Larry D. Ziemann
Memorial graveside services for Larry D. Ziemann will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. on the property of the family on Hampshire Drive in Bristol Virginia by Weaver Funeral Home. The Rev. Jess Neal will officiate.
Mr. Ziemann, 52, of 24155 Hampshire Drive, Bristol, Va., died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Ontario, Canada, a son of Donald M. Ziemann and the late Marjorie Ziemann. He had lived in the Bristol area for about 15 years.
Surviving, besides his father, are his wife, Sue Ellen Ziemann; a daughter, Heather Leigh Ziemann; two brothers, Donald L. Ziemann of Abingdon and Robert S. Ziemann of Toledo, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call any time at the residence. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Nick V. Barb Sr.
Nickolas V. Barb Sr., 90, of 6150 Yukon Drive, Bristol, Va., died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a lifelong resident of Bristol Virginia and a member of Beech Grove United Methodist Church. He was owner and operator of N.V. Barb Trucking, which he started in the mid 1940s with Southern Maid//Foremost.
Surviving are his wife, Gladys Bays Barb; a daughter, Nell B. Crowe of Bristol Virginia; three sons, Gene Barb and Nick Barb Jr., both of Bristol Virginia, and Bob J. Barb of Bristol Tennessee; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 8:30 p.m. in Weaver Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Emmit Wilson and Richard Tallman will officiate. Graveside services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in Mountain View Mausoleum Chapel.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Travis Barb, Jason Barb, Clint Barb, Dan Crowe, Rick Guffey, Scott Van Hoy, Ron Hensley, Michael Milhorne and Eric Dolan. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Quillen, members of Upper Room Sunday School Class of Beech Grove Methodist Church, Bob Alvis, Ellis Mitchell, Ellis Worley, Doug Miller, John Kelsey, Ralph Dean, Dr. T.C. Greene, Dr. William Schermer, Dr. Michael Rowell, Dr. Fred Greear, Jack Blair, Nat Baker, Joe Lyons and Carl Welch.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. prior to services Friday in Weaver Funeral Home.

GROSECLOSE, Va. -- Brenda Riggins Bear, 52, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, in Smyth County Community Hospital.

Clyde Bise
CLINTWOOD -- Clyde Bise, 75, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, in Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center.
He was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County, a retired UMWA coal miner and attended Peuther Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ruth Bise; a brother, Curtis Bise of Rose Dale, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in Peuther Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Minister Joe Glenn Sluss will officiate. The body will be taken to the church an hour prior to services. Burial will be in Bise Cemetery, Route 1, Clintwood.
Pallbearers will be nephews and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Ayers Shortt, Arthur Mays, Ralph Stanley, Clarence Carty, Bob Cussins, Marshall Hughes, Bobby Stanley and Jerry Robinson.
The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Friday in the funeral home, where a song service will be held at 7 p.m.

Milton E. Brookman
PRINCETON, W.Va. -- Milton Edwin Brookman, 94, of 506 Reynolds Ave., died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, in Glenwood Park Retirement Village.
He was born in Bluefield, a son of the late Jerome Preston and Mary Bryant Brookman. He retired in 1970 as general foreman of N&S Railroad after 50 years of service. He had been a member of First Christian Church in Princeton since 1923, where he served as elder emeritus of the church. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the National Guard from 1923-26.
Surviving are a son, Milton Edwin Brookman Jr. of Bristol Tennessee; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday in Princeton.

Sadie V. Clark
SALTVILLE -- Sadie V. Clark, 76, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, in Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion.
She was a daughter of the late Robert E. and Cora Sage Clark and had been a resident in Valley Health Care Center. She was a member of Main Street Christian Church and a former cook at Saltville Elementary School.
Surviving are a nephew and three nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in D.R. Henderson Funeral Home. The Rev. Cal Hultgren and Barry Loupe will officiate. Burial will be in Baptist Cemetery in Glade Spring.
Miss Clark was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lee Clark and Virgil Clark; and three sisters, Elizabeth Clark, Louise Clark and Virginia Clark.
Among survivors are two aunts.
Pallbearers will be the men of Main Street Christian Church and Dr. Samuel Vernon.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the funeral service Saturday in D.R. Henderson Funeral Home.
Baxter Cook
NORTH TAZEWELL, Va. -- Funeral services for Baxter Cook will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. in Honaker Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Clyde Lambert and Ancil Childress will officiate. Entombment will be in Grandview Memory Gardens Mausoleum on the Bluefield-Tazewell Highway with military honors by Barnes-Beavers VFW Post 7136 of Tazewell.
Mr. Cook, 72, of Route 4, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, in a Bluefield, W.Va., hospital.
Pallbearers will be nephews.

William H. Cook
CHILHOWIE -- William Hillard Cook, 70, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, in Smyth County Community Hospital.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Edith H. Cook; a daughter, Jill C. Brooks of Chilhowie; three sons, Randy Cook and Curtis Cook, both of Chilhowie, and Fred Cook of Marion; two sisters, Lucille C. Blevins of Roanoke and Betty C. Hawks of Marion; a brother, Jimmy Cook of Chilhowie; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in Macedonia Baptist Church by Newberry Funeral Home. Pastor Joe Lambert will officiate. There will be no services in the funeral home. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from noon until service time Saturday in the church.

Casper N. Cregger
CERES, Va. -- Funeral services for Casper Cregger will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in Bradley's Funeral Home in Marion. The Rev. Mike Sage will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Cregger, 80, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, in Smyth County Community Hospital.
He had lived most of his life in Smyth County and was the widower of Ruby Cregger.
Surviving are two sons, Lee Cregger of Harrisburg, N.C., and David Cregger of Marion; a sister, Clair Sullivan of Hemet, Calif.; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Among survivors are grandchildren, Danny, Jessica, Denise and Benjamin.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday in Bradley's Funeral Home.
