Lois Irons Hueston went to be with the Lord on June 14, 1997. Lois had lived, loved and shared 77 years. She leaves her husband, Bill; two children, Jack Hueston and Dietra Beck er; six grandchildren; and a brother, Paul Irons of Sarasota, Fla. Mrs. Mercedes Pettirossi Hurt, 87, of Emporia, widow of Clarence A. Hurt, died Thursday, June 12, 1997. She is survived by a daughter and son-in- law, Narcissa P. (Cheesa) and Melvin D. Callahan, of Emporia; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael D. and Cathy D. Hurt, of Richmond; two brothers, David J. Mancini, of Lady Lake, FL and Nick Mancini, of San Diego, CA; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at home, 1505 Sunset Ln., Emporia. Charles E. Jones Sr., 77 of Richmond, died June 11, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Regina Jones; five children, Ed, Billy and Joe Jones, Stephanie Landi and Brian Jones; two brothers, Frankie and Phil Jones; and six grandchildren. His remains will be buried at Quantico National Cemetery.

Barbara Stallings Leggett, 55, of Mechanicsville, died Saturday, June 14, 1997. She is survived by her husband, Donald William Leggett; her children, Susan and her husband, Shay Chenault, and Stephen D. and his wife, Lynne Leggett; her mother, Ethel H. Stallings; a grandson, Shay Chenault Jr.; three sisters, Irene Stallings, Dorothy Stallings, and Alice Keck. Mrs. Leggett was a customer service representative with Lucent Technologies. McBRIDE
Mr. Alan McBride, husband of Joan McBride, passed on Friday, June 13, 1997, at Johnston-Willis Hospital. Alan came over to this country from England at the age of 7. He held a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Southeast University and a Masters in Fiscal Administration from Columbia University-Washington D.C. He was in the Marine Corps from 1942-1946, at which time he entered the IRS as a Special Agent. He retired in 1972 as Assistant Regional Commissioner of Intelligence Division-New York Region after 33 years of service with the IRS, where among the positions he held was "Chief" of Intelligence Division in Richmond. He is survived by two sons, Richard W. McBride an Instructional Systems Specialist in the Aerial Delivery Dept. at Ft. Lee, and Dr. Robert E. McBride of Innsbrook Acupuncture and Chiropractic Center; one stepson, James Hanvey; four stepdaughters, Hope Huntley, Linda Pritchett, Cheryl Morris, all of Powhatan, and Cathy Vicha of Minn.; two daughters-in-law, Chung-Min McBride, and Beverly McBride; a sister, Hilda Herrington of Caroline County; two granddaughters and a host of step-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 17, 7 p.m. at Red Lane Baptist Church, 2095 Red Lane Rd. (Rt. 628), Powhatan, Va. Church will receive flowers between 4 to 5 p.m.

Richard Thomas McCrone, 85, of Richmond, died Friday, June 13, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Marie Musgrove McCrone; sister, Emily McCrone Dodl; daughters, Susan Pierce Lancaster of Roanoke, Sherry Pierce Martin of Farmville, and Margaret Pierce Frank of Houston, Texas; three sons-in-law; eight grandchildren; two nephews, Norman Richard Dodl of Blacksburg, and James Henry Dodl of Laurel, Md. Mr. McCrone was a graduate of the University of Richmond, and a member of Christadelphian Hall Ecclesia, a retiree of General Electric Lighting Division, and member of ODK and Illuminating Engineering Society. Mr. Ervin Townsend Powers Jr., 51, of Midlothian, died June 13, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn DeRuyter Powers; three children, Jennifer P. Mewshaw of Raleigh, N.C., Ervin T. Powers III of Columbia, S.C. and Rebecca G. Powers of Midlothian; his mother, Mrs. Duncan D. McColl of Bennettsville, S.C.; his grandmother, Mrs. P. O. Hendricks of Pickens, S.C.; his sister, Beverly P. Alexander of Memphis, Tenn.; his brother, Paul H. Powers of Columbia, S.C. Ervin received his undergraduate degree at Duke University and his graduate degrees at the University of Michigan and the University of South Carolina. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and a Captain in the U.S. Naval Reserves. He was a Senior Research Associate at E. I. duPont, a licensed Professional Engineer, and a lifetime member of ASME. Anna "Lou" McGee Puster, 59, died Thursday, June 12, 1997. A native of Winston-Salem, N.C., she had been a resident of Richmond for three years before moving to Hampton in 1976. Mrs. Puster had been a social participant at the Moose Lodge, the Samis Grotto Masonic Lodge and the Acca Temple Shrine, all in Richmond. She was a member of the Langley Officers Wives Club and was a volunteer at the Langley Thrift Shop. Mrs. Puster is survived by her husband, Richard Lee Puster of Hampton; a son, Mark R. Brown of Richmond; her father, Herman McGee of Little Rock, Ark.; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred A. and Lucille C. Puster of Richmond; and her sister-in-law, Carol Puster of Richmond. The family will receive friends Sunday 4 to 6 p.m., and then again on Monday 2 to 3 p.m. at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home. Bernard Martin Rudy of Richmond, died June 14, 1997. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Shirley Cohen Rudy; daughter and son-in- law, Leslie and Marvin Weifblatt; son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Mary Rudy; beloved sister and brother-in- law, Blanche (BeeGee) and Morton Gary; brother-in-law, Julian Lipsitz; and two grandchildren.
