He is survived by his wife, Ella Anderson; two sons, Steve and James Anderson Jr.; three daughters, Veronica, Daphne and Amanda; two sons-in-law; one brother, Junius Anderson; three sisters, Mildred, Regina and Bernice; eight grandchildren; mother-in-law; five sisters-in-law; eight brothers-in-law; one aunt; a host of nieces and nephews; two devoted friends, George and Charles King.

Mrs. Ola Elizabeth Anderson, 93, of Richmond, died Monday, June 16, 1997.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Walter H. Anderson; her daughter, Doris M. Roberson and son-in-law, Lawrence M. Roberson; seven grandchildren, Patricia Wheeler, Pamela Conner, Charles Roberson, Carol Blanchard, Darrell Roberson, Sheryl Elliott and Larry Roberson; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson. Her remains rest at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Interment Washington Memorial Park.
ARMSTRONG
Arthur James Armstrong, of Bumpass, Va., died Tuesday, June 17, 1997.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William James Armstrong and Betty Perry Armstrong; and a brother, Hunter L. Armstrong.
He is survived by his friends, Bill and Annis W. Kirby; and his niece, Evelyn Mae Clements.
His remains rest at the Lacy Funeral Home, Rt. 522, Orchid, Va.
Graveside funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday in Hillcrest Cemetery, Louisa, Va.
AXSELLE
Died June 16, 1997, Marie A. Axselle, 87, of Montpelier.
She is survived by her brother and sisters, John F. Axselle Jr., Montpelier, Mae Hendrix, Richmond, Pat Kennedy, Richmond and Hazel Vaughn, Beaverdam.
The family will receive friends Tuesday 4 to 8 p.m. in Reid Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland.

Marie was a member of First Baptist Church, Ashland for 50 years, where she had taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and participated in other church activities.

Harvey Mark Aytes Jr., of 2285 New Market Road, owner of Harvey Aytes Taxi Co., departed this life Saturday, June 14, 1997, after a brief illness.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Cora Fields Aytes; a loving daughter, Donna Michelle Aytes; mother, Christine T. Aytes; a brother, Richard L. Aytes; one sister, Delores Aytes Jones; two sisters-in-law, three aunts, two uncles, three nieces, one nephew and a host of other relatives and friends.
Remains rest at Scotts Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd., where the fmaily will receive friends Wednesday, June 18 from 7 to 8 p.m. and where funeral services will be held Thursday, June 19 at 3 p.m., Rev. Dwight C. Jones officiating.

Phyllis Hudgins Bennett, 79, of Richmond, widow of Jack L. Bennett, died Tuesday, June 17, 1997.
She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Jackie and Nick Warren, and Donna and Dave Twombly; five grandchildren, Anne and Spencer Warren, Erik, Gray and Erin Twombly.
Mrs. Bennett worked for over twenty years with Owens and Minor and retired from Windor, Inc., and was a member of Overbrook Presbyterian Church.
The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd., Wednesday, where services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday.

Larry James Bourne, 35, of Louisa, Va., died Monday, June 16, 1997 at his home.
He was a professional Fire Fighter with Henrico Division of Fire.
Instructor for the State Heavy Tactial Rescue Team.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gary L. Bourne.
He is survived by his aunt and uncle, Carole B. and George W. Kail of Louisa.
His cousins, George A. Kail and wife Malinda and their daughter Lindsy and Ted Ray and wife Arleen all of Louisa.
Funeral service Thursday, June 19, 11 a.m. at Woodward Funeral Home Chapel, Louisa.

She is survived by her mother, Anne Murr Cole, formerly of Amelia; two sons, Chris Charlton and Jeff Fain; a daughter, Amanda Fain; daughter-in-law, Tammi Abee Fain; two grandchildren, Taylor and Chesney Fain; brother, Ron Cole and family; stepdaughter, Terry Rhom and family, and husband, Roger Fain. Funeral service will be Friday, June 20 at 2 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 5232 The Plaza, Charlotte.

Mary Emilie Hipkins, 88, of Hopewell, died Tuesday, June 17, 1997. Widow of Rex O. Hipkins.

HOWERTON
Una Ragsdale Howerton, 88, of Colonial Heights, died on Tuesday, June 17, 1997 at the Colonial Heights Convalescent Center.
She was a native of Chatham, Va., the daughter of the late Albert Wilson and Fannie Giles Ragsdale, a graduate of the Petersburg Hospital School of Nursing, and served as the Evening Supervisor of the Southside Regional Medical Center with 42 years of service.
Mrs. Howerton was a member of the Colo nial Heights Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Elton Calvin Howerton Sr.; a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Howerton Halbert of Colonial Heights; two sons, Robert L. Howerton of Richmond, and Elton C. Howerton Jr. of Alexandria, Va.; a sister, Frances Reekes of Chesterfield; a brother, William Ragsdale of Colonial Heights; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 19, 1997 at 2 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Donald Steele and the Rev. Kathleen Steele officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 18, 1997 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to either the Southside Region al Medical Center School of Nursing or the Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church.
HUBAND
Alice Lowery Huband, 83, of Richmond, widow of James E. Huband Sr., died Tuesday, June 17, 1997.
She is survived by her children, James E. Jr., Earnest A. and William N. Huband, Joyce H. Luck, Linda F. Huband and Donald W. Huband; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great- grandchildren; and her brother, James Truman Morris Jr., all of Richmond.
Mrs. Huband was a lifelong member of Pine Street Baptist Church. Remains rest at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave., where the family will receive friends 1 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, June 19, at Pine Street Baptist Church. Interment in Riverview Cemetery.
The remains will rest in church one hour prior to services.
