Thomas Francis Journey, age 87, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2002 in St. Mary's Hospital. Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Marie; a grandson, Tommy Journey Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Marie Journey; son, William Thomas Journey Sr.; daughter-in-law, Joyce Murphy Journey; grandson, Brian Slade Journey, all of Richmond; great-granddaughters, Lauren Elizabeth Journey and Brittany Michelle Czahara of Baton Rouge, La.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ellen and Will Berry and Maureen and George Thomas of Richmond; brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Lou Journey. Tom retired from Elam and Funsten Real Estate and worked part time with Ukrop's during his retirement years. Tom was a member of the Baraca Class of Northminster Baptist Church. Leah Reynolds Mills McKimmie of Richmond died Sunday, August 25, 2002. She was the widow of Charles G. McKimmie and Addington John Mills. She is survived by her son, John Auburn Mills and his wife, Judy; two grandsons, John Graham Mills of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Jason Reynolds Mills and his wife, McKay of Chapel Hill, N.C.; three sisters, Ollie R. Eddins, Eunice R. Donald and Evelyn R. Johnson, all of Richmond. She was also predeceased by a sister, Alma Grinels and brothers, William and Peyton Reynolds. Mrs. McKimmie was a registered nurse and a graduate of the Grace Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church and The Country Club of Virginia. Samuel Trent Ranson II, died Saturday, August 24, 2002 at the age of 76. He was a son of William Howard and Hazel Ancell Ranson of Bremo Bluff, Va. Mr. Ranson served in the Army during World War II. He was a graduate of Richmond Professional Institute (now VCU). For many years, he taught chemistry at Highland Springs High School, where he also served as Chairman of the Science Dept. He is survived by his sisters, Margaret Ranson Wallace of Baltimore, Md., and Gertrude Ranson White of Bremo Bluff; his brother, Howard Winn Ranson of Richmond; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27, at Grace Episcopal Church, Bremo Bluff. Memorial donations may be made to the church.
