Robert George Cowan Jr., 82, of 1729 Windsor Ave., Bristol, Tenn., died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1998, at his home.
He was a native of Sullivan County and a member of Windsor Avenue Presbyterian Church.
He was a retired employee of Holston Hardware.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Lowry Cowan.
Survivors include a son, Richard Cowan, Crownsville, Md.

OAKWOOD, Va. -- Dora Everidge Gibson, 82, of the Dismal Section of Buchanan County, died Monday, Nov. 16, 1998, in Wellmont Hospice House, Bristol, Tenn.
She was a native of Happy, Ky., and was a member of the Church of Christ for 50 years.
Survivors include her husband, Sigel Gibson; three daughters, Mrs. Vernon (Pearl) Fuller, Oakwood, Mrs. Franklin (Lula) Cole and Ms. Barbara Gibson, Sevierville, Tenn.; six sons, James C. Gibson, Sevierville, Bert Junior Gibson, Great Falls, Mont., Delmer Gene Gibson, Oakwood, Raymond Gibson, Woodbridge, Va., Stuart Gibson, Durand, Mich., and Ronnie Gibson, Honaker; three sisters, Carrie Moore, Edith Breeding and Delana Spencer, Red Fox, Ky.; a brother, Boone Everidge, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

ROSEDALE, Va. -- Mollie Grace Hale, infant daughter of Marvin D. Hale Jr. and Veronica Cristie Stiltner Hale, formerly of Garden Creek, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 1998 in a
Johnson City Hospital.
She was a member of Wilderness Tabernacle Church, Horn Mountain, Va.
Other survivors include her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Ollie Blankenship Keen, Richlands; paternal grandparents, Mrs. Norma Waltrip Hale, Rowe, and Marvin D. Hale Sr., Swords Creek; maternal great-grandparents, Mrs. Ezra L. Blankenship and Mrs. Callie M. Keen, both of Swords Creek.

BUCHANAN COUNTY -- Mrs. Maria H. Harman, 93, of Route 618, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1998, in a Grundy hospital.
She was a native of Russell County and the widow of Lance L. Harman.
Survivors include a step-son, Preston Harman, Raven, Va.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Nathel Elswick, Raven, and Mrs. Ruth Owens, Apopka, Fla.; a brother, Eddie Hubbard, Swords Creek, Va.; a sister, Mrs. Mollie Powell, Martinsville, Va.; several step-grandchildren; and step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Colonel F. Jackson
RICHLANDS -- Colonel F. "Jack" Jackson, 78, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1998, in a Richlands hospital.
He was a native of Buchanan County.
He was a retired miner with Consolidated Coal Corp. at Inman, W.Va., and was a member of United Mine Workers of American Local Union No. 9690.
He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Casey-Shortt VFW Post No. 9640 of Richlands.
He had lived in the Richlands area most of his life and was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Okie Hale Jackson; a daughter, Mrs. Glen (Susie) Hampton, Pounding Mill, Va.; a son, Larry W. Jackson, Richlands; two brothers, Jessie Jackson, Baptist Valley, and Dennis Jackson of Hay Market, Va.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Grady Roscoe Kiser, 83, of 1793 Windover Road, Bristol, Va., died Monday, Nov. 16, 1998, at his home.
He was a native of Buchanan County and was a retired merchant.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara E. Kiser.
Survivors include a brother, Alvah Mason Kiser Jr., Sacramento, Calif.; and two sisters, Faye K. McGhee, Wytheville, and Gay K.

ABINGDON -- Regina Lyons Logue, died Monday, Nov. 16, 1998, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of Pittsburgh, Pa., and had lived in Abingdon for over two years.
She was the widow of Edward J. Logue.
Survivors include two daughters, Marion Logue Dobbins, St. Lauderdale, Fla., and Regina Logue Sandridge, St. Paul; two sisters, Marion Prestia, Mechanicsburg, Pa., and Evelyn Avampato, Pittsburgh; a brother, John Lyons, Pittsburgh; a sister-in-law; and four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

BLOUNTVILLE -- Charles S. "Charlie" Lyons, 64, of 5040 Dublin Road, died Monday, Nov. 16, 1998 in Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
He worked as a master carpenter for 51 years.
He was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County and a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church, Kingsport Masonic Lodge No. 5688 F&AM, York and Scottish Rites Bodies and Jerico Shrine Temple.
Survivors include his wife, Naomi Taylor Lyons; a son, David Lyons, Kingsport; a granddaughter; two brothers, Jerry Lyons and Earl Lyons, both of Covington, Ga.; a sister, Patty Burg, Bluff City; two special cousins; two step-grandchildren; several nieces, and nephews.

WHITETOP, Va. -- Delmer B. Richardson, 76, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1998, in Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon.
He was a native of Whitetop and a member of Whitetop Baptist Church.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having fought in the D-Day invasion, the Battle of the Bulge and other battles throughout Europe.
He was a member of Mouth of Wilson, Va., Masonic Lodge No. 223 AF&AM. Survivors include his wife, Colleen Weaver Richardson; two sons, Sherrod Richardson and Steven Richardson, both of the home; a daughter, Tamara Blevins, Mountain City; two brothers, Wetsel Richardson, Whitetop, and Howard Richardson, Sugar Grove; five sisters, Pearl Weaver, Alexandria, Minerva Roop, Galax, Lura Chappelle, Manassas, Lucille Peterson, Elkton, Md., and Hazel Sellers, North East, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.
