Mary Young Boulware, 95, of Bowling Green, died Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at her home.
She was a member of Bowling Green United Methodist Church and was the widow of Cary Boulware.
She is survived by two daughters, Jane Swain of Bowling Green and Nancy Barlow of Ruther Glen; five grandchildren, Keith Todd Swain, Marianna Swain Coleman, Diana Barlow Cocke, David A. Barlow and H. Clay Barlow, Jr.; nine great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and her caretaker, Bea Frank.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9, in Greenlawn cemetery, Bowling Green, with the Rev. Linda Ray officiating.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to a favorite charity.
Daisy Bruce Campbell, 82, of Bowling Green, died Wednesday, June 29, 2005.
Survivors include two children, Edward Campbell of Milford and Kathy Francis of Georgia; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two children, Carolyn Steward and Leonard Campbell.
A funeral service will be Saturday, July 2 at 11:00 AM at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with burial to follow in Greenlawn cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday 7:00-9:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Mary Washington Hospice.
John Daniel Jacobs, 75, of Ruther Glen died Friday, June 24, 2005 at VCU Medical Center.
Born in Virginia, he was the son of the late Rev. Norman F. and Sadie P. Jacobs. He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Harris, and a brother, Reuben "Jake" Jacobs.
He and his brother, Jake, owned and operated a Speed Queen franchise throughout Florida for approximately 25 years. He retired to Caroline County about four years ago. He and his wife traveled extensively. He was an avid golfer and a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Esther Stevens Jacobs; a brother, Norman F. Jacobs; a sister, Annie Mae Robertson; eight nephews; and six nieces.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 27, at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with the Rev. Charles Tillapaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Wright's Burying Ground, Ruther Glen.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Annabelle O'Bryant Black, 87, of Milford, died Thursday, June 16, 2005 at the Bowling Green Health Care Center.
Born in Bryant, Illinois, she retired as a registered nurse at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, Illinois. She was the widow of Eugene Black.
She is survived by a son, Larry Black and his wife, Ann, of Stafford; a granddaughter, Sheri Hillman of Dale City; and a great grandson, Michael Hillman.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, Laurel Hill Memorial Park, Spotsylvania.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, June 20, at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green.

Francis Cary Green, Sr., 87, of Bowling Green died Saturday, June 11, 2005, at his home.
Born in Bowling Green on June 14, 1917, he was a member of St. Asaphs Episcopal Church. He was a 1938 graduate of Virginia Tech and attained the rank of captain in the Army Air Corp during World War II, during which time he was a navigator aboard B17 and B29 aircraft. His career included 30 years at NSWC, where he designed aircraft crew escape systems and then several years as a senior engineer with Virginia Power, where he worked with combustion turbines.
Survivors include his wife, Pepi Green; two sons, Champe Green of New Mexico and Dillard Green of Richmond; three stepchildren, Cynthia Garrett of Richmond, George W. Eakin, II of Texas and Elisa Eakin of Richmond; a sister, Anne Garland Sheaffer of Iowa; and six grandchildren, Carter and Katie Green, Ashley, Amber and Christina Garrett and Lauren Eakin. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Dillard Green and a son, Francis Cary Green, Jr.
A celebration of his life will be held graveside Tuesday, June 14, at 3 p.m. in Lakewood cemetery, Bowling Green, with the Rev. Pegram Johnson officiating. Pallbearers will be Carter Green, Will Gravatt, Gary Gravatt, Jim Merritt, Lawrence Smith, Anthony Laserna and Robert Farmer.
The family will receive friends at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, Monday, June 13, from 7 to 9 p.m.

Virginia Blackburn Bruce, 88, of Woodford died of cancer Sunday, June 5, 2005, at her home, "Laurel Springs".
Born September 21, 1916, in Stafford County, she was the daughter of the late J. Howell and Marie K. Blackburn.
Mrs. Bruce attended Mary Washington College and was a retired Woodford postmistress. She was past secretary of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church in Guinea.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Charles Raymond Bruce; a brother, Robert Kirk Blackburn of Wilmington, Delaware; a sister, Mary Carlton of Port Royal; three nieces and four nephews.
A service of death and ressurrection will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, at Hopewell United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Peter M. Vaughn and the Rev. Howard Satterwhite officiating. Burial will follow in Lakewood cemetery, Bowling Green. A reception will follow the burial at the church.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green.

