Patricia Ann St. Clair, 38, of Route 2, Austinville, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, in the Indian Path Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 9, at 11 a.m. at the Reese Funeral Chapel in Austinville with the Rev. Bobby Alley and the Rev. Martha Presley officiating. Interment will be in the West End cemetery.
She was a member of the Flatwoods Church of God and was preceded in death by one sister.
Survivors include her husband, Darrell St. Clair of the home; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Sue and Steve Mullins of Bastian; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Dorothy Cline, and Tommy and Lucille Cline, all of Austinville; her parents, Fred and Hazel Blankenship Cline of Austinville; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Mary St. Clair of Paw Paw, Ky.; three sisters-in-law, Rita Blankenship of Pikeville, Ky., Regina Prater of Hurley, and Sharon Daugherty of Phelps, Ky.; three brothers-in-law, Sgt. Jerry St. Clair of Anaheim, Germany, Lacy St. Clair of Hurley, and Harold St. Clair of Paw Paw, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.

Mable Lee Sutherland
Mable Lee Sutherland, 83, of Bland, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, in the Wythe County Community Hospital after a short illness.
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 8, at 2 p.m. at the Grubb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Stuart officiating. Interment was in the West End cemetery.
She was born March 23, 1915, in Bland County, the daughter of the late Charlie and Lillie Peak Hounshell. She was preceded in death by one son, Fred Sutherland; four brothers; and six sisters.
Survivors include two sisters and brothers-in-law, Emma and Billy Baker of Bland, and Pearl and Melvin Hounshell of Ceres; one brother, Harvey Hounshell of Ceres; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Hounshell and Ocie Hounshell, both of Bland; and one daughter-in-law, Virginia Sutherland of Concord, Calif.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Wythe County Rescue Squad.

Maude Shinault Williams, 81, of Winston-Salem, N.C., died Monday, Jan. 4, 1999, at the home of her daughter.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 7, at 11 a.m. at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor James Baker and the Rev. Mike Lane. A graveside service was held at 2:30 p.m. in the Odd Fellows cemetery in Ivanhoe.
She was born Jan. 18, 1917, in Wythe County, a daughter of the late Early and Sybil Campbell Shinault. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hicks Williams; and four sisters.
She was a member of Christ Temple of Winston-Salem, N.C.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Janice Marie and Buck Lawson of Winston-Salem, N.C.; three sons and daughters-in-law, the Rev. Bob and Jean Williams of Kernersville, N.C., Larry and Ella Mae Williams of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Walter Kevin Williams of Greensboro, N.C.; a foster daughter, Judy McDaniels of Clemmons, N.C.; six grandchildren, Shoandra Williams Fagg, Teresa Lawson Doss, Todd Lawson, Brady Williams, Crystal Williams and Matthew Williams; three great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Mary Leagons, Ruby Hooven, Eunice Kegley and Kathryn Ogburn, all of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Cleo Childers of Wythe County.

Ola Mae Walker Burton, 87, of Bland, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, in the Wythe County Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 4, at 2 p.m. at the Bland United Methodist Church with the Rev. Doug Hyndrich officiating. Interment will follow in the Temple Hill cemetery. The body will be taken to the church one hour before service time.
She was born in Mechanicsburg, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Walker. She was a member of the Bland United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Vance Burton.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Ethel and Arnold Coker of Tarboro, N.C., Mary Lou and Albert Mustard of Bland, and Helen and Willie Wilson of Wytheville; eight grandchildren, Dennis Coker, Terri Bostick, David Coker, Michelle Ezzell, Brian Mustard, Tammy Ratcliffe, Heather Umberger, and Mary Ruth Wilson; eight great-grandchildren; three half sisters, Louise Carroll, Shirley Byrd, and Linda McPeak, all of Bland; and three half brothers, George Walker of Radford, Grat Walker of Pearisburg, and Ferrell Walker of Bland.

