GLADE SPRING -- Gladys Marie Gentry, 69, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Washington County and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include four brothers, T.C. Gentry, Don Gentry, Hill Gentry and Sandy Gentry, all of Glade Spring; two sisters, Dorothy Ratliff and Gay Gentry, both of Glade Spring; several nieces and nephews; and a great-niece.

ABINGDON -- Louise Burke Jones, 68, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998, at her home.
She was a member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church and the Meadowview FCE Club.
Survivors include her husband, Rhea J. Jones; a brother, Joe W. Burke, Abingdon; two sisters, Mrs. Douglas (Christine) Hardwick and Mrs. Billy J. (Daisy) Campbell, both of Abingdon; and several nieces and nephews.

GRAY, Tenn. -- Nora Lee Byington King, 90, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998, in
Johnson City Medical Center.
She was a native of Russell County and had lived in Gray since 1968. She was of the Methodist faith.
She was the widow of Calvin King.
Survivors include two daughters, Frances K. Morrell, Bluff City, and Faye E. Dempsey,
Johnson City; a son, Arvil Lee "A.L." King, Kingsport; two sisters, Sally Kate Porter, Weber City, and Carmen Byington, Castlewood; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

DANTE -- Effie G. Kiser, 76, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998, in Russell County Medical Center, Lebanon.
She was a native of Dickenson County and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two sisters, June Witt, Dante, and Marie Cook, Castlewood; two brothers, Bobby Kiser, Castlewood, and Billy Kiser, Hazel Park, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.

Johnson City Medical Center.
Survivors include his parents, Roy Elvin and Sharon Kern Nunn; his brother, Benji Nunn of the home; his sister, Caitlyn Nunn of the home; his paternal grandmother, Alzry Nunn, Mt. Airy, N.C.; his maternal grandmother, Lillie Kern, Duffield; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

BLUFF CITY -- Alice Grace O'Dell, 80, of 239 Maplehurst Lane, died Friday, Nov. 6, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Bristol Tennessee. She retired from H.P. King Company and was a member of Windsor Avenue Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Haskell O'Dell; a daughter, Mrs. Gene (Margaret Jane) Camper, Bluff City; two sons, James Malcolm O'Dell, Kingsport, and John H. O'Dell, Bluff City; a sister, Irene Wilson, Scuddy, Ky.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

ABINGDON -- Mary Lorraine Stark, 87, of 19117 Cleveland Road, died Friday, Nov. 6, 1998, at her home.
She was a lifelong resident of the
Green Springs area, a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Abingdon, and the widow of J.B. Stark.
Survivors include five daughters, Louise Carrier, Betty Leonard and Doris Roop, all of Bristol Virginia, Judy Stark, Abingdon, and Barbara Nottingham, Mt. Carmel, Tenn.; three sons, Claude Stark, Abingdon, Carl Stark and Dale Stark, both of Bristol Virginia; a sister, Glenna Odum, Bristol Tennessee; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. -- David Romia Ballinger, 77, died Friday, Nov. 6, 1998, at his home.
He was a retired dispatcher for Pilot Freight and served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
Survivors include his wife, Garcie Hartman Ballinger; two sons, Carlton Ballinger, Roanoke, and Larry Ballinger, Glade Spring; two daughters, Brenda Edwards, Vinton, Va., and Linda Hall, Boones Mill, Va. 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
