SALTVILLE -- Sylvia F. Wise Thomas, 72, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 1998, at her home.
Survivors include her husband, Carl G. "Simon" Thomas; a son, Ricky C. Thomas, Glade Spring; three brothers, Gene Wise, Bluefield, Va., Charles Wise, Gray, Tenn., and Noble L. Wise, Chesapeake, Va.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Clarence L. Cress
COLLINS, Ohio -- Clarence L. Cress, 65, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 1998, at his home.
He was a native of Dungannon, had lived in Collins since 1990, and was a machinist with Sandusky International, retiring in 1972.
He attended the Believers Spoken Word Tabernacle, in Sheffield, Ohio. He was a member of the Eric and Huron County Houndsmen Club and the State Coon Hunters Association.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Nolan Cress; five daughters, Brenda Bartlett and Peggy Chappelear, both of Norwalk, Ohio, Diania Fulton, Collins, Crystal Cress, Milan, Ohio, and Melissa Collins, Castlewood; four sons, Larry Cress, Collins, James Cress, Fort Worth, Texas, Clarence Cress, Norwalk, and Lindsey Cress, Weber City, Ohio; his mother, Mona Keith Cress, Dungannon; six sisters, Faye West, Dorothy Hughes, Linda Elkins and Billie June Comer, all of Dungannon, Lois Dingus, Nickelsville, and Mary Ruth Childers, Michigan; three brothers, Steve Cress, Fort Worth, David Cress, Norwalk, and Alden Cress Jr., Dungannon; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Troy Cross
BLUFF CITY -- Troy Cross, 89, of 1343 Silver Grove Road, died Friday, Dec. 11, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County and a retired farmer. He was a member of Buffalo Christian Church, where he served as a deacon and a Sunday School teacher.
Survivors include his wife, Virgie V. Cross; two sons, Lynn Cross and Moody Cross, both of Bluff City; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Virginia W. Fann
LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Virginia Whitaker Fann, 87, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 1998, in Homestead Nursing Center, Lexington.
She was a native of Bristol Virginia and had resided in Lexington for the past 40 years.
She was President of Shieldall Company, Inc., a member of Zonta International, the American Legion Auxiliary and La Societe De Femme Cobane 29.
She was also a commissioned Kentucky Colonel.
Mrs. Fann was a member of Oak Grove Church and the widow of Harold W. Fann.
Survivors include a daughter, Mildred Markham Swift, Bristol Tennessee; a granddaughter, Suzanne Swift Senter, Bristol Tennessee; a sister, Melton Whitaker Harrington, Bluff City; and several nieces and nephews.

SALTVILLE -- Mary Louise "Gin" Fields, 79, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 1998, in Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon.
She was a native of Saltville, a member of Main Street Christian Church and a member of the Senior Citizens.
Survivors include a daughter, Patsy Duato, Tampa, Fla.; a son, Jerry Fields, Altamonte Springs, Fla.; a sister, Helen Campbell, Chilhowie; four brothers, William Woodward, Abingdon, John Woodward, Halifax, Va., Thomas Woodward, Roanoke, and David Woodward, Marion; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pansy H. Fleenor
CLEVELAND, Va. -- Pansy Harman Fleenor, 90, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 1998.
She was a retired teacher in the Russell County Schools with over 40 years of service. She was a member of the Cleveland United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Santiago, Fulton, Miss., Judy Sanders, Abingdon, and JoAnn Wright, Cleveland; two sisters, Thelma Harman and Jess Queale, both of Bristol Virginia; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Ella M. Fuller
Ella Mae Goodman Fuller, of 139 Collingwood Drive, Bristol, Tenn., died Thursday, Dec. 10, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Bristol and a member of Belle Meadows Baptist Church. She was an office employee for many years for various Bristol businesses.
She was the widow of D.H. Fuller.
Survivors include two sisters, Mary L. Hulbert, Ellicott City, Md., and Margaret Sullivan, Charleston, S.C.; a brother, Paul Goodman, London, Ohio; six nieces; and a nephew.

WISE -- Mavis Uneeda Ledford, 52, died Friday, Dec. 11, 1998.
She was of the Pentecostal faith and was employed as a private duty nurses aide for several years.
Survivors include a son, Jamie Ledford, Twin Lakes Dowgie, Mich.; two daughters, Renee Denham, Norton, and Hope Kerns, Mt. Carmel, Tenn.; three brothers, Joe Ledford, Lawton, Mich., Johnny Ledford, Kansas City, Mo., and Ricky Ledford, Wise; three sisters, Terra Maggard, Debra Wireman and Lisa Ledford, all of Wise; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

ASTOR, Fla. -- Lyle L. Leonard Sr., 82, of 24050 Panther Road, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 1998.
He was a native of Kalamazoo, Mich., and moved to Astor from Bristol Tennessee, in 1988.
He was a member of Astor Baptist Church and was a field supervisor for United Cities Gas Company, Murfreesboro, Tenn.
Survivors include a son, Lyle Leonard Jr., Warner Robbins, Ga.; two daughters, Judy Leonard Banner, Mountain Home, N.C., and Lois Leonard Reynolds, Bristol Tennessee; three sisters, Bertha Christensen, Newaygo, Mich., Mae Curtis, Grant, Mich., and Mary Johnson, Grand Rapids, Mich.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

SUGAR GROVE -- Shawn Douglas Moore, infant son of Roger and April Moore, died Friday, Dec. 11, 1998.

Charles Queen
POUNDING MILL -- Charles Queen, formerly of Verdunville, W.Va., died Thursday, Dec. 10, 1998, in a Richlands hospital.
He was a native of Wayne County, W.Va., a retired coal miner employed with Island Creek Coal Company and a member of United Mine Workers of America.
He was a 32nd degree Mason and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was an instructor of mining electricity with the Board of Education, in Logan County, W.Va., and a member of the Community Heights Baptist Church, in Wardell, Va.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Binion Queen.
Survivors include a son, Curtis Queen, Pounding Mill; four sisters, Mrs. Wayburn (Lucy) Farley, Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Jim (Hancy) McNeil, Jonesborough, Tenn., Mrs. Cindy Porter, Shelby, Ohio, and Mrs. Lois Young, Galipolis, Ohio; three brothers, Bill Queen and Jim Queen, both of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Frank Queen, Mims, Fla.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
