NORTH TAZEWELL -- Cecil Aaron "Avery" Breedlove, 53, of Mundytown section, formerly of Shortt Gap, Va., died Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998, in a Tazewell hospital.
He was a native of Tazewell County and was of the Holiness faith.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Honaker Breedlove; two daughters, Mrs. James (Sherry) Roberts, Roanoke, and Mrs. Michael (Donna) Casey, Pounding Mill, Va.; his father, Cecil Breedlove, Claypool Hill; a brother, James L. Breedlove, Claypool Hill; two sisters, Mrs. Judy Whitt, Hardy, Va., and Mrs. Brenda Vanhuss, Roanoke; and five grandchildren.

Joan B. Cassell
BIG STONE GAP -- Joan Bilek Cassell, 56, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She had lived most of her life in Big Stone Gap, was a member of East Stone Gap Baptist Church and was employed in the cafeteria at
Powell Valley High School.
Survivors include three sons, Jeri N. Cassell Jr., Bristol Tennessee, Bob Kremnitzer, Michigan, and Bill Kremnitzer, Illinois; a daughter, Karen Mosier, Big Stone Gap; her mother, Sophie Bilek, Chicago; two brothers, John Bilek and Richard Bilek, both of Illinois; a sister, Margaret Baniewicz, Illinois; and eight grandchildren.

Earnel M. Davis
RICHALNDS -- Earnel Marvin Davis, 81, of 502 Barrett St., died Monday, Nov. 23, 1998, in a Richlands hospital.
He was a native of Richlands, a retired electrician for Jewell Ridge Coal Corporation, Jewell Valley, Va., and a member of the UMWA Local Union No. 7327, Jewell Valley.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, a member of Casey-Shortt VFW Post No. 9640, Richlands, and attended Gethsemane Baptist Church.
Mr. Davis was a 33rd degree Mason of the State of Virginia, Past Master of Richlands Lodge No. 318 AF&AM, a member of the Cedar Bluff Lodge No. 260 AF&AM, the O'Keeffe Royal Arch Masons No. 26, Clinch Valley Commandery No. 20 Knights Templar, the Kazim Temple and Scottish Rite Bodies of Roanoke, and was past President of the Tazewell Russell Shrine Club.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Laura Ann Nuckles Davis; three daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Nancy) Brown, Mrs. Kenneth (Patsy) Coleman, and Mrs. Jimmy (Barbara Jane) Monk, all of Richlands; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Jewell, Richlands, and Mrs. Elizabeth Davis, Park Forrest, Ill.; two brothers, Carl A. Davis, Richlands, and Robert A. Davis, Claypool Hill; and seven grandchildren.

CASTLEWOOD -- Anna Mae Hale, 79, died Monday, Nov. 23, 1998, in Russell County Medical Center, Lebanon.
She was a native of Russell County and the widow of Ira Ray Hale.
Survivors include two sons, Verlin Hale and Clyde Hale, both of Castlewood; a sister, Maudie Gilbert, Baltimore; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Albert D. Hayes
BLUFF CITY -- Albert D. Hayes, 90, of 395 Flatwoods Road, died Monday, Nov. 23, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County and a charter member of Hickory Tree Fire Department.
He retired as Assistant Road Commissioner for Sullivan County Highway Department and was a member of Ryder Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Cora White Hayes; a daughter, Mrs. Rudy (Claudine) Brown, Bluff City; two sons, Wayman Hayes and Cecil Hayes, both of Bluff City; two grandchildren; a step-grandson; two great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Ruth Hilton
LEXINGTON, N.C. -- Ruth Hinkle Hilton, 86, died Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998, in Huntersville Oaks Nursing Home, Huntersville, N.C.
She was a native of Davidson County, was employed with WBUY//WLXN Radio Station in administration and bookkeeping. She was the widow of Omar G. Hilton.
Survivors include two sons, Kerry G. Hilton, Charlotte, N.C., and Kenneth R. Hilton, Greenville, N.C.: two daughters, Bonita Sue Metzger, Bristol Virginia, and Patricia K. Hilton, Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Mrs. Betty Charles, High Point, N.C.; and five grandchildren.
Funeral service and burial will be held Tuesday in Lexington.

APPALACHIA -- Charlotte Elizabeth Adams King, 86, died Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998, at her home.
She was the widow of E. Glenwood King, a member of First Presbyterian Church of Appalachia and a former Sunday school teacher.
She was a member of the Appalachia Women's Club.
Survivors include a sister, Louise A. Minor, Appalachia; two nieces, Jennie Adams, Appalachia, and Jerrie Adams, Big Stone Gap; a nephew, Larry Midkiff, Columbia, S.C.; two great-nieces; and several cousins.

WISE -- Mary Yates Laney, 83, died Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998, in Norton Community Hospital, Norton.
She was a member of Mt. View Freewill Baptist Church, a former employee of Short's Supermarket and a cashier with Johnson's Five and Dime Store.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence Buford Laney; four sisters, Myrtle Laney and Lura Osborne, both of Wise, Tora Powers, Jonesville, and Betty Bareford, Richmond; four brothers, Glen Yates and Richard Yates, both of Jonesville, James Yates, Wise, and Bill Yates, Florida; two granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.

MARION -- Buena Garrett Legard, 94, died Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998, in Smyth County Community Hospital.
She was the widow of William T. "Bill" Legard and a registered nurse with 42 years of service at various local hospitals.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Carolyn Legard, Marion; and several nieces and nephews.
