POUND -- James W. Osborne, 17, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 1998, at his home.
He was a former student at Pound High School, where he was a member of the football team and an employee of Payless Super Market, Wise.
Survivors include his parents, Jessee Lee and Aleta Ann Osborne, Pound; three sisters, Jodie Ellison, Regenia Osborne and Carolyn Osborne, all of Pound; two brothers, Roger Lee Osborne, Norton, and Jessee Osborne, Pound; and his paternal grandmother, Geneva Miller, Coeburn.

Mildred N. Rowland
GREENVILLE, N.C. -- Mildred Newell Rowland, 84, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998.
She was a native of Russell County, lived her early life in Rosedale, Va., and continued her college studies in Radford. She moved to Greenville in 1948, and was the widow of her first husband, J.R. "Chick" Newell.
She was employed with Western Union for several years, and after her retirement, she was employed with Coffman's Mens Wear of Greenville. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Survivors include her husband, S. Lee Rowland; a son, J.R. "Dick" Newell Jr., Athens, Ga.; a stepson, Dr. Joseph P. Rowland, Jackson, Tenn.; two stepdaughters, Doris Wallace, Roanoke Rapids, N.C., and Helen R. Ingram, Garner, N.C.; three brothers, Robert W. Cox, Rosedale, E. Eugene Cox and F. Edward Cox, both of Richmond; three sisters, Virginia C. Gaby,
Johnson City, Ida C. Alderson, Lebanon, and Alta James "Jimmie" Lamberth, Kingsport; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.
Service and burial will be held Tuesday in Greenville, N.C.

Stanley J. Rzepecki
Stanley J. Rzepecki, 55, of Bristol Tennessee, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 1998, in Wellmont Hospice House.
He was a native of New York and was a television repairman.
Survivors include a daughter; two sisters; two brothers; and several nieces and nephews.
A private funeral service was held in New York.

Floy C. Stamper
ABINGDON -- Floy Castle Stamper, 90, died Monday, Nov. 16, 1998, in Cedar Lawn Convalescent Home, Abingdon.
She was a native of Hayters Gap, in Washington County, and spent most of her life in the Abingdon area.
She was a member of the Shady Grove United Methodist Church and the widow of Thomas J. Stamper.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Howard (Betty) Carbury, Abingdon; a son, Wayne E. Stamper, Clarksville, Tenn.; a sister, Geraldine C. Carbary, Abingdon; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; three nieces; and eight nephews.

Shirley A. Talley
ELKHART, Ind. -- Shirley A. Talley, 60, of 1334 McPherson Street, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998, in Elkhart General Hospital.
She was a native of Plasterco, Va., and the widow of Fred W. Talley.
She was employed with Polytron Corporation for over 13 years and attended Riverview General Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Vicki J. Talley, Elkhart; a son, Jeff D. Talley, Saltville; a brother, Thomas Bays, Elkhart; and her mother and stepfather, Mike and Marie Aistrop Schmatz, Elkhart.
Funeral services and burial will be held Wednesday in Elkhart.

HARROGATE, Tenn. -- Thelma Myrtle Vannoy, 86, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 1998, in Claiborne County Hospital.
She was a lifelong member of Greers Chapel Baptist Church and the widow of James Hubert Vannoy.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Vaughn (Anna Mae) Brewer, Piney Flats, and Mollie Ruby Vannoy, McMinnville, Tenn; a son, J.R. Vannoy, Harrogate; three sisters, Ruby Dortos, Temperance, Mich., Gladys Fleemon and Beulah Clarkson, both of Morristown; three brothers, Luther Brooks, Arthur, Tenn., Clayton Brooks, New Tazewell, Tenn., and Buford Brooks Harrogate; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and burial were held Saturday in Harrogate.

ST. PAUL -- Barbara Bartee, 71, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Bristol, England.
Survivors include her husband, John Bartee; two sons, Dodie J. Bartee, Bristol Tennessee, and Larry A. Bartee, Richmond; a brother, Jim Lane, Bristol, England; and three grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Ervin Belcher, Wise; a granddaughter, Jennifer C. Spenilla, Wise; and two great-grandsons.

Edwin G. Bowman
Edwin Garfield Bowman, 78, of 40-24th St., Bristol Tenn., died Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998, at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Gilbert Bowman; a daughter, Pamela Pinkerton; two sons, Dwight Evans Bowman and Stanley Keith Bowman; eight grandchildren; three sisters; and a brother.

Garland D. Brooks Sr.
MARION -- Garland Dean Brooks Sr., 61, died Monday, Nov. 16, 1998, in Smyth County Community Hospital.
He was a lifelong resident of Smyth County.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Brooks.
Survivors include his fiance, Doris Robbins; two sons, Garland Dean Brooks Jr., Troutdale, Va., and Charles David Scott, Sugar Grove; a brother, Julian Paul Brooks, Sugar Grove; a sister, Violet Brooks Hamm, Marion; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