Danny Eugene "D.J." Bradshaw Jr., 32, of Bland, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, at the Wythe County Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 13, at 1 p.m. at the A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with the Rev. Timmy Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Hidden Valley cemetery, Bland.
He was born Jan. 10, 1966, at Bluefield, W.Va., a son of Linda Earnest Bradshaw of Wytheville and the late Danny Eugene Bradshaw Sr. He was a lifelong logger in Bland County.
He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Frank "Wimpy" Bradshaw Jr.; and great-grandfather, Frank Bradshaw Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Melissa Louise Bradshaw; a son, Henry Alston "Hank" Bradshaw of Waynesboro; his mother, Linda Earnest Bradshaw of Wytheville; a brother and sister-in-law, Davey Lee and Stacy Bradshaw of Beaufort, S.C.; a sister, Julie Ann Bradshaw of Boone, N.C.; paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Williams Bradshaw of Bland; maternal grandparents, Daniel and Zareda Earnest of Bastian; great-grandmother, Barbara Bradshaw of Bland; and two nephews, Chase Bradshaw and Hunter Bradshaw.

Kathleen Annie Cox, 65, of Pulaski, formerly of Delaware and Pennsylvania, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999, in the Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg.

She was born in Wythe County, a daughter of the late Albert and Leauna Meredith Cox. She lived in Pennsylvania and Wilmington, Del., for the past 45 years and was employed as a counselor with Elwyn Institute for 30 years.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Andrew Mitchell of Ocean City, Md., and Marilyn Steele of Sellinggrove, Pa.; one, son, Jack Lee Steele of Pulaski; two grandsons, Gabriel Louis Summa and Jackie Steele; one great-granddaughter, Leah Kathleen Summa; one sister, Celene Gross of Marion; and six brothers, Thomas Cox of Draper, Olen Cox of Pulaski, Clyde Cox of Winston-Salem, N.C., Kenneth Cox, Carl Cox, and Michael Cox, all of Pulaski.

Harvey Lee Taylor, 93, of Salem, formerly of Wythe County, died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, in the Richfield Nursing Center in Salem.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 14, at 2 p.m. at the Reese Funeral Home Chapel in Austinville with the Rev. Randy Morris and the Rev. Richard Lindamood officiating. Interment will follow in the Odd Fellows cemetery in Ivanhoe. A reception will be held for the family and friends at the Fort Chiswell United Methodist Church after the service.
He was born in Carroll County, a son of the late Andrew and Evaline Taylor. He was a retired employee of the National Carbide Company with 45 years service and a retired Wythe County farmer. He was a member of the Fort Chiswell United Methodist Church and a member of the IVA Lodge No. 173, Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
He was preceded in death by a son, Frank L. Taylor.
Survivors include his wife, Mae Hanks Taylor; one daughter and son-in-law, Bettie L. and David Dean of Salem; one son and daughter-in-law, Donald G. and May Taylor of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Josie Jones of Wytheville, and Ethel Pennington of Beckley, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one step-great-granddaughter, and two step-great-grandsons.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Jan. 13, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Reese Funeral Home. IVA Lodge No. 173 will conduct a memorial service at 8:30 p.m.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Anderson.

He was born in Grayson County, a son of the late John and Pearlie Dell Brewer Burris. He was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church in Rural Retreat.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virgie Ellen Cornett Burris; a daughter, Locky May Burris; and two brothers, Roy Burris and Marvin Burris.
Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Mary Cedella and William Englar of Abingdon, Md., and Linda Carol Reardon of Rural Retreat; three sons and daughters-in-law, Oscar and Mary Ellen Burris of Virginia Beach, Donald and Betty L. Burris, Homer and Debbie Burris, and Jean Burris, all of Rural Retreat; one sister, Mable Flanagan of Rural Retreat; one stepsister, Mae Belle Thompson of Wytheville; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was born in Crandon, a daughter of the late Carl and Edna Havens Kelley.
She is survived by her husband, J.D. Cox of Wytheville; three sons and daughter-in-law, Ronald K. and Jane Cox of Bristol, J.D. Cox Jr. of Courtland, and Allan Michael Cox of Mechanicsville; a sister, Virginia Woodfin; five brothers, Blaine Townley, Bill Townley, Sherman Townley, Jim Townley, and L.B. Townley; and five grandchildren.
