Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 21, at 11 a.m. at the Barnett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Stuart officiating. Interment will follow in the Speedwell United Methodist Church cemetery.

Scott Clay Jones, 33, of Max Meadows, Va., died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, at his home.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 20, at 1 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Chapel in Pulaski, Va., with the Rev. Steve Willis officiating. Burial will be in the Dublin cemetery.
He was born May 16, 1969, in Radford, Va. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Korea.
He is survived by his wife, Angela Jones of Max Meadows, Va.; two daughters, Lauran Kay and Kearsten Hallie, both of Max Meadows, Va.; one son, Joshua Clay of Christiansburg, Va.; his mother, Connie Parks Day of Pulaski, Va.; his father, Paul Douglas Manuel of Pulaski, Va.; two sisters, Lori Hale of Dublin, Va., and Natasha Porath of Pulaski, Va.; grandparents, Henry and Helen Parks of Pulaski, Va., and Helen F. Manuel of Ivanhoe, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

William Elmo "Moe" Wolfe, 68, of Blountville, Tenn., died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 18, at 2 p.m. at the Barnett Funeral Home Chapel, Wytheville, Va., with the Rev. Randy Morris officiating. Interment will be at the Dean cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louie Edward Sr. and Melvia Scott Wolfe; and two brothers, Gordon Wolfe and Winston "Pee Wee" Wolfe.
Survivors include one son, Michael Darrell Wolfe of Pulaski, Va.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Robyn Barnes-Cobb of Blountville, Tenn., and Kay and Leslie Worrell of Draper, Va.; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Robert "Bobby" and Joyce Wolfe of Pennsylvania, Louie E. "Big Boy" Jr. and Bonnie Wolfe of Max Meadows, Va.; eight grandchildren, Felecia, Amanda, Brandy, Pamela Janette, Leslie Jr., Michael, Makayla and Matthew; three great-grandchildren, Alex, Drew and Sierra; and several nieces and nephews.

Louise Sargent Hall, 81, of Bluefield, W.Va., formerly of Bland, Va., died Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, in the Bluefield Regional Medical Center, Bluefield, W.Va.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Dec. 29, at 3 p.m. at the Bastian Union Church with the Rev. Lee McIntosh officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Bluefield, Va.
She was born Aug. 12, 1921, in Russell County, Va. She was a member of the Bastian Union Church and was retired from Tultex Inc.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Franklin Hall; a son, Andrew Carter Hall; her parents, William Walter Sargent and Ida Pearl Plaster Sargent; five brothers, Buddy Sargent, Jack Sargent, Andrew Sargent, Stuart Sargent and Tom Sargent; and two sisters, Mary Hunt and Annie Smith.
Survivors included two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Fay Lambert of Bland, Va., and Rheta and Jerry Smith of Bluefield, Va.; one son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Betty Hall of Rocky Gap, Va.; one sister, Helen Slate of Roanoke, Va.; two brothers, William "Bill" Sargent of Bluefield, W.Va., and Henry Sargent of Nashville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren, Teresa, Sheri, Robert, Don, Charles, Melissa, Alice, Timmy and Rhonda; eight great-grandchildren, Ashley, Jessica, Ryan, Michael, Michelle, Tori, Josh and Allie; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Dec. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Highland Funeral Service Bland Chapel, Bland, Va., or at the residence of the children at any time.

Charles E. Aker Jr., 78, of Wytheville, Va., died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 24, at 2 p.m. at the Barnett Funeral Home Chapel, Wytheville, Va., with the Rev. Barney Bandy and the Rev. Dennis Sheppard officiating. Interment will be in the West End cemetery, Wytheville, Va. American Legion Post No. 9 will present the flag.
He was born June 9, 1924, in Wythe County, Va. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a military policeman, medic and surgical technician. He was employed by Campbell Finley, then later was employed at Robby's Army Navy Store, Wytheville, Va., where he retired after 30 years of employment. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 9.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. Aker Sr. and Mattie Evelyn Poston Aker.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel Seagle Aker; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Aker and Jack Bandy of Vallscreek, W.Va.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Kenneth "Kenny" and April Aker, and Robert and Melissa Aker, all of Wytheville, Va.; three sisters, Frances Riggs and Mary Ward, both of Ashland, Ky., and Betty Wright of Wytheville, Va.; a brother, George W. Aker of Wytheville, Va.; three grandsons, Billy Joe Chandler, Codey Aker and Devin Aker; two granddaughters, Cassidy Aker and Jayda Aker; and one great-grandson, Billy Joe Chandler Jr.

He was born Oct. 23, 1928, in Wytheville, Va. He was a carpenter and a member of the Mt. View United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Crockett Davis Sr. and Nellie Pierce Bell Davis; a son, Frank Davis; and grandson, Stacy Davis.

She was born Dec. 22, 1941, in Wythe County, Va. She attended Trinity Baptist Church in Roanoke, Va., and was a former employee of Jug's.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Alvie and Mattie Waller Bralley; two sisters, Frances Bralley Stuart and Lorene Ross; and one brother, Marion Bralley.
Survivors include her husband, Cloyd McKinley Frye; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Kathy Frye of Vinton, Va., and Darren and Tina Frye of Rural Route, Wytheville, Va.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Angela and Tommy Taylor of Rural Route, Wytheville, Va., and Jessica L. Judith Gayle Dixon Hoback, 52, of Bluff City, Tenn., died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at her residence.

She was born in Wytheville, Va., and had lived in the Bristol, Tenn., area for 30 years. She was a graduate of George Wythe High School, attended Draughn's Junior College, and was an employee of Universal Fibers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Hoback.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Michelle Hoback, and Chad and Robin Hoback, all of Bristol, Tenn.; her parents, Sherman R. and Ola C. Dixon of Wytheville, Va.; a sister, Nancy Spraker of Max Meadows, Va.; brothers, Charles B. Dixon of Grove City, Ohio, and Larry R.
