Wally Jones
BLUEFIELD, Va. -- Wally "Jack" Jones, 78, of Route 3, Falls Mills community, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, in James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Mountain Home, Tenn.
He was a former resident of Bristol and a former employee of Frizzell Construction Co. He moved to the Bluefield area several years ago and retired from his construction business. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, attaining the rank of staff sergeant. He was a life member of DAV and VFW Post 9696 of Bluefield. He was of the Protestant faith.
Surviving are his wife, Johnie Worley Jones; a brother, Billy
Jones of Kingston, Tenn.; two sisters, Hazel Sexton of McDowell, Ky., and Cleo Abernathy of Charlotte, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Blevins Funeral Home in Bristol. The Rev. Howard Shaver will officiate. Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Mountain Home. Those attending the graveside services should meet at 12:30 p.m. at the Cemetery, where military rites will be by Patton-Crosswhite VFW Post 6975.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday in Blevins Funeral Home.
Walter M. Jones
ABINGDON -- Graveside services for Walter M.
Jones will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery. Junior Gobble will officiate.
Mr. Jones, 81, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home or any time at the home of Jerry Jones, 26219 Watauga Road, Abingdon.

Mary Lou Lyall
CLINTWOOD -- Mary Lou Lyall, 85, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, in Dickenson County Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County, the widow of Lonzie Lyall and of the Old Regular Baptist faith.
Surviving are five sons, Alvin Lyall, Palmer Lyall and Billy Lyall, all of Clintwood, Rabon Lyall of Triangle and Roy Lyall of Damascus; a daughter, Rita Delaney of Clintwood; three brothers, Lonzo Blansett of Manassas, Curtis Blansett of Clinchco and Johnny Blansett of North Carolina; a sister, Frances Russell of North Carolina; 18 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in Clintwood Funeral Home. Elders Frank O'Quinn and David O'Quinn will officiate. Burial will be in Lyall Family Cemetery, Route 3, Clintwood.
Mrs. Lyall was also preceded in death by a son, Aubrey Lyall.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home, where a song service will be held at 7 p.m.

Gaines G. McGlothlin
KINGSPORT -- Gaines G. McGlothlin, 91, of East Carters Valley died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, in Wexford House.
He was born in Honaker, Va., a son of the late Arthur and Virgie Jackson McGlothlin. He was the widower of Gladys Salley McGlothlin. He was employed with the Kingsport Press for 15 years and was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of Walnut Chapel Primitive Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Kit McGlothlin of Kingsport; four grandchildren, Greg McGlothlin, Derrick McGlothlin and Kim McGlothlin, all of Kingsport, and Gena McGlothlin Martin of Limestone, Tenn.; a great-granddaughter, Kylee Jordon McGlothlin of Kingsport; a foster son, Garland Burton of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 8 p.m. in Higher Ground Baptist Church by Scott County Funeral Home in Weber City, Va. Elders Gerald Hopkins, Basil Freeman and Allen Hensley will officiate. Music will be by the McGlothlin Family. Graveside services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Walnut Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Greg McGlothlin, Mark McGlothlin, Derrick McGlothlin, Martin Bagwell, Moe Martin, Tracy Burton, Chris McGlothlin and Jason Stanley.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday in the church.

Beatrice M. Meade
CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. -- Funeral services for Beatrice McCoy Meade will be conducted Sunday at 1 p.m. in Sadie Baker Memorial Chapel of Baker Funeral Home in Pound. The Revs. Bob Mullins and Lester Robinson will officiate. Burial will be in Meade Cemetery in Pound.
Mrs. Meade, 74, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, in Carilion New River Valley Medical Center in Radford.
Mrs. Meade was preceded in death by sister Ruth M. Couch.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Elizabaeth Morton
BLOUNTVILLE -- Elizabeth Ramsey Morton, 89, of 228 Market St. died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, in The Wexford House.
She was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County and a daughter of the late John David and Roxie Hart Ramsey. She was a homemaker and the widow of Valen Morton. She and her late husband operated the former Morton's Grocery. She attended Arcadia Union Church and was a Sunday School teacher.
Surviving are a son, John Morton; a sister, Lucy Ramsey Turner of Kingsport; two brothers, Clarence Ramsey and Joseph Ramsey, both of Kingsport; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 3:30 p.m. in East Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Steve Everroad, minister, and the Rev. Guy Tilley will officiate. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Morton was also preceded in death by an infant daughter; and three brothers, Charles, Henry and Whitley Ramsey.
She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother and grandmother.
Pallbearers will be Tim Harr, Vance Ramsey, Hal Turner, Lynn Turner, David Ramsey, Hayes Osborne, Carl Ramsey and Gale Ramsey.

Mrs. Musick, 85, of 412 Merriwood Drive, Bristol, Tenn., died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at her home.

Mr. Smith, 91, of Bristol Virginia, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, in National Health Care Center in Bristol, Va.

Robert G. Vencill
MEADOWVIEW -- Robert Gordon "Bobby" Vencill, 55, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon.
He was born in Russell County, a son of Roy Graybeal Vencill and Willellen Harper Vencill of Belfast, Va. He had lived in Washington County for the past 19 years and was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving, besides his parents, are a son, Kevin Vencill of Abingdon; a daughter, Karen Davidson of Lebanon; two sisters, Sandra Vencill and Debbie Vencill, both of Belfast; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 3:30 p.m. in Russell County Funeral Home Chapel in Lebanon. The Rev. Jerry Eggers will officiate. Burial will be in Ketron Memorial Gardens in Lebanon.
Among survivors are grandchildren, Eric Vencill, Austin Eckert and Mattison Davidson; and two special friends David Cullop and Sunni Cox.
