Margie
Carter Cooper, age 81, of Stuart, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at Pioneer Community Hospital in Stuart.
She was born in Patrick County on July 19, 1930 to the late Arthur and Vergie Hazelwood Carter.
She was of the Baptist faith, had retired from DuPont in Martinsville with approximately 30 years of service.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Jan Cooper of Archdale, N.C.; two granddaughters, Denise Cooper
Smith and April Cooper; two great-grandchildren; and one brother and sister-in-law, Clevis and Lillian
Carter of Stuart. four nieces and one nephew.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with the Rev. Bernard Handy officiating. Burial was in Patrick Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Roger Carter, Karl Weiss, Bill Franklin, Ricky Medford, Ronnie Turner and Mike Vaughn.
DARLENE R. CRENSHAW
Darlene Rogers Crenshaw, 52, of Martinsville, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
She was born on January 13, 1960, in Princeton, W.Va., and was a daughter of the late Scott Edward Rogers and Harvelyn Grim Rogers. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Darrell Rogers, Dean Rogers and Scott "Scottie" Edward Rogers Jr.
She was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Axton, where she served with the Acteens and the nursery for 20 years. She was also a member of the Dyers Store Ruritan Club. She had worked at both Pluma and DDI, and made jewelry and hats to give to other cancer patients at Memorial Hospital and to send to the children at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Surviving are her husband, Carlton Crenshaw Jr. of the home; two sons, Carlton Crenshaw III of Fort Campbell, Ky., and Bradley Scott Crenshaw of the home; three sisters, Charlene Goad of Bassett, Teresa Rorrer of Stuart and Janet Coleman of Fieldale; and four brothers, Kenny Rogers, Jeff Rogers, Donald Rogers and Danny Rogers, all of Stuart.
The funeral service was held Saturday at Mount Vernon Baptist Church with the Revs Michael Jordan and George Agnew officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Larry Cassada, Danny Coleman, Junior Evans, Steve Goad, Wayne Harris, Dudley Herndon, Butch Kimball, Randy Richardson and Tommy Wells.

JOAN W. HARBOUR
Joan
Williams Harbour, age 68, of Stuart, died Saturday, March 10, 2012, at her home.
She was born on February 16, 1944 in Roanoke and was a daughter of the late Paul and Ruth Dobbins Williams. She was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Martha Jane Williams.
She was a member of Harvest Worship Center in Stuart.
Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Kenneth Harbour of the home; one daughter, Darlene Boyd of Meadows of Dan; one son, Tracy Harbour of Burlington, N.C.; two grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Penrod of Glade Hill and Judy Flinchum of Elliston; and one brother, Kenneth
Williams of Warrenton.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Harvest Worship Center with Pastor David Coleman officiating. Burial was in the Jack's Creek Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
Arrangements were by Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
C. KEITH HOPKINS
C. Keith Hopkins, age 56, of Stuart, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Patrick County on June 7, 1955. He was preceded in death by his mother, Reva Washburn Hopkins.
He had worked at Goodyear in Danville.
Surviving are his wife, Lynn Hopkins of the home; two daughters, Casey Northam of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Monica Lively of the home; one son, Justin Hopkins of Dry Pond; his father, Clarence Hopkins of Patrick Springs; one brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Eva Hopkins of Stuart; and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with the Rev. Jack Foley officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, and at other times at the home.
DOROTHY B. MARTIN
Dorothy B. Martin, 97, of Trent Store Lane, Spencer, died Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Pioneer Health Services of Patrick County in Stuart.
She was born in Henry County on December 1, 1914, and was a daughter of the late John
Brown and Mary F. Whitehead Brown. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John N. Martin; a son, Orlando Martin; a sister, Lucy Manns; and a brother, Jessie Brown.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary B. Moss of Lakewood, Wash., and Sherdinia Cross of Spencer; three sons, John R. Martin, James L. Martin and Isaiah Martin, all of Columbus, Oh.; one sister, America B. Scales of Spencer; 22 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and 38 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at noon today (Wednesday) at the C.R.V. Hairston Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home. Elder Joseph Scales will officiate. Burial will be in Patrick Memorial Gardens in Stuart.
The family will receive friends for one hour before the service Wednesday at the funeral home and other times at the home.
