Raymond Castle Sr.
BLUEFIELD, Va. -- Raymond P. Castle Sr., 90, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998.
He was a native of Virginia, a retired mine foreman with U.S. Steele, in Gary, W.Va., and a member of the First Church of God, in Bluefield, Va.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Blevins Castle, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two sons, Raymond P. Castle Jr., Elbert, W. Va., and Robert Jerry Castle, Hickory, N.C.; three daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Georgia Joyce) Coffey, Bluefield, W.Va., Mrs. Gordon (Clara) Booher, Charlotte, N.C., and Mrs. Robert (Janet Lynn) Barnes, Bluefield, Va.; three sisters, Neta Johnson, Castlewood, Clara Barnett, Bristol Tennessee, and Nettie Rutherford, Bluff City; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Zelpha O. Clark
MEADOWVIEW -- Zelpha Octavia Clark, 85, died Friday, Dec. 18, 1998, in Cincinnati.
She had lived in Mendota and Meadowview most of her life before moving to Cincinnati in 1994. She was of the Pentecostal faith and a former employee of Johnston Memorial Hospital as a certified nurse assistant.
She was the widow of Earl W. Clark.
Survivors include a daughter, Leaona Kinnick, Rockmart, Ga.; two sons, William Gordon Clark, Cincinnati, and Ivan Rodger Clark, Abingdon; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth "Lib" Caudill, Mrs. Ila Humphreys and Mrs. Mae Parris, all of Meadowview; 15 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Edith M. Frye
NORTON -- Edith Mae Tomlinson Frye, 79, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, in Blount Memorial Hospital, Maryville, Tenn.
She was a lifelong resident of Virginia and had lived in Norton for the past 57 years. She was the widow of Richard C. Frye and was of the Pentecostal faith.
Mrs. Frye was a member of Pocahontas Rebekah Lodge, in Coeburn.
Survivors include a son, Richard "Tenner" Frye, Cary, N.C.; a daughter, Mrs. Joe (Brenda Kay) McCulley, Maryville; a sister, Mrs. Worley (Retta) Carter, Clinchport, Va.; four grandchildren, Tina, Julia and Genevieve Frye, and Joey McCulley; and several nieces and nephews.

MARION -- E. Richard Hearn, 54, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998, at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Hayden Hearn; two daughters, Mrs. Butch (Monica) Glass, Graham, N.C., and Amy Hearn Campbell, Marion; his mother, Ruby Testerman, Marion; and three grandchildren.

Jones Jr., 52, of 346 Seneker Lane, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Scott County, was employed with Davis Pipe and was an avid hunter.
Survivors include a son, Chris Jones, Blountville; three sisters, Emma Lou Stratton, Blountville, Betty Ann Staubus, Bristol Tennessee, and Susan Hensley, Bristol Virginia; four brothers, Donald E. Jones, Richard

SWORDS CREEK -- Bazzie Swanson Miller, 90, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, in a Lebanon hospital.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Swords Creek, a retired coal miner and a member of the Swords Creek Block Church for over 60 years.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Ellen Miller; four daughters, Darlene Meadows and Shirley Honaker, both of Honaker, Brenda Miller, Rosedale, and Bonnie Plaster, Swords Creek; three sons, Guy Miller, James Miller and Dwight Miller, all of Swords Creek; two sisters, Gladys Ray, Swords Creek, and Lizzie Dye, Garden Creek; two brothers, Harley "Penny" Miller, Swords Creek, and Junior Miller, Honaker; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

WISE -- William E. "Buck" Miller, 82, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998, in Norton Community Hospital, Norton.
He was of the Pentecostal faith and a retired coal miner.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Roberts Miller; two sons, Mark Miller and Jimmy Miller, both of Wise; two daughters, Janice Roberts and Arlene Hamilton, both of Wise; four sisters, Phyllis Hammonds, Sandy Moore and Elsie Miller, all of Norton, and Rose Taulby, Big Stone Gap; four brothers, James Miller, Coeburn, Connie Miller, Bristol Tennessee, Crat Miller, Sarasota, Fla., and Gerald W. Miller, Pound; two half-brothers, Danny Miller, Wise, and Bucky Miller,

Finley P. Nuckles
ABINGDON -- Finley P. "Fin" Nuckles, 77, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998, at his home.
He was a native of Buchanan County, had resided in Abingdon for years, and was employed in the coalfields for 28 years. He retired from the federal government in Chesapeake, Va.
He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his first wife, Merle Keen Nuckles.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Rowland Nuckles; a stepson, Gene Rowland, Coeburn; a daughter, Carolyn Carty, Suffolk, Va.; a stepdaughter, Terri Scott, Big Stone Gap; a sister, Marie Street, Abingdon; seven grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

MOUNTAIN CITY -- Clyde Tester, 87, of 250 Joe Tester Lane, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, in Watauga Medical Center, Boone, N.C.
He was a native of
Johnson County, a retired employee of Maymead Lime Company and was preceded in death by his wife, Opal G. Tester. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Zellarhea) Hammons, Bluff City; a son, Dwight Tester, Mountain City; a sister, Gail Tester, Mountain City; two grandsons, Jeffrey Tester and Christopher Sheets; two great-grandsons; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
