Charles E. Waddell
BLUFF CITY -- Charles E. Waddell, 76, of 418 Cherokee Road, died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998, at his home.
He was a native of Sullivan County, a member of First Christian Church, Bluff City, and retired from LaRoche Bio-Medical Laboratories.
He was a lifetime member of the VFW and the Bluff City Rescue Squad.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Waddell; two stepdaughters, Lesa Blackstock, Rogersville, Tenn., and Debra Getz, Bluff City; a sister, Ruby Waddell, Bluff City; a brother, Paul Waddell, Bluff City; and three granddaughters.

George L. Walden
George L. Walden, 88, of Bristol Virginia, died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998, in Bristol Nursing Home.
He was a lifelong resident of Bristol, a member of the First Christian Church, where he served as a deacon.
He was owner and operator of George's Confectionery until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Francis Quales Walden, Bristol Virginia; a daughter, Mrs. Johnny (Betty) Worrell, Bristol Virginia; a sister, Mrs. Don (Jewel) VanPelt, Evansville, Ind.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Juanita Wallace
HONAKER -- Juanita Wallace, 74, of the Big A Mountain section, died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998, in Northeast Medical Center, Concord, N.C.
She was a native of Cleveland, Va., had resided in the Honaker area most of her life, was of the Baptist faith and the widow of Robert Eugene Wallace.
Survivors include a son, Roger E. Wallace, Mt. Pleasant, N.C.; a sister, Lucille Davis, Logan, Ohio; a brother, O.L. Campbell, Kingsport; four grandchildren, Keith, Wesley, Roby and Tina; and several nieces and nephews.

Fred A. Weatherly
Fred A. Weatherly, 77, of Bristol Virginia, died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Bristol Virginia, and a retired master sergeant with the U.S. Air Force, serving 26 years. He was twice decorated with the Distinguished Flying Cross.
He was a member of the Shelby Masonic Lodge No. 162.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Jane Ernst, Auburn, Calif.; and a grandson, David Cruise, Folsom, Calif.

Ruth M. Williams
Ruth Mink Williams, 84, of 204 Lakeview St., Bristol, Tenn., died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, in Wellmont Hospice House.
She was a member of East End Christian Church and the Senior Citizens Bowling League.
She retired from Big Jack Manufacturing Company, after 43 years of service, and was the widow of John Williams.
Survivors include a son, Donald Wayne "Moe" Williams, Piney Flats; a daughter, Shirley Marie Brock, Reelsville, Ind.; two sisters, Garnet Tillison, Blountville, and Evalee Kelley, Richmond; two brothers, Roy Mink, California, and Rueben Mink, Allen Park, Mich.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; several step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Jake D. Beeler
Jake D. Beeler, 81, of Bristol Tennessee, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a resident of Bristol for 60 years, a self-employed contractor and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Sea Bees.
He was a member of King Masonic Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star Border City No. 162. He was a former member of Calvery Baptist Church, where he was an ordained deacon, and was a current member of Bethel View Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Lee Bryant Beeler; a sister, Mary Goodell, Bristol Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.

DUNGANNON -- Ella Casteel Blevins, 90, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, in Norton Community Hospital.
She was a native of Russell County and the widow of Loyd Blevins.

John Henry Bowen, 62, of 632 East Valley Drive, Bristol, Va., died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He retired from Aramark, in Blountville, where he was employed for 36 years.
He was a member of Fellowship Chapel, the Kettlefoot Rod and Gun Club, the North American Hunting Club and the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include his wife, Dani Bowen; two daughters, Brenda Wright, Roanoke, and Melissa Hall, Bristol Virginia; three sons, Ronald Bowen and Donald Bowen, both of Roanoke, and Randy Bowen, Piney Flats.

WEBER CITY -- Sam Darnell, 70, of 100 Poplar Drive, died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1998, at his home.
He was a lifelong resident of Scott County, a U.S. Army veteran and a truck driver for Consolidated Freight. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Weber City, and a member of Clinchport Masonic Lodge No. 267,
Survivors include his wife, Peggy W. Darnell; his stepmother, Hazel Darnell, Kingsport; three sisters, Marcella
