BLUFF CITY -- Erma Mae Hinkle, 69, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Bluff City, a housewife and the widow of Albert Hinkle.
Survivors include two sons, James Hinkle and Ricky Hinkle, both of Bluff City; a sister, Goldie Fields, Bristol Tennessee; three brothers, Paul Pickle, Charles Pickle and Claude Pickle, all of Bluff City; and two grandsons.

Cornelia S. Jessee
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Cornelia Stone Carmack Jessee, 88, of 3208 Old Bainbridge Road, formerly of Elizabethton, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, in The Arbors Nursing Center, Tallahassee.
She was a native of Bristol Virginia and a graduate of Virginia Intermont College. She was a former employee of North American Bemberg Corporation and was formerly employed with the Executive Office of North American Rayon Corporation.
Mrs. Jessee was one of the founding members of Memorial Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton, and an active member until moving to Tallahassee in 1991.
She and her husband were instrumental in forming the Association for Retarded Citizens of Elizabethton. She was the widow of Vince Jessee.
Survivors include two daughters, Julia Jessee-Spitz and Louise Gilmer Jessee, both of Tallahassee; four grandchildren, Carolina Brumit Bradford, Red Cliff, Colo., Beverlee Brumit Macey and Janis Brumit Hoge, both of Duluth, Ga., and Walter Jessee Brumit, Greeneville, Tenn.; and three great-grandchildren.

Hazel G. Kelley, of Bristol Virginia, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, in
Johnson City Medical Center.
Survivors include a daughter, Ann B. Kelley, Bristol Virginia; a son, John S. Kelley, Bristol Virginia; and a grandson.
Private burial services have been held.

Gilmer Murray Sr.
ABINGDON -- Gilmer Murray Sr., 98, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, in Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon.
He was a lifelong resident of Washington County, Va., and retired from Dutt & Wagner, after 36 years of service. He retired from gardening at the age of 97.
He was preceded in death by is wife, Oda Stewart Murray.
Survivors include four sons, Lester Murray, Bristol Tennessee, Gilmer Murray Jr., Ernest Murray and Walter C. Murray, all of Abingdon; a daughter, Nellie Scyphers, Bristol Virginia; 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

Ida R. Davis Richardson, 86, of Fort Shelby Apartments, Bristol Tennessee, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Roda, Va., had lived most of her life in the Hickory Tree community and was a retired employee of Big Jack Manufacturing Company.
She was a member of the Hickory Tree Union Church and the widow of Eston "Red" Richardson.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ed (Nancy) Gorley, Bristol Tennessee, and Mrs. Jack (Betty) Lockner, Hickory Tree; a stepson, Foy Garland, Elizabethton, Tenn.; three sisters, Anna Belle Kilgore, Oxford, Mich., Mary Manning and Sarah Leist, both of Bristol Tennessee; two brothers, Tom Davis, White Lake, Mich., and Jim Davis, Frostproof, Fla.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

He was a native of Buchanan County, a member and assistant pastor of Layman's Chapel Church, in Richlands, and an employee of GTE for 25 years. He was a member of the CWA Union.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Lynn Horn Davidson; a daughter, Mrs. Nick (Angela Dawn) Deskins, Shortt Gap; a son, Tracy Charles Davidson of the home; his mother, Mrs. Peggy Claybourne Davidson, Bluefield, W.Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Kenny (Pamela) Winchester, Elizabethton, Tenn., and Mrs. Phillip (Rebecca) Peterson, Bluefield, W.Va.; a granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

ARLINGTON, Va. -- Covey Evans, 84, died Monday, Nov. 16, 1998.
He was a native of Coeburn, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a retired employee with the federal government working for NSA. He was a member of Westover Baptist Church, Arlington.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel H. Evans; a son, Kenneth L. Evans, Arlington; two sisters, Verna Clements and Faye Wilmouth, both of Lynchburg; four brothers, Gordon Evans, St. Paul, Anson Evans, Coeburn, Julius Evans and Randy Evans, both of Alexandria; three grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Hatcher, 87, of the Vance Tank Community, Bristol Tennessee, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She had lived all her life in the Bristol area, was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
