Lowell E. Tucker
VIRGINIA BEACH -- Lowell ``Tucker" Estes Tucker passed away on Sept. 2, 1999.
Tucker was retired from the Ford Plant after 35 years of employment, and also retired from the city of Virginia Beach. He was a member of the Princess Anne Masonic Lodge, the Khedive Temple of Chesapeake, the Virginia Beach Shrine Club, Scottish Rite of Freemason, Aragona Moose Lodge, American Legion, A.O.P.A., and the Civil Air Patrol. He was a 1948 graduate of Norview High School.
Survivors include his loving wife, Marilyn Tucker; a son, Lowell ``Buddy" E. Tucker Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Virginia Beach; a stepdaughter,.Janice
Williams and her husband, Daniel, of Virginia Beach; a stepson, Jack Hansen and his wife, Debbie, of Louisiana; two sisters, Mary Lois Plaster of Virginia Beach and Ruth Marcy of Alexandria, Va.; and nine grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
Susan H. Wisniewski
VIRGINIA BEACH -- Susan Homich Wisniewski, 70, of Virginia Beach, died Sept. 2, 1999, in Sentara Virginia Beach Hospital. Mrs. Wisniewski was born Nov. 10, 1928, in Cairnbrook, Pa., and was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Nancy Homich. She was a member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Virginia Beach. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Adam, John, Frank and Nicholas, and her sister Nancy.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Edmund, and her loving children, sons, James and John, both of Virginia Beach, and daughter, Jacqueline of Denver, Colo.; three grandchildren, Deborah, Sarah and Joshua Wisniewski; daughter-in-law, Leah Wisniewski; four sisters, Mary, Helen, Anna, and Judy; and two brothers, Michael and William.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebreataed at 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Gregory's Catholic Church by Father Anselm Ober. Burial will follow at Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery. The family will receive friends at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Robert C. Wolf
VIRGINIA BEACH -- Robert C. Wolf, 83, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Mr. Wolf was born in Astoria, N.Y., and had been a resident of Virginia Beach since 1952. Mr. Wolf was a veteran of World War II and a retired U.S. Navy chief quartermaster with 26 years of service. He was also retired from the Virginia Beach Post Office as a supervisor and the Virginia Beach Sheriff's Department. He was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Bernice Mary Wolf.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach. Mr. Wolf was a member of the Virginia Beach Masonic Lodge 274, the Norfolk Valley of the Scottish Rite and the Khedive Temple, where he achieved emeritus status with the Drum and Bugle Corps.
Survivors include his daughter, Susan Carlson and her husband, Dr. Richard E. Carlson, of Virginia Beach; his three grandchildren, Christopher T. Holland, Stephanie A. Holland and Lindsey P. Holland, all of Virginia Beach; a nephew, Kenneth Hillenmayer of New Jersey; a cousin, Michael Maier of Penryn, Calif.; and many friends in Yuma, Ariz., and Cincinnati.
Dr. J. Scottie Griffin will conduct a church service at 4 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery.

Judy Zimmerly
VIRGINIA BEACH -- Judith Anne Zimmerly, 67, a resident of Virginia Beach since 1962, passed away in her home on Sept. 2, 1999.
Born April 14, 1932, in Kalamazoo, Mich., she was the daughter of the late John P. and Mildred Y. Farrell Sr.
Her 67 years on our Lord's earth was highlighted by her passion for life and the love and unity she brought to her husband of 46 years and family. Her contribution to her family and friends will be remembered for decades to come. Judy will be truly missed by her family and all the lives she touched.
She is survived by her husband, Retired Lt. Cmdr. and Naval aviator Arthur G. Zimmerly III; her beloved stepmother of 59 years, Editha May Farrell; seven brothers and sisters, John P. Farrell Jr., Joan L. Farrell-Tuke, Jeffrey H. Farrell, Steven E. Farrell, William Farrell, Thomas J. Farrell; and eight children and spouses, Arthur G. Zimmerly IV and wife, Donna, John P. Zimmerly and wife, Celeste, Steven F. Zimmerly and wife, Lynda, Lynn M. Zimmerly, Mary T. Zimmerly Straley and husband, Roger, Patrick M. Zimmerly and wife, Patricia, Timothy E. Zimmerly and wife, Mary, and Thomas J. Zimmerly and wife, Michelle; and in Judy's words her ``11 precious Grandchildren."
A memorial Mass in memory of Judy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1999, at the Little Creek Amphibious Base Chapel. Walter R. Woodard
CARROLLTON -- Walter ``Woody" Ray Woodard, 79, a resident of Carrollton for more than 36 years, died Friday, Sept. 3, 1999.
He was a native of Lenoir County, N.C., and retired from Newport News Shipbuilding in 1984 as a crane operator with 30 years of service. Mr. Woodard was a member of Central Baptist Church, Hampton, and the Carrollton Hunt Club. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine Durant Woodard; a son, Edsel D. Durant of Smithfield; a sister, Annie W. Hayes of Pelzer, S.C.; and a grandson, Brian D. Durant.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Suffolk, with the Rev. G. Thornton Hall of Central Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield. OSSINING, N.Y. -- Anna Balassone died Sept. 3, 1999, at Bethel Home, after a long illness.
She was born in Italy on April 24, 1910, to Nicholas and Sabina DeFlavis Guiseppe. She was a member of St. Ann's Church and a former member of St. Ann's Sodality.
She is survived by her husband, Angelo of the home; two sons, Angelo Jr. of Congers, N.Y., and Donald of Ossining; two daughters, Loretta
Brown of Montrose and Patricia Malispina of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Peter Guiseppe of Naples, Fla., and Barney Guiseppe of Ossining. She was predeceased by a brother, Albert Guiseppe; a sister, Lillia Streany; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The body will lie in repose on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Leach & Thomas Inc. Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ann's Church. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Ann's Church, Ossining.
Willie McDonald
NEW YORK CITY -- Willie McDonald departed Sept. 1, 1999. A native of Norfolk, he lived in New York for 40 years and retired from Lenox Hill Hospital, New York.
He was predeceased by his mother, Maggie McDonald; father Willie McDonald; two sisters, Edith Simpson and Beatrice Douglas. Survivors include his wife, Gloria Peet of New York; one daughter, Linda Venn of Freeport, N.Y.; one nephew, Shedwick Douglas; three nieces, Jacqueline, Gwendolen and Sharon Douglas; one cousin, Rudolph Richardson of Norfolk; and a host of friends from Norfolk and New York, including a special friend, June Sykes.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. today at J.
Foster Phillips Chapel, Jamaica, N.Y.
