Judge R. Robinette
A Mass of the Resurrection for Judge R. Robinette will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Monday in St. Anne's Catholic Church.
The Rev. Thomas Ianucci will be celebrant.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Glenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Robinette, 89, of Bristol Tennessee, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, at his home.
He was born in Pennington Gap, Va., a son of the late Margaret Osborne Robinette and James Morgan Robinette, and had lived in Bristol since 1937.
He was a graduate of Pacolet High School in South Carolina and attended Lincoln Memorial University on a baseball scholarship.
In 1938, he founded Strong-Robinette Bag Co. of Bristol, which he operated as president until it was sold to Stone Container Corp. in 1985.
He coached Little League baseball in Bristol, was a life member of the Elks Lodge and the Civitan Club and a long-time member of the Country Club of Bristol.
He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church and served on the Board of the former Virginia National Bank.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Catherine Lynch Robinette; two daughters, Anne R. Craig of Singer Island, Fla., and Jean R.
Green of Bristol Tennessee; five sons, John W. Robinette, J. Alan Robinette, Joseph R. Robinette, Nolan R. Robinette and Paul A. Robinette, all of Bristol Tennessee; 20 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Among survivors are four daughters-in-law, Nicole L. Robinette, Diane P. Robinette, Dana B. Robinette and Annie B. Robinette; two sons-in-law, Steven L. Craig and Dr. John A. Green.
Mr. Robinette was an avid sportsman.
Pallbearers will be Mr. Robinette's grandsons, Martin Robinette, Judge Robinette, Craig Robinette, Steven Robinette, David Green, Alan Green, Ryan Craig, Dan Robinette and Noble Robinette.
Honorary pallbearers will be Vance Graham Jr., Neil Mooney, William Hepburn, Richard Horner, Charles Worley, Jack Booher, William Bouton and Louis Phetteplace.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Anne's School, 300 Euclid Ave., Bristol, VA 24201, the Wellmont Hospice House, 280 Steele's Road, Bristol, TN 37620, or any other favorite charity.

SWORDS CREEK, Va. -- Funeral services for Jettie Whited
Smith will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Honaker Funeral Home Chapel.
Ival Mitchell, Leslie Ritchie and the Rev. Carl Robinson will officiate.
Burial will be in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va.
Mrs.
Smith died Saturday, Feb. 19. 2000, in Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands.
She was born in Swords Creek, Va., a daughter of the late James and Ida Miller Bostic.
She spent her early life in Swords Creek, moving to Akron, Ohio, and Kentucky and returning to Swords Creek in 1980.
She was the widow of Charles Whited and Onis Smith.
Surviving are a sister, Lola Miller of Swords Creek; a half-brother, Odell Bostic of Swords Creek; three stepdaughters, Diana Taylor, Audrey Cains and Frances Williamson, all of McVeigh, Ky.; three stepsons, Kenneth Smith, Willard
Smith and Charles Ray Smith, all of McVeigh; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs.
Smith was also preceded in death by two sisters, Annie Dye and Bertha Smith; and four brothers, Stallard Bostic, the Rev. Howard Bostic, Hobert Bostic and Floyd Bostic.
Pallbearers will be John L. Bostic, Clarence Bostic, Arnold Bostic, Randall Dye, Charles Gent, Robert Gent and Mark Bostic.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Emad Kowatli and Dr. Roy Gomez.

Pauline S. Stamas
DAYTON, Ohio -- Pauline Stephenson Stamas, 77, of 279 Pamela Ave., died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, at her home.
She was born and raised in Washington County, a daughter of the late Hugh A. and Lydia Boro Stephenson, and had lived in Dayton for more than 50 years.
She was a member of the Church of God in Dayton.
She retired from General Motors and was a member of several women's clubs. She was the widow of John Stamas.
Surviving are four sisters, Verna Schmidt of Hampton, Va., Kathleen Orr of Knoxville, Hallie White of Bristol Virginia, and Evelyn Hurley of Bluff City; three brothers, LeRoy E. Stephenson of Clinchburg, Va., Hugh A. Stephenson Jr. of Bristol Tennessee, and William H. Stephenson of Oak Ridge, Tenn; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 8 p.m. in Farris Funeral Chapel.
The Rev. Timothy Bird will officiate.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Old Glade Presbyterian Cemetery.
Those choosing to attend the graveside services may assemble at the cemetery Wednesday afternoon.
Mrs. Stamas, an avid bowler, was also preceded in death by a brother, James Franklin Stephenson.
Among survivors is a special niece, Betty Lowe of Hampton.
Betty was a special angel to Pauline in her time of need and gave her time, love and compassion.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Farris Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Old Glade Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund or to the Church of God, Salem Ave., Dayton, Ohio.
Alexander I. Stevens
LEBANON -- Alexander Isaac Stevens, infant son of Lewis E. Jr. and Jennifer W. Stevens, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Surviving, besides his parents, are maternal grandparents, Billy and Peggy Webb of Lebanon; paternal grandparents, Lewis Sr. and Ruby Stevens of Council, Va.; maternal great-grandparents, James and Eva Jean Webb and Frank and Thelma Salyer, all of Lebanon; paternal great-grandparents, Isaac and Bertha Stevens of Council; and maternal great-great-grandparents, Willie and Georgia Elam of Lebanon.
Graveside services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in Freehill Baptist Church Cemetery in the Moccasin Community.

BLUFF CITY -- Juanita Sturgill, 82, of 1221 Old Elizabethton Highway, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.

LEBANON -- Funeral services for Nicklous Ed Tiller will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in Russell County Funeral Home Chapel.

Nicklous Ed Tiller, 11, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, in Russell County Medical Center.

Elizabeth M. Whitaker
Funeral services for Elizabeth M. Whitaker will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Euclid Avenue Baptist Church.

Mrs. Whitaker, 79, of 700 Park St., Bristol, Va., died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Bristol, a daughter of the late Walter E. Martin and Una Tate Martin.
She attended East Tennessee State University and retired as a secretary at Bristol Virginia High School.
She was a member of Euclid Avenue Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for 54 years.
Surviving are her husband, Ralph Whitaker; two daughters, Una Amanda Musick of Honaker and Sandra May Buckles of Montpelier, Va.; and two granddaughters, Laura Elizabeth Musick and Elizabeth Fay Buckles.
Among survivors is a cousin, Patricia Burton of Nashville.
While employed at Bristol Virginia High School, Mrs. Whitaker had been a real positive influence on many young people.
Pallbearers will be Tim Buchanan, Stan Wagner, Walter Conley, Bill Thomas, Clyde Rouse and Danny Whitaker.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Stewart, Dr. John Green, Dr. Robert Blanton, Tim Outlaw, Robert Coleman and the men of Euclid Avenue Baptist Church.

Jack Whittaker
Jack Whittaker, 65, of Bristol, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Bristol, a son of the late Harley Millard Whittaker and Margaret Susan Feathers Whittaker, and had lived in Indiana and Washington State for many years, returning to the Bristol area in 1998.
He was a former employee of Malcolm's Meat Market.
Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Leonard of North Carolina; three sons, Bryan Whittaker of Bluff City, Greg Whittaker and Bubba Whittaker; three sisters, Katherine Booher of Bristol Tennessee, and Frances Hall and Mary "Jerri" Montona, both of Bristol Virginia; four brothers, Lewis Whittaker of Bristol Virginia, Gene Whittaker of Cornelius, Ore., and Frank Whittaker and Fred Wittaker, both of Vancouver, Wash.; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted in Bristol.
The body has been sent to Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel in Vancouver.
