Elizabeth Berg
LEWISTOWN, Mont. -- Elizabeth Berg, 82, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 1998, in Valle Vista Manor.
She was a native of Spokane, Wash., moved to Havre, Mont., homesteading south of Fort Assinboine. She graduated from Havre High School and received a two-year teaching certificate form Northern Montana State College in 1937.
She was the widow of Ole G. Berg.
She was a teacher in Laredo, Mont., until 1938, when she traveled to Norway for five months and returned to Havre until 1948, when she moved to Hilger. She returned to Northern Montana College and received her bachelor's degree in elementary education in 1966.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Ruth Circle, Sons of Norway, WIFE, Senior Citizens Tax Assistance, Winifred Garden Club and Jayson's Twirlers.
Survivors include six children, Ella Arthur, Manhattan, Mont., Mrs. Jim (Alice)
Green and Jon Berg, both of Hilger, Dale Berg, Albuquerque, N.M., Mrs. Edward (Edith) Hiltebeitel, Abingdon, Mrs. Larry (Donna) Moir, Chehalis, Wash.; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial services and interment will be held Wednesday in Lewistown.

Brown Sr.
BRIDGETON, N.J. -- James Patrick
Brown Sr., 76, formerly of Eckman, West Virginia, died Friday, Nov. 6, 1998, in S.J. Hospital, Bridgeton.
He was a native of Castlewood and grew up in Virginia. He was in the U.S. Army from 1942 until 1945, serving in Normandy and Eastern Europe. He received a Good Conduct Medal, Victory Ribbon, American Theater Service Ribbon and the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Ribbon.
Prior to moving to Bridgeton in 1953, he was a coal miner in West Virginia, and at one time owned a coal mine. After moving to New Jersey, he was employed as a plumber with the former Harry R. Dare Plumbing Company, of Bridgeton. He was employed for 33 years as a plumber in the maintenance department of Owens Illinois Glass Company, in Bridgeton, before retiring in 1985.
He was a member of the Local GBBA at Owens, was a fisherman and a baseball and football fan.
Survivors include his wife, Ada Viola Gravley Brown; six daughters, Barbara Heckathorn, Springdale, Ark., Drema Sue Barber, Camden, Del., Shirley Bown, Centre Grove, Lawrence Township, Janice
Brown and Teresa Brown, both of Bridgeton, Pamela Doughy, Charlotte, N.C.; a son, James P.
Brown Jr., Newfield; two brothers, Clarence W. Brown, Ohio, and Roscoe E. Brown, Princeton, W.Va.; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services and interment will be held Tuesday in Bridgeton.

BLOUNTVILLE -- Judith Lynn Musick Chapman, 51, of 299 West Hawley Road, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 1998, at her home.
She was a native of Russell County, a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Chapman; a son, Shawn Chapman, Blountville; her mother and stepfather, Virginia Kiser Musick Miller and Herman Miller; a brother, Jeff K. Miller, Kingsport; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Blanche Gibson
NORTON -- Blanche Hill Gibson, 77, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 1998, in Norton Community Hospital.
She retired from Norton Community Hospital, serving in housekeeping. She was the widow of Eulyce Gibson.
Survivors include an uncle, Emmett Day, Sharps Chapel, Tenn.; an aunt, Edna Addington, Phoenix, Ariz.; several cousins; and several nieces and nephews.

Annie M. Greer
SALTVILLE -- Annie M. Bise Greer, 85, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 1998, in Francis Marion Manor, Marion, Va.
She was a member of the Mt. View First Church of God and the widow of Elgin Greer.
Survivors include two sons, Carroll Greer, Chilhowie, and J.C. Greer, Saltville; three daughters, Jean Keesee and Mariville Ann Hall, both of Saltville, and Peggy Jones, Atkins, Va.; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Andy Hale
Carl Anthony Hale, 35, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 1998.
He was a lifelong resident of Bristol and attended Valley View Baptist Church.
He was employed with Wallace Oldsmobile and coached in the Washington County Little League for several years.
Survivors include his wife, Angie Jackson Hale; two children, Andrew Hale and Joey Hale both of the home; his mother, Laura Hale, Bluff City; his father, Tom Hale, Bristol Tennessee; three sisters, Patty Hale, Jonesborough, Tenn., Peggy Price, Kingsport, and Amy Hale, Bluff City; two brothers, Tom Hale Jr., Bluff City, and Eddie Hale, Bristol Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.

William S. Lorraine Sr.
BELFAST, Va. -- William S. "Bill" Lorraine Sr., 72, died Monday, Nov. 9, 1998, in a Richlands hospital.
He was a native of Wooster, Mass., and a retired maintenance supervisor. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of the VFW and Belfast United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nell Mercer Lorraine; two sons, William S. Lorraine Jr., and Bobby Lorraine, Waldorf, Md.; a stepson, James Cregger, Lewes, Del.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Peggy Peake, Leesburg,. Va.; a sister, Mrs. Rita Strouth, Vermont; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

ROSEDALE, Va. -- Gartha Meade, 76, of 18 Arch Barrett Drive, died Monday, Nov. 9, 1998, at his home.
He was a native of Wayne County, West Virginia, had resided in Rosedale for the past 16 years, and was a member of United Baptist Church, in Wayne County, W.Va. He attended the Rosedale Baptist Church, in Rosedale.
He was a retired electrician for Island Creek Coal Company, at Beatrice Pocahontas Mine, a member of Grundy Masonic Lodge and a member of the UMWA Local 1374.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Lee Queen Meade; a daughter, Mrs. Lowell (Zola) Burwell, Panama City, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Donald (Patsy) Stroud, Wilsondale, W.Va., and Mrs. Noah (Martha Jane) Kirk Jr., Huntington, W.Va.; three brothers, B.F. Meade, Princeton, W.Va., Wallace Meade, Wilsondale, W.Va., and Aley Meade, Logan, W.Va.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Garland A. Miller
POMEROY, Ohio -- Garland A. Miller, 62, formerly of Richlands, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 1998, in an Athens, Ohio, hospital.
He was retired from the military, where he attained the rank of Sgt. 1st Class in the U.S. Army. He received an associate degree from North Central Technical College, in Mansfield, Ohio, and was employed as a regional loss control manager with Utica National Insurance Company for 15 years.
Survivors include his wife, Sieglinda Franz Miller; two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Geneva) Goodman, Pounding Mill, Va., and Jeanette Horn, Mineral, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

Cossie Mooney
CLINTWOOD -- Cossie Mooney, 80, died Monday, Nov. 9, 1998, in Dickenson County Medical Center.
He was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County and a retired employee of Dickenson County, most recently employed as custodian in the Dickenson County Courthouse.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was of the Freewill Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Savannah Rose Mooney.
Survivors include a son, Richie Mooney, Dalton, Ga.; three brothers, Crit Mooney and Tolby Mooney, both of Clintwood, and Amos Mooney, Jacksonville, Fla.; four sisters, Snoda Bowman, Maggie Vanover and Ruth Lilly, all of Clintwood, and June Lilly, Cleveland, Ohio; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
