Barbara "B.J." Able McClennen, 48, died Friday, Feb. 6, 1998, in Sevierville, Tenn.
She was a native of the Bristol and Abingdon areas and had lived in the Richmond area for the past five years.
She was a receptionist for Signs Unlimited in Richmond.
Survivors include two daughters, Sarah Harris and Angela Jackson, both of Bristol, Virginia; one sister, Mary Ellen Henry, Etowah, Tenn; and four grandsons.

Marvin L. Roark
ABINGDON -- Marvin Lester Roark, 60, of
Green Spring Rest Home, Abingdon, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
He was a lifelong resident of Abingdon, a former employee of Barter Theatre and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Don F. (Jean) Clark, Abingdon, and Mrs. Gilbert (JoAnn) Torbett, Bristol, Tennessee; two brothers, Earl M. Roark Jr., Monahans, Texas, and William M. Roark, Abingdon; and several nieces and nephews.

Gary L. Wallace
WARRENSVILLE, N.C. -- Gary Lee Wallace, 42, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, at his home.
He was a native of Oxford, Pa., and an employee of Jefferson Apparel.
Survivors include his wife, Ramona Semones Wallace; two daughters, Amber Wilson and Chelsea Wallace, both of the home; his mother, Katherine Wallace, Lansing, N.C.; one brother, Tony A. Wallace, West Jefferson, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and burial will be held Tuesday in Lansing, N.C.

LEBANON -- Thomas Edward White, 87, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, in Tazewell Community Hospital.
He was a lifelong resident of Russell County and was a farmer.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth W. Warner, Lebanon, Mrs. Mary Ruth Woods, Williamsport, Ind., and Mrs. Elsie Fields, West Lebanon, Ind.; James White and Robert White, both of Indiana, Roger Dale White, West Lebanon, Ind., and Jerry White; one sister, Susie Tuggle, Pennsylvania; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Jimmy R. Beverly
WISE -- Jimmie Royce Beverly, 66, died Friday, Feb. 6, 1998, at his home.
He was a former partner of Norton Petroleum Company, Norton, Cabot Coal Company, Blue Stone Mining Company and VAB Coal Company. He was retired and was the owner of Jimmie Beverly Trucking Company for 12 years.
He was a member of Norton Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Trinkle Beverly, Wise; one son, Gregory Beverly, Norton; two daughters, Deborah Beverly-Boatright and Shannon Arwood, both of Wise; his mother, Hazel Jessee Beverly, Wise; four brothers, Roger Beverly, Douglas Beverly, Lester Beverly and Jeffery Beverly, all of Wise; four sisters, Georgia Bradley, Jacksonville, Fla., Dinah Kilgore, Faye Franklin and Freida Hensley, all of Wise; and four grandchildren.

David C. Colley
ABINGDON -- David C. Colley, 77, of 332 Bradley Street, died Friday, Feb. 6, 1998, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
He was a native of Abingdon and had lived in the Abingdon area most of his life.
He was associated with Abingdon Frozen Food for 36 years, was a U.S. Army Staff Sgt. during World War II, and was a member of American Legion Post 12 and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was a member of Abingdon Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Gregory Colley; one daughter, Elizabeth Phillippi, Abingdon; one half-brother, Paul E. Lloyd, Charlotte, N.C.; two grandsons, Joseph Davis Phillippi and Jason Darren Phillippi, both of Abingdon; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

WISE -- Mary Blanche Riggs Countiss, 86, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, in Wise Appalachian Regional Hospital, Wise.
She was a retired teacher in Wise County School System for 30 years, a member of Wise Trinity United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Gladeville Chapter 171 Order of Eastern Star, Fort Nightly Club and VFW Auxiliary.
She was the widow of Arnold C. Countiss.
Survivors include two brothers, James L. Riggs, Wise, and Dr. Bruce Riggs, Big Stone Gap; two sisters, Virginia Roberts, Pound, and Lucille Mason, Big Stone Gap; and several nieces and nephews.

NORTON -- Delno Cowden, 75, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, in Holston Valley Hospital, Kingsport.
He was a longtime resident of the Norton area.
Survivors include his wife, Froncy T. Cowden; three daughters, Barbara Cowden, Smithfield, Va., Dianne Cockrell, Hampton, Va., and Donna Miller, Tunnell Hill, Ga.; two brothers, John Cowden, McKenney, Va., and James Cowden, Cobbs Creek, Va.; three sisters, Ruby Smith, Crouse, N.C., Rosa Lee Parhams, Anderson, Ind., and Neil Miller, Wise; ten grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pearl Cross Crussell, 95, of 1814 Southside Avenue, Bristol, Tenn., died Friday, Feb. 6, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County, a homemaker and the widow of William Crussell.
She was a member of Blountville Christian Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Earl "Hazel" Moretz, West Palm Beach, Fla., Mrs. Berlie "Mary" Barry, Mountain City, Mrs. Faye Webb and Mrs. Ralph (Juanita) Harkleroad, both of Bristol, Tennessee; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
