Robert Henry Leatherwood, 70, of Claremont, died Thursday, June 12, 1997, at his residence. Surviving are his wife, Laura M. Leatherwood; three sons, Mark A., R. Neal and Todd M. Leatherwood, all of Claremont; three daughters, Janet L. Garrett of Chesterfield, Lisa D. Leatherwood of Chester, Cynthia L. Scott of Waverly; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; aunt and uncle, Margie and Charles Holloway of Roanoke Rapids, N.C. Albert Edgar Noonkester, 97, of Princeton, W.Va., died Wednesday, June 11, 1997, in a Princeton hospital. He was the son of the late George Washington and Julina Payne Noonkester. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lydia Howell Noonkester; two grandchildren, Terrie Jean Riffe Adams and Dennis Ray Riffe; one sister; and one brother. Survivors include one daughter, Lois Riffe of Highland Springs; one son, Virgil Ray Noonkester of San Diego, Calif.; four grandchildren; and one great- grandson, Jason Morgan Adams. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at George W. Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton. Burial will follow in Oakwood Park Cemetery, Princeton. L. Blake Owen, age 74, of Glen Allen, died June 12, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Betty T. Owen; two daughters, Sheryl Owen and son-in-law, Chris Collins, of Richmond, Pam McDonald and son-in-law, Chuck McDonald, of Flower Mound, Texas; two grandsons, Christopher Blake Collins and Billings Collins; a sister- in-law, LaVera Golden of Arlington, Va. Mr. Owen was an officer of the Richmond Elks Lodge #45 and was retired from the National Security Agency. Marie Fiurillo Pietri, 101, of Richmond, died Thursday, June 12, 1997. She was the widow of metal sculptor Benjamin A. Pietri, and was preceded in death by her daughter, Marie Pietri Kilpatrick. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Bernice P. and Michael G. Nestor; son-in-law, Jack Kilpatrick; granddaughter, Anne N. Fonville; grandsons, Michael Nestor of Dartmouth, Mass., Sean and Christopher Kilpatrick of Woodville, Va., and Kevin Kilpatrick of Tallahassee, Fla.; ten great-grandchildren. Mrs. Pietri was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Catholic Woman's Club. Josephine Lisagor Weinberg, 89, of Richmond, died Tuesday, June 10, 1997. She was the widow of Max Weinberg and is survived by her daughter, Sharon B. Ellis; three grandchildren, Ronald B. Swerkes, Jennifer R. Smith and Karli M. Sharp; one great-granddaughter, Samantha Lynn Swerkes; sister-in- law, Minnie Lisagor; brother-in-law, Sol Weinberg; two nieces, Sandra Deitz and Carol Aranoff; four nephews, Barry, Richard, Mark and Michael Lisagor; numerous cousins and loving friends. Mrs. Weinberg and her husband ran J & S Market on 32nd St. in Church Hill, after which, she became a leasing agent with General Services Corp. at Westover Hills Apts. until her retirement. She was an accomplished pianist who volunteered her services to Temple Beth Israel and its choir, the Jewish Community Center and the Grand Tones, and McGuire V.A. Medical Center. She also played for Shakie's Pizza Parlors and Alton's Country Steakhouse. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Bliley Funeral Home's Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Ave. Interment Hebrew Oakwood Cemetery.

Charles Austin Welchons Sr., 76 of Wylliesburg, died at his home Wednesday, June 11, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Spurlock Welchons; one daughter, Eileen W. Love, Wylliesburg; one grandson, Robert Love and his wife, Sheri; three brothers, Irving and David of Richmond and Bennett of Tampa, Fla.; two sisters, Anne Stringfield, Chester and Vera Mangum, Rockville, Md. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles A. Welchons Jr. He was a veteran of WWII and a member of the Woodmen of the World. He was a faithful member, Deacon and trustee of the Wylliesburg Baptist Church, where services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. Interment with WOW Rites in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Browning Funeral Home, Keysville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wylliesburg Baptist Church.
