CHILHOWIE -- Mrs. Sallie Marie "Tittle" Gibson, 66, died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of Washington County and a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James Gibson, Chilhowie; a son, Ricky Dowell, Baltimore; two daughters, Evva Mazan and Peggy Caldwell, both of Baltimore; three brothers, Richard E. Love, Baltimore, Vernon L. Love, Alabama, and Jack L. Love, Stanley, N.C.; four sisters, Jessie Miller and Ann Kestner, both of Abingdon, and Peggy McCracken and Margaret Hilliard, both of Bristol Virginia; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Shirley W. Hooker
Shirley Wilson Hooker, 80, of Bristol Tennessee, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Wilcoe, W.Va., and had lived and worked in 36 states before moving to Bristol in 1971.
He was a retired construction worker and coal miner.
He was a member of Holston Valley Church of God, Zollicoffer Masonic Lodge No. 444 Scottish Rite and Jericho Shrine Temple.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita M. Grubb Hooker; ten daughters, Janet Withers, Arizona, Jeanie Smith, Tulare, Calif., Edna Denton, Jane Arnold, Lena Murphy and Robin Blair, all of Bristol Virginia, Ruby Wyatt and Jan Johnson, both of Bristol Tennessee, Linda Lanpher, Palmyra, Maine, and Barbara Coxe, Clayton, Del.; four sons, Richard Lee Hooker, Windsor, Colo., Raymond Hooker, Goldsboro, N.C., Johnny Hooker, Diablo, Calif., Richard Lewis Hooker, Bristol Tennessee; 41 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.

PAYNESVILLE, W.Va. -- Carl Kennith Horn Sr., 71, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, in Buchanan General Hospital.
He was a native of West Virginia and a 1946 graduate of Yeager High School.
He served in the U.S. Navy with the Seabees in Okinawa from 1946 to 1949.
He was the owner//operator of Carl Horn Construction.
Survivors include his wife, Jewel Davidson Horn; a daughter, Deborah Horn, Grundy; a son, Carl Kennith Horn Jr., Grundy; a sister, Edith Faye Beck, Bluefield, Va.; three brothers, Clarence Horn, St. Louis, Mo., Vaughan Horn, Kingsport, and Roy Horn, Wilmore, W.Va.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchidlren.

KINGSPORT -- Ora Micales Leonard, 95, Indian Springs Community, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, at her home.
She was a native of Blackwater, Va.
She was the widow of her first husband, Henry M. Micales; and her second husband, Gillard Leonard.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Hubert (Ruby) Goins, Church Hill, Mrs. Monnie Baker, Mrs. Beulah Shipley and Mrs. Paul (Mildred) Johnson, all of Kingsport, and Mrs. Leonard (Buna) Sturgill, Dayton, Ohio; a son, Herb Micales, Bridgewater, N.J.; 13 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Johnson CITY -- Frederick LeRoy Lick, 45, of 104 Watson Road, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, in
Johnson City Medical Center Hospital.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County.
He was an employee of the City of Bristol Tennessee and was a 1971 graduate of Science Hill High School.
He was a member of Taylor Memorial Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Wesley Frederick Lick, Elizabethton; his parents, James Frederick "Bud" Lick and Dorothy Elrod Lick, both of
Johnson City; a brother, Randy Lick,

He was a Washington County native and had lived most of his life in
Johnson City.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietname War.
He was a retired employee of Tennessee Eastman Corporation and was of the Baptist faith.

Johnson City; two sisters, Carolyn Blankenship,
Johnson City and Barbara Knisley, Bristol; a brother, Mike McMackin,
Johnson City; and several nieces.

BLOUNTVILLE -- Calvin William Pritchard, 80, died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, in Erlanger Hospital, Chattanooga.
He was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County and a retired steel worker for Enterprise.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient.
He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church where he served as a church leader in many areas.
Survivors include three nephews, Jack Pritchard, Jerry Pritchard and Larry Pritchard.

Callie M. Scyphers
ABINGDON -- Mrs. Callie Mae Scott Scyphers, 93, died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of Washington County and lifelong resident of the Brumley Gap Community.
She was a member of Brumley Gap United Methodist Church and was the widow of Denton Scyphers.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Eugene Thompson
BIG STONE GAP -- Eugene Thompson, 78, of the Beamontown Community died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at his home.
He was a native of Keokee, Va., and had lived most of his life in Roda and Big Stone Gap.
He was a retired coal miner with the Westmoreland Coal Company with over 43 years of service and a member of UMWA District No. 28.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a brother, Burl C. Thompson, Dunkirk, Md.; four nieces, Carolyn Wells, Joanne
Wells Drewry, Joyce Swiney and Delores Imblum; and two nephews, Burl Thompson Jr., and Richard Thompson.