Mildred F. Hite, 85, of Bowling Green died Saturday, June 4, 2005, at Bowling Green Health Care Center.
Born in Caroline County, she was the widow of Anderson Hite, Sr. and a member of Bowling Green United Methodist Church. She was past president of the Caroline Junior Women's Club, member of the Town & Country Club and was a member of a local theatrical group. She was also an avid bridge player.
Survivors include two sons, Anderson W. "Joe" Hite, Jr. and Alan Hite, both of Bowling Green; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 8, at 11 a.m. in Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green.

Myrtle V. Fitzhugh, 73, of Bowling Green, has gone to be with the Lord. Born and raised in Caroline County, Mrs. Fitzhugh died Friday, June 3, 2005 at Mary Washington Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Roger; three daughters, Mary Chenault of Bowling Green, Patsy Slaughter of Spotsylvania and Lynn Powers of Port Royal; a son, Charles L. Rollins, Jr. of Bowling Green; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three sisters, Madeline Carter and Amy Tapscott of Richmond and Lois Bryant of Bowling Green. She was preceded in death by her son, William E. Rollins; two sisters, Effie Birckhead and Mildred Newhouse and two brothers, Dewey Jordan and Earl Jordan.

Jessie Lee Dyson, 89, formerly of Ruther Glen, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005.
Miss Dyson is survived by a brother, Raymond Southworth of Ruther Glen; a niece, Mary Galan of Spain; and a nephew, James Heffler of Miford.

Michael A. Woods, 53, of Bowling Green, passed on to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 21, 2005 at his home. He was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ, devoted husband, father and friend to many. In 1991, he and his wife began full time missionary work, traveling to many countries preaching the Word of God.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley C. Woods; two daughters, Eunice and Lydia Woods, both of San Francisco; two brothers, John Gardener and Charles Taylor Woods and three sisters, Sylvia Neff, Judy Gibeaut and Ann Taylor.

Irene Mae Young, 77, of Ruther Glen, died Wednesday, May 18, 2005. She was the widow of Charles Linwood Young, Sr., a member of Concord Baptist Church, Ruther Glen and had been a caregiver for several people in the area.
Survivors include three daughters, Gloria Jones of Supply, North Carolina, Janet Reames and Julie Flaherty, both of Ruther Glen; a sister, Doris Wilcox of Mayo, Florida; five grandchildren, Cindy Thomas, Wendy Moore, Richard and Justin Flaherty and Aaron Reames; six great grandchildren and a devoted friend, Blanche McDonald. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles L. Young, Jr.

James P."Jimmy" Cook, 74, of Ruther Glen, died Friday, May 13, 2005 at his home. Born in Texas, he was an Army veteran and had retired from Bear Island Paper Company.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Cook; four children, Mike Cook and his wife, Terry and Richard Cook and his wife, Ruth, both of Fredericksburg, Barbara Latham of Mesquite, Texas and Gene Cook of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Harvey Cook of Irving, Texas; nine grandchildren, Paul Cook, Andrew Cook, Brian Stone, Jonathan Cook, Emmaleigh Cook, Jennifer Reese, William Cook, Rachel Hankins and Joe Latham and three great grandchildren.

Catherine L. Pitts, 86, of Milford, died Saturday, May 14, 2005 in Ashland.
Born in Penola, she was a member of Milford Presbyterian Church where she was active in the Women's Circle.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Morris H. Pitts. Survivors include six children; daughters, Marcia Englert and her husband, Harold, Nancy Burford and her husband, Doug, and Mary Beth Taormina and her husband, Gus, all of Richmond; sons, Morris H. Pitts, Jr. and his wife, Winnie, Douglas Pitts, and Scott Pitts and his wife, Laurie, all of Caroline; a sister, Viola Canyock of Mechanicsville; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
