MAXIE, Va. -- Madge Wolford Green, 66, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, in Buchanan General Hospital.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Buchanan County, a member of the Harman Freewill Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was the widow of Ernest Amos Green.
Survivors include two sons, James Green, Haysi, and Rex Green, Grundy; a sister, Geneva Brewster, Chicago; two brothers, Thurman Wolford, Millard, Ky., and Ermal Wolford, Big Rock, Va.; and three grandsons.

Kenneth C. Hicks
Kenneth C. Hicks, 87, of Bristol Tennessee, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, in Wellmont Hospice House.
He was a retired employee of the Bristol Tennessee Post Office and the Bristol Herald Courier. He was a member of the South Bristol United Methodist Church and a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include two daughters, Cecile Peters and Phoebie Hicks, both of Bristol Tennessee; a brother, James Hicks, Bristol Tennessee; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson.

Harry Johnson
TAZEWELL COUNTY, Va. -- Harry "Pete" Johnson, 78, of the Paint Lick section, formerly of Doran, Va., died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, in Clinch Valley Medical Center, Richlands.
He was a native of West Virginia, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and owned and operated the Vanderbuilt Tire Shop, Raven, for several years.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Janice Marie Reedy Johnson; four sons, Barry Gene Johnson, Abingdon, Terry Lee Johnson, Manassas, Brian Keith
Johnson of the home, and Sammy Johnson, Florida; two daughters, Mrs. Lora Lou Kahn, Florida, and Mrs. Linda Turpin, Missouri; a brother, Maxwell Johnson, West Virginia; a sister, Mrs. Anna Ruth Frame, Richwood, W.Va.; and three grandchildren.

Fred Laughlin
Fred Laughlin, 73, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Scott County, had lived 31 years in Flint, Mich., then moved to Bristol Tennessee.
He retired as an assemblyman for General Motors Corporation after 31 years of service, and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre.
Mr. Laughlin was a member of the United Auto Workers of America Local No. 8356, Flint, Mich., and of The Gardner's Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include six daughters, Vickie Laughlin, Ft. Myers, Fla., Janet House, Jackie Weyandt, Lisa Evans, Teresa Reardon and Freddie Laughlin, all of Flint, Mich.; his stepmother, Mrs. Beulah Laughlin, Blountville; five sisters, Hazel Kidd, Nelsie Kidd and Louise Gibson, all of Kingsport, Lillian Sammons and Etta McMurray, both of Blountville; four brothers, Jessie, Bristol Tennessee, Albert, Wesley and Dale Laughlin, all of Blountville; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Irretta Mullins
CLINTWOOD -- Irretta Mullins, 78, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, at her home.
She was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County and a member of the Cumberland Church of the Brethren for 46 years.
Survivors include her husband, the Rev. L. Myers Mullins; a son, Jackie Myers Mullins, Clintwood; a sister, Anne Lee Sutherland, Winchester, Va.; three brothers, Lawrence
Smith and Chester Smith, both of Clintwood, and Jay Smith, Norton; two granddaughters; two step-grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a step-great-grandchild.

Loyd Charles Saltz, 62, of Bristol Tennessee, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, at his home.
He was a native of Washington County, Va., and had lived in Bristol for the past few years, and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Jessie Saltz; a daughter, Judy S. Morall, Mount Airy, N.C.; a son, Dean Saltz, Capitola, Calif.; his mother, Mrs. Nellie Saltz, Abingdon; a brother, Edward Saltz, Bristol Tennessee; and a sister, Barbara S. Wyatt, Abingdon.

Mary V. Wohlford
ABINGDON -- Mary Virginia Wohlford, 67, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of West Virginia and had lived most of her life in Washington County.
She was a member of Meadowview United Methodist Church and retired from Central Fidelity Bank, in 1989.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald Wohlford; two sons, Gerry Wohlford, Meadowview, and Rick Wohlford, Bristol Tennessee; two daughters, Brenda Houck, Todd, N.C., and Pamela May, Meadowview; her mother, Mrs. Mabel K. Groseclose, Abingdon; her stepmother, Mrs. Lucille Snodgrass, Abingdon; two brothers, Jimmy Snodgrass, Arlington, Texas, John Snodgrass, Bluff City; two sisters, Lois Mattison, Linden, Mich., and Frances Craig, Cuyahoga, Ohio; two half-sisters, Bonnie Atwell, Bristol Virginia, and Linda Black, Cincinnati; ten grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

LENOIR, N.C. -- Katherine Ardena "Denie" Blevins died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, at her home.
Survivors include two sons, Keith Blevins and Lynn Blevins, both of Lenoir; two daughters, Norma Sutherland, Hickory, N.C., and Phyllis Waddell, Greenville, W.Va.; four sisters, Myrtle Null and Lissie Phillips, both of Bristol Tennessee, Rheadell Weston, Bristol Virginia, and Fannie Rhinehart, York, Pa.; several grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

NORTON -- Rebecca Matthews Brickey, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, in Lonesome Pine Hospital.
She was a former resident of the Dorchester community before moving to
Powell Valley in 1955. She was the widow of Emory Brickey and a member of the Freedom of Worship Church.
Survivors include two sons, Coy Brickey, DeLeon Springs, Fla., and Lindsey Brickey, Honaker; two brothers, Oscar Matthews, Kingsport, and Jim Matthews, Big Stone Gap; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Eva Lynn Rader Clark, 86, of The Cambridge House, Bristol Tennessee, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998.
She was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County and was associated for many years with Rader Store in the Weaver Community.
She was a member of Holston Baptist Church and the widow of James R. Clark.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

BURNSVILLE, Minn. -- Eva Mae Erwin, 93, died Monday, Nov. 23, 1998, in Ebenezer Ridges Health Care Center, in Burnsville.
She was from Tacoma, Va., and had lived in Burnsville for the past several years.
She was the widow of Stephen Randolph Erwin, a retired school teacher, postmaster and a member of Tacoma United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Rita) Carlson, Burnsville; a sister, Julia Dotson,
Johnson City; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
