John Henry Bowen, 62, of 632 East Valley Drive, Bristol, Va., died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He retired from Airmark, in Blountville, where he was employed for 36 years.
He was a member of Fellowship Chapel, the Kettlefoot Rod and Gun Club, the North American Hunting Club and the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include his wife, Dani Bowen; two daughters, Brenda Wright, Roanoke, and Melissa Hall, Bristol Virginia; three sons, Ronald Bowen and Donald Bowen, both of Roanoke, and Randy Bowen, Piney Flats.

LEBANON -- Steven B. Campbell, 34, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
He was a lifelong resident of Russell County and a farmer. He was a member of
Green Valley Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Nancy Campbell, Lebanon; a sister, Mrs. Eddie (Cathy) Stallard, Lebanon; and a brother, Bobby Campbell, Lebanon.

Jean Lunsford Carrier, 66, of Bristol Tennessee, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Bristol, a member of Tennessee Avenue Baptist Church, where she volunteered in the church library.
Survivors include a daughter, Teresa Jean Rainey, Bristol Tennessee; a son, William Randy Carrier, Bristol Virginia; two sisters, Ruth
Johnson and Ruby Carrier, both of Bristol Tennessee; two brothers, J.C. Lunsford and Carl Lunsford, both of Bristol Tennessee; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

GATE CITY -- Clayton Rex Gilreath, 71, of 389 West Jackson St., died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998, at his home.
He was a lifelong resident of Scott County, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a retired lab technician with Tennessee Eastman Chemical Company.
Mr. Gilreath attended Meade Chapel Church, was of the Baptist faith, and was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Belle Arrington Gilreath.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Marty (Deanna) Ward, Kingsport; a son, Rex Anthony Gilreath, Nickelsville; two sisters, Elsie Gilreath and Edith Griffin, both of Gate City; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

MARION, N.C. -- Ruth Davis Hess, 78, formerly of Bristol, died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998, in McDowell Nursing Home, Marion, N.C.
She had lived in Jacksonville, Fla., for the past 35 years and had made her home with a sister in Marion, N.C. She was a charter member of Virginia Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Hess Trice, Jacksonville, Fla.; a son, Guess A. Hess Jr., Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Gladys "Billie" Scott, Marion, N.C., and Mrs. Carl (Mary Jane) Mumpower, Bristol Tennessee; a brother, Joe H. Davis, Bristol Tennessee; a granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

GATE CITY -- Susie N. Crigger Miller, 92, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, in Cedar Lawn Convalescent Home, Abingdon.
She was a native of Abingdon, had lived most of her life in Gate City, and was a member of the Gate City United Methodist Church.
She was the widow of George W. Miller.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth W. Miller, Bristol Tennessee, and Garland D. Miller, Kingsport; a sister, Pauline Gose, Lebanon; a brother, J.C. Crigger, Abingdon; a granddaughter; two grandsons; a step-grandson; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was a native of Russell County, had made her home with her son and daughter-in-law for the past 30 years and was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include a son, Bobby McGraw, Richlands; four sisters, Mrs. Judy Lambert, Cedar Bluff, Mrs. Josie Plaster, Swords Creek, Mrs. Ellen Elswick and Mrs. Edna Dye, both of Richlands; and a grandson.
