NORTON -- Ora Gilreath Roberts, 88, died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, in Norton Community Hospital.
She was a lifelong resident of the Norton area and the last charter member of Davis Chapel Church, in Norton.
She was the widow of Bill "Spider" Roberts.
Survivors include two sons, Johnny Roberts, Norton, and Donnie Roberts, Rickeyville, Va.; six daughters, Marie Province, Lexington, Ky., Virginia "Jobill" Thacker and Theresa Williams, both of Norton, Katie Sanders, Coeburn, Anna Franklin, Gate City, and Betty Farmer, Bostwick, Fla.; a sister, Juanita Hamilton, Norton; a brother, Stanley Gilreath, Wise; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Beulah B. Rowland
APPALACHIA -- Beulah Bernice Rowland, 83, died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, in Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, Va.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Appalachia and the widow of Lee Rowland.
Mrs. Rowland was a Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star of Appalachia, Chapter 26, and Past Noble Grand of the Rebekah Lettie Lodge No. 73.
Survivors include two sons, Dewey Rowland and Darrell Rowland, both of Appalachia; two daughters, Ada Lee Cooper, Charlotte Court House, Va., and Patricia Rowland, West Palm, Fla.; two sisters, Lenora Wilson, Pennington Gap, and Emily Tankersley, Imboden, Va.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

GLADE SPRING -- Lee F. Stanley, 80, died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, in Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon.
He was a lifelong resident of Washington County, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a carpenter. Mr. Stanley was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three sisters, Winnie Williams, Kernersville, N.C., Viola Hicks, Boone, N.C., and Gladys Williams, Charlotte, N.C.; three brothers, Earl Stanley, Charlotte, N.C., Marvin Stanley, Damascus, and Carl Stanley, Glade Spring; and several nieces and nephews.

KINGSPORT -- William H. "Bill" Wilson, 65, died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999,. at his home.
He was a native of Scott County, had lived in Sullivan County most of his life and was an employee of Sullivan County Highway Department, retiring in 1992.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ann Epperson.
Survivors include his wife, Ollie Crumley Wilson, Jonesborough; a stepdaughter, Jackie Leach, Jonesborough; two stepsons, Danny Garrett and Wayne Garrett, both of Jonesborough; two sisters, Dottie Cronin, Houston, and Betty Wilson, Kingsport; three step-grandchildren; a step-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

WISE -- Elizabeth Ann Addington Worcester, 36, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999, at her home.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Big Stone Gap.
Survivors include her husband, Jeffrey Dwight Worcester I; a son, Jeffery Dwight Worcester II, Wise; two daughters, Jazzmyn Delilah Worcester, Wise, and Elizabeth Tara Bac, Omaha, Neb.; her mother, Dorothy E. Haynes, Thomasville, Ga.; and a sister, Donna Gerald Tapponnier, Thomasville, Ga.

CEDAR BLUFF -- William Park Armes, 63, of the Belfast Community of Route 2, died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, at his home.
He was a native of Buchanan County and had lived in the Belfast Community for the past 12 years.
He was a member of Honaker Church of Christ and was a disabled coal miner.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Wanda Lockhart Armes; three sons, Jimmy Wayne Armes, Abingdon, William Robert Armes, Lenoir, N.C., and Derek Stephen Armes, of the home; his mother, Mrs. Gertie Childress Armes, Leemaster, Va.; a sister, Kelsey Jean Earp, Boomer, N.C.; two brothers, Tivis Armes, Leemaster, and Josh Armes, Grundy; and three grandsons.

CHESTER, Va. -- Lucia Lee Clark, 78, died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, in Bon Secours Retirement Community.
She had lived most of her life in Osaka, Va., and for the last six years in the Richmond area.
She had lived in the Imperial Plaza Retirement Community and the Bon Secours Retirement Community.
She was the widow of Jeff Clark.
Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Fones, Midlothian, Va.; a son, Jim Clark, Kingsport; a brother, Charlie Fleenor, Bedford, Va.; a sister, Billie Jo Marcum, Harrison, Ohio; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Nell Watkins Ellis, of Bristol Virginia, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Grundy and had lived in Bristol for the past 20 years.
She was a homemaker and the widow of Homer B. Ellis.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Grundy.
Survivors include a son, H.B. Ellis Jr., Bristol Virginia; a granddaughter, Rebecca Lynn Ellis, Merced, Calif., a daughter-in-law; a nephew and two nieces.

BLUFF CITY -- Becky Edell Glover, 78, of 1880 Ryder Church Road, died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of the Mount Holston Community, and was of the Baptist faith.
She was the widow of Henry Glover.
Survivors include three daughters, Louise Hilliard, Anna Lee Wright and Wanda Fritz, all of Bluff City; three sons, Charles Glover, Dossie Glover and Herbert Glover, all of Bluff City; four brothers, Worley Lingerfelt and Lester Lingerfelt, both of Bluff City, Bobby Lingerfelt, Bristol and J.D. Lingerfelt, Mountain City; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
