Joe Romenick, 84, of Bowling Green died Monday, March 10, 2003, at his home. He was the widower of June Romenick and had retired from the U. S. Army. Mr. Romenick was the commander of DAV Chapter 42, current president of AFGE Local 2902, a member of the 101st and 82nd Airborne during World War II and the Korean War, and was a civil servant at Fort A. P. Hill.
Survivors include his daughter, Bonnie Romenick of Bowling Green. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 14, at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green. Burial with full military honors will follow in Greenlawn cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Nancy H. Fenerty, 62, of Bowling Green died Sunday, March 2, 2003, at Carriage Hill Nursing Home in Fredericksburg.
Survivors include her husband, Norman Fenerty; two sons, Tom Fenerty of Richmond and Bill Fenerty of Bowling Green; three sisters, Judy Weber of Greenfield, Ind., Caroline Spruce of Walker; W. Va., and Marian Bartlett of Charleston, W. VA; two brothers, Keith Holler of Glendale, Ariz., and Butch Holler of Parkersburg, W. Va.; and three grandsons, Jared Timberlake and Dawson and Danny Fenerty.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 15, at 11 a.m. at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with the Rev. Terry Clark officiating.

Pearl Houston, 86, of Partlow died, Monday, January 6, 2003.
Born in an area of Caroline which is now a part of Fort A.P. Hill, he was a member of Wallers Baptist Church and had retired as superintendent of the Massaponax VDOT office.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Daisy G. Houston; and a granddaughter, Diane Bumpass. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Bumpass.
A funeral will be held Thursday, January 9, 2002 at 2 p.m. at Wallers Baptist Church, Partlow, with the Rev. Todd Kube officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Grace F. Savage, 103, of Sparta, formerly of Baltimore, MD., died Saturday, March 1, 2003 at the Bowling Green Health Care Center. She was a member of Arlington Baptist Church in Baltimore and the widow of Frank Savage. Survivors include a daughter, Grace Parker of Sparta; and a son, George Frantz of Old Town, FL.; nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth McCleod; and a son, James Frantz, Jr.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at Salem Baptist Church, Sparta. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green is handling arrangements.
Helen Taylor Pugh, 101, of Richmond died Sunday, March 2, 2003 at Henrico Doctors Hospital.
She was a member of Salem Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James William Taylor and Leroy Pugh.
Survivors include a son, James W. Taylor of Denver, CO., (Dorothy); five daughters, Oakey Lewis of Cambridge, MD, Mildred E. Taylor of Richmond, Gladys T. Bruce (Charles) and Emily T. Crowder both of Richmond, and Shirley T. Brooks (David) of Warsaw; thirteen grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 4, 2003 in the chapel of Storke Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Salem Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
Hazel Frazier Baar, 85 of Bowling Green, Virginia and formally of Grand Rapids died Monday, February 17, 2003.
She had moved to Bowling Green in 1996 to be near her family and soon became a familiar site with her walker on Main Street.
She enjoyed greeting people in the town and made many new friends through the Rappahannock Area Agency on Aging meetings which she attended weekly. One of her favorite times was Saturday morning breakfast at Main Street Cafe.
Grand Rapids, however, was never far from her thoughts and always in her heart. Her career as a librarian in the Grand Rapids Library, her active participation in community politics, her frequent trenchant letters to the Public Pulse and the culmination of all those things with the Liberty Bell Award in 1986 were valuable to her beyond words.
Her love for the Blanford Nature Center where her husband Stuart's bird carvings are on permanent display never diminished.
She is survived by her daughter, Leslie Baar Moore and son-in-law, Boyd of Bowling Green, Virginia, her granddaughter Keena Lindsay, a senior at Campbell University, and grandsons Andrew Moore and his wife Dana, David Moore and his wife Eleanor, and three great grandchildren who were a source of great joy to her in her final years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Major Stuart P. Baar, Jr. and daughter Christopher Barr Ewing.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 1, 2003 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Storke Funeral Home in Bowling Green. A memorial service will be held at 17573 A.P. Hill Blvd., in Bowling Green on Sunday, March 2 at 2:30 p.m.
Final interment at a later date will be at Quantico, Virginia where she will be buried with her husband, Marine Corps Major Stuart P. Baar, Jr.
Annie Laurie Harris, 97, died February 16, 2003 at the Culpepper Baptist Retirement Community where she had made her home since 1987. She was the widow of William Garland Harris.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Harris Linton and husband Charles of Woodford. A granddaughter Elizabeth Garland Linton of Woodford, a grandson Charles Craig Linton and wife, Michelle of Memphis Tenn., and four great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Forrest Tayloe Linton.
Mrs. Harris was an avid gardener and loved designing flower gardens and arranging flowers. While living in Petersburg she was active in the Old Dominion Garden Club and the Garden Department of the Federated Woman's Club.
She moved to Fredericksburg in 1953 where she remained interested in working with flowers and gardens. She was an active member of the Garden Department of the Women's Club of Fredericksburg.
Mrs. Harris was a member of the First Baptist Church of Petersburg from the time she was a young child. She taught Sunday School until she moved to Fredericksburg where she became a member of Fredericksburg United Methodist Church.
A funeral will be held Friday, February 21, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. in the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Lenow officiating. Burial will follow Blandford cemetery, Petersburg.

Lucille Y. Coghill, age 90, of Wicomico Church, Virginia formerly of Woodford, Virginia died Monday, February 17, 2003.
She is survived by three children, Sandra C. Scripture, Wicomico Church, Virginia; Charles E."Ted" Coghill, King George, Virginia and R. Mark Coghill, Mechanicsville, Virginia; ten grandchildren; four step grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Thursday at the Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock, Virginia and from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Friday at the Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, Virginia and where services will be held 11:00 A.M.Saturday.

Bertha B. Kobs, 88, of Chancellor Village in Fredericksburg, died Monday, February 10, 2003 in Bowling Green Health Care Center. Originally from Wisconsin, she was the widow of Charles Julius Kobs.
Survivors include her son, Charles Kobs of Ruther Glen and her sister, Gwendolyn Toborg of Minnesota.
A graveside funeral will be held Thursday, February 20, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. in Arlington National cemetery with Rev. Bob Lewandowski officiating.
Marjorie L. Brown, 80, of Port Royal, died Friday, February 7, 2003 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mrs. Brown had worked for the Department of Justice for 17 years and was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include four nieces, Patricia Reynolds of Texas, Doris Orrock of Bowling Green, Barbara Jett of Fredericksburg, and Kathy Bowen of Richmond; and two nephews, Gerald W. Reynolds and Tommy Reynolds both of Richmond.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 10, 2003 at Storke Funeral Home with Rev. Dwight Storke officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn cemetery.

Nancy S. Orrock, 56, of Woodford died Saturday, January 11, 2003 at her home.
She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Woodford and was the manager for the Farm Bureau in Bowling Green for 30 years.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Orrock; her son, Will Orrock of Stafford; her mother and step-father, Dorothy and Ernest Davis of Montpelier; two sisters, Faye Larrabee of Richmond and Donna Watson of Montpelier; a brother, Ernest F. Davis, Jr. of Montpelier; a grandson, Connor Orrock. She was preceded in death by a brother and sister, Don Snyder and Lisa Chafin.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. in Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. John Mann and Rev. Amos Healy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00-8:00 PM Monday, January 13, 2003 at Storke Funeral Home.
