PINEY FLATS -- Stillman H. "Tom" Bamman, of 392 Sportsman Dock Road, died Friday, April 2, 1999, at his home.
He was a native of Washington County, Va., and the widower of Donna Irene Bamman.
Mr. Bamman was a retired farmer and a member of the Hawridge Bible Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Beatrice Cross of Piney Flats; a son, Thomas Bamman of Surgoinsville; two sisters, Pearl Houser of Bristol, and Bertha Sproles of Monticello, Ind.; a brother, Otis Bamman of Blountville; a granddaughter; a grandson; and five great-grandchildren.

Marilyn J. Blankenship
GRUNDY -- Marilyn "Jo" Jessee Blankenship, 53, of the Little Prater Section, died Thursday, April 1, 1999, at her home.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Buchanan County, a member of Church of God, and a former employee of Food City with 21 years of service.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Litz Blankenship; a stepdaughter, Debby Blankenship of Grundy; a stepson, Timmy Blankenship of Grundy; four sisters, Helen Fuller of Grundy, Lois Ann Babbert of Gahanna, Ohio, Betty McElroy of St. Lucie, Fla., and Ruth "Jerry" White of Spotsylvania, Va.; two brothers, William L. Jessee of Stuart, Fla., and Jackie D. Jessee of Grundy; and four step-grandchildren.

Bruce D. Blevins, 60, of 1010 Newton St., Apt. 610, Bristol, Va., died Friday, April 2, 1999, in Bristol Regional medical Center.

William W. Burleson
William Wesley Burleson Sr., 75, of 212 Skyline Drive, Bristol, Tenn., died Friday, April 2, 1999, in Wellmont Hospice House.
He was a native of Avery County, N.C., and had lived in Bristol since 1951.
He attended Mars Hill College and was a graduate of Catawba College in Salisbury, N.C.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, and was vice-president and co-owner of Stauber Direct Sales, Inc., and Big Ben Stores, Inc.
Mr. Burleson was a member and elder of Central Presbyterian Church, and a member of Bristol Host Lions Club, The Elks Lodge, and The Country Club of Bristol.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Stone Burleson; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Lynn) Hodges of Charlotte, N.C.; two sons, William Wesley Burleson Jr. of Bristol Tennessee, and Dr. James Henry Burleson of Kingsport; two sisters, Edith Stronach of Marion, N.C., and Kay Wilkins of Plumbtree, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary S. Calhoun
WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. -- Mary Myrtle Street Calhoun, 82, formerly of Rowe, Va., died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at the home of her granddaughter in White Sulphur Springs.
She was a native of Skaggs, Va., and had resided in White Sulphur Springs since 1974, moving there from Richmond.
She was formerly employed in the maintenance department of Hanover Shoe Company in White Sulphur Springs and was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church.
She was the widow of Joseph Berry Street and Robert Calhoun.
Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy Cunningham of White Sulphur Springs, Virginia Blankenship of August, W.Va., and Lula Roland of Aberdeen, Md.; two sisters, Marie Byrd of Cedar Bluff, and Ellen Byrd of Bandy, Va.; two stepsons, Herman Calhoun of Richmond, and Ronald Calhoun; a stepdaughter, Ruby Gast of Richmond; 24 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; three step-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

CHILHOWIE -- Irene Cole, 95, died Friday, April 2, 1999, in the Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie.
She was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.
Survivors include four cousins, Anna Greer and Frankie Milsap, both of Abingdon, and Leon Cole and Betty Cole, both of Chilhowie.

Brown N. Daugherty
LOUISVILLE, Ky. --
Brown Noel Daugherty, 88, formerly of Princeton, W.Va., died Tuesday, March 30,. 1999, in the Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville.
She was a retired teacher with the Princeton, W.Va., school system and was the widow of Adrian Kenneth Daugherty.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth N. Daugherty of Louisville, and George F. Daugherty of Marion; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Friday in Louisville.

ABINGDON -- Matthew Lindsey Glass, 9, died Wednesday, March 31, 1999.
He attended Freewill Baptist Church, and was a student at Watauga Elementary.
Survivors include his father, Mark Manuel of Abingdon; his mother, Sadie Glass of Abingdon; his stepmother, Beverly Manuel of Abingdon; two brothers, Dustin Garland and Jason Garland, both of Abingdon; three stepbrothers, Mack Keith, Bryan Keith and Ryan Keith, all of Abingdon; a half-brother, Jason Manuel of Abingdon; his maternal grandfather, Donald Snead of Abingdon; his maternal grandmother, Lois Snead of Abingdon; his paternal grandmother, Mary Manuel of Alvarado, Va.; and his step-grandmother, Maude Garland.

INDEPENDENCE, Va. -- Ruth Hill Gullion, 87, a resident of Francis Marion Manor Nursing Home in Marion, died Thursday, April 1, 1999, in Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion.
She was the widow of Paul Hill and Ott Gullion.
Survivors include a daughter, Frankie Phipps of Independence; a son, Kenneth Hill of Coeburn; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was a native of Sullivan County and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He retired from Marion County Nursing Home in Indianapolis, and was a member of Mt. Carmel Free Will Baptist Church in Beech Creek.
Survivors include his wife, Ona Harris Hickman; two sons, Johnny Hickman and Richard Hickman, both of North Carolina; two sisters, Georgia Shelton and Mrs. R.C. Kitzmiller, both of Kingsport; a stepdaughter, Debbie Harris of Indianapolis; two stepsons, Tommy Moore and Gary Patrick, both of Jonesborough; and six grandchildren.