JANELLE H. ROLFE
Janelle H. Rolfe, 63, of Midlothian, formerly of Patrick County, died March 10, 2012.
Survivors include her husband, Edward A. Rolfe of Midlothian; son, Justin A. Rolfe of Charlotte, N.C.; her mother, Lucille Hopkins; three sisters, Mary Wertz, Joyce Overstreet, and Martha Love; and two brothers, John Hopkins and Jerry Hopkins.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. today (Wednesday), March 14, 2012, at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
Memorial contributions may be made to either the American Cancer Society or Sycamore Baptist Church in Buffalo Ridge, Virginia.
MELVIN T. WOODS
Melvin "Tom" Woods, 74, of Martinsville, died Sunday, March 11, 2012, at his residence.
He was born in Stokes County, N.C., on July 31, 1937 and was a son of the late Harry Woods and the late Gracie Bullins Woods. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Reece Woods; a son, Tommy Woods Jr. and a sister, Betty Overby.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are one daughter, Becky Hodges of Rocky Mount; one granddaughter; one brother, Bill Woods of Critz; and sisters, Nancy Hooker of Bassett, Barbara Hylton of Woolwine, Brenda Goad of Stokes, N.C.
The funeral service will be held at the Bassett Funeral Service chapel at 1 p.m. Thursday with Steve Oakes officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Martinsville and Henry County Veterans' Honor Guard.
BECKY M. WORTHINGTON
Becky Martin Worthington, age 68, of Lawsonville, N.C., passed away on Sunday evening, March 11, 2012, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C.
She was born in Stokes County, N.C., on May 3, 1943 to the late Jess Worth Martin and Murphy Irene Joyce Martin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, James Joseph Worthington Jr.; a brother, Kenneth Martin; and a sister, Linda Davis.
She was a medical technologist at Palo Verde Hospital in Blythe, Calif., for 24 years, Stokes Reynolds Hospital in Danbury, N.C., for five years and at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County for five years. She was of the Lutheran faith, a very passionate seamstress and an avid quilter.
Mrs. Worthington is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James Joseph Worthington III and Yvette of Montclair, Calif.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer Jean Frew and George of Warsaw, Ohio and Jessica Joyce Southard and Douglas of Lawsonville; five grandchildren, Amanda Worthington, Amber Worthington, Jacqueline Southard, Nathaniel Worthington and Jennifer
HAILEY L. ADKINS
Hailey LeAnn "Little Bubbles" Adkins, seven-day-old daughter of Donnie Adkins and Amy Ragsdale Adkins of Stuart, died Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C.
She was born March 21, 2012, in Winston-Salem.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are two brothers, Dylan Henderson and Cory Lewis; grandparents, Booker Adkins, Mary Adkins, Donna Stanfield, Al Stanfield, Lester Gardner, Barbara Ragsdale and Bill Ragsdale; and aunts and uncles.
The funeral was held Sunday at Bassett Funeral Service.
SHIRLEY C. BOWMAN
Shirley Dimple Collins Bowman, age 70, of Mount Airy, N.C., died Thursday March 29, 2012, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C.
She was born November 21, 1941 in Patrick County to the late Thomas T. and Minnie Bowman Collins.
She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are three sons, Gary Bowman of Sanford, N.C., Timothy Bowman of Mount Airy and Phillip Bowman of Dobson, N.C.; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Georgia Puckett and Jean Scott, both of Ararat; and one brother, Clifford Collins of Fries.
Funeral services were held Sunday at the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with services conducted by the Rev. Darren Slate. Burial was in the Korners Grove Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.

GARY F. GUYNN
Gary Franklin Guynn, age 60, of Mount Airy, N.C., died Friday morning, March 30, 2012, at his home.
He was born February 4, 1952 in Floyd County and was a son of Cletus Marie Goad Guynn and the late John Franklin Guynn. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Guynn, and a brother, Randy Guynn.
He was retired from Collinsworth Furniture and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn G. Guynn of the home; one son, Richard Dale Guynn of Claudville; one grandson; his mother, Cletus Marie Goad Guynn of Mount Airy; and one brother, Joseph Guynn in Cana.
A graveside service was held Sunday at Oak Grove Baptist Church cemetery by the Rev. Johnny Easter.
Arrangements were by Moody Funeral Home.
