Joan G. Cease
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Joan Galliher Cease, 63, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, in Baptist Hospital East in Louisville.
She was born and grew up in Bristol (Sullivan County), Tenn., and lived in the Louisville area since 1960.
Surviving are her husband, Ronald Cease; two daughters, Teresa Buky of Mount Washington, Ky., and Dana Fallot of Louisville; a son, Wayne Grubbs of Louisville; three sisters, Louise Phillippe, Ruby Monger and Dorothy Penley, all of Bristol Tennessee; a brother, Billy Galliher of Bristol; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday in Louisville.

Walter B. DeBord
Funeral services for Walter Ben DeBord will be conducted Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in Farris Funeral Chapel. The Revs. Lyons
Smith and Roger Hearl will officiate. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Abingdon.
Mr. DeBord, 57, of 516 Old Abingdon Highway, Bristol, Va., died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon.
He was a son of Ettie J. DeBord of Abingdon and the late Ben H. DeBord.
Pallbearers will be Gary Davison, Ben Heath, Sheridan Pope, Mike Broome, Bill Chapman and David Nunley. Honorary pallbearers will be William Green, Danny Osborne and Maurice Reed.
Farris Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Ollie H. Dye
CEDAR BLUFF -- Ollie Ellen Hubbard Dye, 90, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, in a Tazewell hospital.
She was born in Swords Creek, Va., a daughter of the late Ira and Polly Miller Hubbard, both Swords Creek natives. She lived in the Cedar Bluff area for the past 50 years and was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith.
She was the widow of Arnold Dye.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Dorcie) Osborne of Cedar Bluff; a sister, Dolly Hess of Honaker; a brother, Cleo Hubbard of Swords Creek; three grandchildren, Lee Richardson, Kenny
Brown and Darian Smith; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands. The Rev. Toby Hubbard will officiate. Burial will be in Russell Memorial Cemetery in Lebanon.
Mrs. Dye was also preceded in death by four brothers, Giles, Earl, Whorley and Wiley Hubbard.
Pallbearers will be Gary Breedlove, Cecil Dye, Rafty Dye, Eulis Bandy, Eric Hubbard and Lonnie Hubbard.

Ellen C. Hanges
Ellen Caudill Hanges, 88, of Moore Street, Bristol, Va., died Saturday, Jan. 8, 1999, in NHC Healthcare of Bristol.
She was born in Knott County, Ky., a daughter of the late Preston and Margaret Stone Caudill, and lived several years in Bristol.
She was the widow of William Spiro Caudill, was a retired factory worker and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum in Mountain View Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Hale will officiate. Private burial will follow.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 1:55 p.m. Monday at the cemetery.

Evelyn B. Keith
Evelyn B. Keith, 93, of Bristol Tennessee, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, at her home.
She was born in Atlanta, a daughter of the late Otis W. and Ella Irene Sitton Black, and lived in Bristol since 1995.
She was a former member of First United Methodist Church of Atlanta and a current member of First United Methodist Church of Bristol. She was the widow of Gay P. Keith.
Surviving are two daughters, Ellyn K. Houston of Bristol Tennessee and Paula K. Merritt of Houston; a sister, Mary Fanning of Atlanta; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a nephew.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. at the graveside in Glenwood Cemetery. The Rev. John W. Farmer will officiate.
Mrs. Keith was also preceded in death by a son, Gay P. Keith Jr.

Venus Kelly
BIG STONE GAP -- Funeral services for Venus Masters Kelly will be conducted Sunday at 7 p.m. in Gilliam Funeral Home. Greg Townsend, minister, will officiate. Graveside services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in Glencoe Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the services.
Mrs. Kelly, 87, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, in Baptist Hospital in Knoxville.
She was a lifelong resident of Big Stone Gap, a member of First Christian Church of Big Stone Gap and a former elementary school teacher at East Stone Gap School.
She was the widow of Ernest Kelly.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Dick (Ruth)
Brown of Powell, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Teresa Moscrip and Chris Kelly, both of Palm Bay, Michael
Brown of Orlando, Fla., Rick
Brown of Cookeville and Kelly Brooks of Lexington, Ky.; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Kelly was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald Kelly; and a brother, Harry Masters.
Among survivors are a daughter-in-law, Peggy Kelly of Melbourne, Fla.; and a sister-in-law, Maxie Masters.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday in Gilliam Funeral Home.

Martin Kilgore
HAYSI -- Martin Kilgore, 82, of the Fork Bottom Section, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, in Dickenson County Medical Center.
He was born in Pike County, a son of the late William Dock and Josephine Belcher Kilgore. He was a retired coal miner, a member of UMWA Local 7170 and a charter member of Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, June Epling Kilgore; two daughters, Diane Reedy and Rebecca Fuller, both of Haysi; four sons, Billy Kilgore of Ridgeway, Va., Joe P. Kilgore of Clintwood, Keith Kilgore of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Marty Chris Kilgore of Haysi; two sisters, Patsy Kilgore of Haysi and Lois McBrayer of Shelby, N.C.; a brother, Junior Kilgore of Statesville, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. in Haysi Funeral Home. The Revs. Danny Sluss, Leon Sykes and Finas Hill will officiate. Burial will be in Belcher Cemetery in Haysi.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Kilgore, Joshua Kilgore, Brian Kilgore, Jay Lambert and Steven French. Honorary pallbearers will be Clayton Belcher, Zane Counts, David Powers, Berchie Belcher, Roger Stanley, Andrew Mullins, Willie Mullins and Kermit Wallace.

Otis Mabe
NATURAL BRIDGE STATION, Va. -- Otis Mabe, 66, of 418 Shafer Lane, formerly of Richlands, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, in a Roanoke hospital.
He was born in Richlands, a son of the late Stroda and Maggie Reedy Mabe, both Tazewell County, Va., natives. He lived in the Natural Bridge area for the past 35 years and was a member of High Bridge Presbyterian Church.
He was a 1953 graduate of Richlands High School, where he played football. He received a bachelor of arts degree from East Tennessee State University and his master's degree from Radford University.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of Special Services and played semipro football for the Army.
He coached football and basketball at Science Hill Junior High School in
Johnson City, taught and coached in Okeechobee, Fla., taught in Roanoke City Schools and was a principal at Effinger Grade School. He taught and coached at Natural Bridge High School and taught in Natural Bridge Elementary School in Rockbridge County School System. He was a member of the National Teachers Association.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Sparger Mabe; a son, Otis S. Mabe of Natural Bridge Station; a daughter, Katherine Mabe of Bristol Virginia; a sister, Emma Mabe of Dunellen, N.J.; and a brother, Delmar Mabe of Dunellen.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands. Dr. James Hollenhead will officiate. Burial will be in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va., with military graveside rites by members of Casey-Shortt VFW Post 9640 of Richlands and Disabled American Veterans Tazewell County Chapter 31.
Mr. Mabe was an exceptional athlete, coach and educator and touched the lives of thousands. He never lost his love for football.
Pallbearers will be Paul Cook, the Rev. Jerry Casey, the Rev. Bill Shook, Jim McGlothlin, J.P. Hefner, Howard Patton, Raymond Elswick and Dale Smith.
