ABINGDON -- Parker Thomas Smith, infant son of Michael David and Lisa Carol Cross Smith, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his paternal grandparents, the Rev. Buford and Mary L. Smith, Grundy; his maternal grandparents, Bill and Glenna Cross, Bristol Virginia; his paternal great-grandparents, Sawyer and Laura B. Smith, Barbourville, Ky.; his maternal great-grandmother, Naomi O. O'Dell, Bristol Virginia; and several aunts and uncles.

Helen P. Cozzens
MANASSAS -- Helen Patricia Cozzens, 62, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, in Prince William Hospital, Manassas.
She was a Wal-Mart Associate in Wal-Mart Store No. 1825, Manassas. She and her husband were foster parents in Falls Church and Arlington since 1984.
Survivors include her husband, Lester Cozzens; a son, Roy Collins, Parkersburg, W.Va.; three daughters, Wilma Cockerham, Galax, Kathie Smith, Manassas, and Rebecca Dorsey, Alexandria; five brothers, John Stanley and Harold Stanley, both of Wise, Curtis Stanley, Front Royal, Va., James Stanley, Bland, and Roger Stanley, Catlett, Va.; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial will be held Friday in Manassas.

Kelsie G. Davis
KINGSPORT -- Kelsie Glyn Davis, 73, of 509 East Ave., died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at his home.
He was a native of Baltimore, had lived in Kingsport for a number of years, and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Mildred Elizabeth Hickman Davis.
Mr. Davis was a member of the Kingsport Nursing Board, Kingsport Zoning Board, Master-Universal Lodge No. 239 F&AM,
Smith Consistory Commander-in-Chief, Past Potentate and treasurer of Hanson Temple 150, Master-B.W. Hayes Council, Chairman of the Scholarship Fund for State of Tennessee Masons, and past commander of American Legion Post No. 123.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Cheyenne Allen, Baltimore, and Mrs. Jewell Crowell, Kingsport; a brother, Eugene Davis, Boston; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Windal B. Frye
SALTVILLE -- Mr. Windal Benton Frye, 79, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, at his home.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving 16 years.
Survivors include a brother, Eugene Frye, Abingdon; two sisters, Ruby Smith, Saltville, and Mona Hodges, Brookville, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Clarence Fultz
NORTON -- Clarence Fultz, 71, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, in Norton Community Hospital.
He was a native of Dorchester, Va., and a resident of the Needmore section of Norton.
Mr. Fultz was a coal miner with Clinchfield Coal Company, a member of the UMWA Local 1477, and a member of the Norton Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Rossi Fultz; a daughter, Elizabeth Branham, Fredericksburg, Va.; four brothers, Elmer James Fultz, Big Stone Gap, Willard Fultz, Wise, Freddie Fultz and Robert Fultz, both of Norton; two sisters, Della Hall, Norton, and Dorothy Smith, Ohio; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Robert H. Goss
BLAND -- Mr. Robert H. "Bobby" Goss, 41, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at his home.
He was a native of Richlands and was a cemetery maintenance supervisor for Stewart Enterprises.
Survivors include three daughters, Jamie Renee Goss, Amie Sue Goss and Rebecca Leighann Goss, all of Bland; three sons, Jesse Lee Goss, John Robert Goss and Casey Alico Goss, all of Bland; his parents, Robert A. and Corriene Baldwin Goss, Bland; a sister, Mrs. Michael (Sylvia Diane) Harrison, Cedar Bluff; a niece; a nephew; and a great-nephew.

Dexter G. Jackson
GRAY -- Dexter Grant Jackson of 680 Oak Grove Road, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999, in
Johnson City Medical Center.
He was a native of Honaker and had lived in the Gray area for the past 20 years.
He was a U. S. Army veteran serving with Special Forces in Korea, a long-distance truck driver with STS Trucking Company and was of the Baptist faith.
He was a member of the
Johnson City Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia Arwood Jackson; a son, Brian Jackson, Jacksonville, Fla.; three daughters, Robin Robinette, Bristol Tennessee, Joyce Jackson, Barberton, Ohio, and Debbie Chaney, Akron, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Jane Counts,
Johnson City; two stepsons, Robert Arwood and David Arwood, both of
Johnson City; a brother, Gerald Jackson, Lebanon; two sisters, Juanita Carrier and Carolyn Bledsoe, both of Blountville; 15 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Ray Kestner
Johnson CITY -- Luther Ray Kestner, 66, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999, in Northside Hospital.
He was a native of Clinchburg, Va., was the owner and operator of Ray's Brakes, Etc.,
Johnson City, and retired from Porter Paint Company, after 23 years of service.
He was a member of the Central Baptist Church,
Johnson City, and a member of the William Rigell's Men's Class.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Kestner; three sisters, Frances McGuire, Abingdon, Nellie Williams,
Johnson City, and Ruth Webb, Bluff City; a brother, Ed Kestner, Bristol Tennessee; four nieces; and four nephews.

James W. McCray
James Wallace McCray, 74, of Bristol Tennessee, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific.
Prior to his retirement, he was owner of McCray Dental Laboratory. He was a member and deacon of Fellowship Chapel for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Beulah Basham McCray; a daughter, Mrs. Phillip (Teresa) McCray Harmon, Waynesboro, Va.; a brother, Robert McCray, Dandridge, Tenn.; and three grandsons.
A private memorial service was held in Glenwood Cemetery.

Illa O. Meade
ST. PAUL -- Illa Orine Meade, 83, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was the widow of Ernest Meade.
Survivors include a daughter, Elvera Powers, Wise; six sons, D. Leon Meade, Weber City, Olan Meade and Bobby Joe Meade, both of Coeburn, Roger Meade and Willie Meade, both of St. Paul, and Douglas Meade, Aurora, Ill.; 26 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
