Arthur B. Turner of Richmond, went in triumph to be with his Savior June 13, 1997. Mr. Turner was the husband of Stella Turner; father of Peggy T. Baumgart and Tommie A. William L. Woolridge Sr., 71, of Richmond, departed this life on Wednesday, June 11, 1997. Mr. Woolridge was an Army veteran of World War II and was an avid sportsman. He is survived by 11 children; sons, Her bert Armstead, William L. Woolridge Jr. and Anthony E. Woolridge of Richmond, Kenny Woolridge, and Keith Woolridge of Cleveland, Ohio; six daughters, Margaret Burrell, Patricia Cooke, Jean Battle, Sheila Wool ridge and Darlene Perry of Richmond, Kimberly Woolridge of Cleveland, Ohio; three daughters-in-law, Geraldine Armstead, Rosa Woolridge, and Lillie Woolridge; and two sons-in-law, Michael Perry and George Burrell. He is also survived by seven siblings, Alexander Woolridge, Annibelle Woolridge, Barbara Flippen, and Joseph Woolridge of Richmond, Eddie Woolridge of Amelia, Corlette "Lillian" Middleton of Midlothian, John Woolridge of Joliet, Ill.; four sisters-in-law, Rebecca Woolridge of Evanston, Ill., Susie Woolridge, Mildred Woolridge of Richmond and Gwen Woolridge of Joliet, Ill; 18 grandchildren; six great -grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, dear friends; and one devoted, Theola. Ralph K. Yates, 52, of Richmond, died June 13, 1997. He is survived by his daughter, Julie; eight brothers and sisters, Catherine, Eugenie, Buck, Eddie, Paul, Virginia, Eva and Sandra. Allen P. Anderson died Thursday, May 15, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Bessie M. Anderson; sister, Helen Strickland; sister in-law, Virginia Millington; brother in-law and sister in-law, Vernon and Maybelle Millington; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Anderson was a WWII Veteran, a member of Tuckahoe Moose Lodge 1163 and a member of the American Legion Post 244. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd. where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and where services will be held 11 a.m. Monday. Mrs. Edyth Elizabeth (Ransome) Athey departed this life on Friday, May 16, 1997 in Richmond, Va. at the home of her devoted niece, Mrs. Evelyn R. Jones and nephew -in-law, Deacon Booker R. Jones. She was born November 5, 1918 in Richmond, Va. to the late Fletcher and Lucy Ransome. She married and was preceded in death by her loving and devoted hus band, Mr. Elliott Athey of West Chester, Penn. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Mr. Leroy H. Ransome, and three sisters, Annie Jones, Gladys Wilson, and Evelyn Coleman Lawson. She leaves to cherish her memory devoted nieces, Olivia Anderson and Margie Knight of Richmond, Va., and Thelma Miller of New York, N.Y. and nephews, Mr. Ernest L. Ranson and James Jones of Richmond, Va., and Mr. Bernard Jones of Los Angeles, Calif. Sharing in her love and memory is a devoted goddaughter and godson. She will be missed and treasured by five generations of living nieces and nephews, numbering approximately 280. Life was pleasurable in the company of many devoted friends, among them, Thelma Dillard, Lois Johnson, and Kenneth and Mildred Harris. Tender farewells and expressions of love may be shared on Monday evening, May 19, 1997 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St. in Richmond, Va. Her remains will be forwarded Tuesday to Philadelphia, Penn. for funeral and burial on Wednesday, May 21, 1997.

Mrs. Joyce V. Bradley, 65, died Saturday, May 17, 1997, at her residence, 1842 Bogese Drive, Petersburg, Va. She was a native of Chesterfield County and a lifelong resident of this area, and was the daughter of the late Otho B. and Bertha Barnes Vaughan. Mrs. Bradley was a member of Monumental Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir and the handbell choir. She is survived by her husband, Jerry M. Bradley; one daughter, Stacy B.B. Hazel Pierce Bruce, 87, of Richmond, died Saturday, May 17, 1997. She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah Leonard Pierce and Nell Smith Pierce; sister, Mildred Pierce Fulkerson, all of Birmingham, Alabama; and her husband of 47 years, Lindsay U. Bruce who was a retired Regional Vice President for Prudential Mortgage & Loan Dept. who died in 1979. Mrs. Bruce was born May 8, 1910 and attended Birmingham Southern College where she was a member of the ZTA Sorority. Mrs. Bruce was a member of the Tuckahoe Woman's Club, the Blue Stockings Club and was a former President of Church Women at Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis, Tenn. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Virginia B. and Thomas R. Cooke; a son and daughter-in-law, Lindsay U. Jr. and Nancy T. Bruce; three grandchildren, David B. Bruce, Katherine T. Eddy, and Grant L. Eddy, of Richmond; a niece, Linda B. Bryant; two nephews, R. Vance Fulkerson and Edwin G. Bruce Jr.; a sister-in-law, Virginia Pitts Bruce of Birmingham, Ala.
