WYTHEVILLE -- William Carl Gilman, 67, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998, in Roanoke Rehab Center.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Dean (Phyllis) Dunford, Wytheville, Mrs. Rick (Faye) Hill and Mary Peters, all of Bristol; three sons, Gerald Gilman, Ft. Campbell, Ky., Ronnie Gilman, Bristol, Tennessee and Mike Faulks, Charlotte, N.C.; his mother, Laura E. Gilman, Wytheville; one brother, Kenneth Wayne Gilman, Wytheville; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Edward J. Hall
RICHLANDS -- Edward Jackson Hall, 82, of 1910 Fifth Street, died Friday, Jan. 30, 1998, in a Richlands hospital.
He was a native of Tazewell County, Va., and had lived in the Tazewell County area all of his life.
He was a retired employee of the Tazewell County School Board, serving 37 years, and was of the Holiness faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Farmer Hall.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Beulah Irene Smith, Falls Mill, Va., Mrs. Sally Bandy, Maryland, and Mrs. Virginia Hall, Richlands; three brothers, John Alex Hall, Tazewell, Earl Hall, Bluefield, Va., and Clarence Hall, Richlands.

Hettie Hearl
CLINCHCO -- Hettie Hearl, 92, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998.
She was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County and a member of Turner Old Regular Baptist church.
She retired from the dietary department of Haysi High School and was the widow of her first husband, Harlan Harrison, and the widow of her second husband, Wes Hearl.
Survivors include three daughters, Faye Childress and Irene Turner, both of Clinchco, and Shirley Caldwell, Clintwood; one stepdaughter, Trula Davis, Clinchco; three sisters, Bertha Turner, Haysi, Mary Robinson, Michigan, and Ellen Caudill, Cleveland, Va.; four brothers, Cecil Barton and Marvin Barton, both of Haysi, Bill Barton, Michigan, and Harold Barton, North Carolina; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

GLADE SPRING -- Mrs. Sue (Farris) Honaker, 67, died Friday, Jan. 30, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, Tennessee.
She attended Global Church of God.
Survivors include two sons, Herbert Honaker, Katy, Texas, and Jesse Honaker, Bristol, Virginia; two daughters, Wanda Frye, Saltville, and Lynda Thomas, Glade Spring; her mother, Mary (Farris) Adair, Glade Spring; two brothers, Richard Farris, Meadowview, and Elmer Farris, Glade Spring; three half-brothers, Moe Adair, Bristol, Virginia, Joe Adair, Glade Spring, and Curtis Adair, Kingsport; two sisters, Judy Velasco, Houston, Texas, and Ann Farris, Glade Spring; one half-sister, Ferida Crutchfield, Abingdon; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Gerald E. Hopkins
PANAMA CITY, Fla. -- Gerald Evans Hopkins, 74, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998.
He was a native of Bluff City, had lived in the Asheville area from 1952 until 1965, and was a retired used auto salesman.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Owenby Hopkins; two sons, James Hopkins, Bristol, Tennessee, and Eugene Hopkins, Statesville, N.C.; one daughter, Geraldine "Jo Jo" Isaac, Statesville, N.C.; two sisters, Madge
Jones and Mary Gragg, both of Bristol, Tennessee; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday in Swannanoa, N.C., with burial in Fairview, N.C.

Edna R. Hubbard
WISE -- Edna Riner Hubbard, 93, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 1998 at the home of her daughter in Jonesborough.
She was a born again Christian and was a member of Indian Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
She was the widow of James "Russ" Hubbard.
Survivors include two daughters, Mildred H. Robertson and Wilma H. Carter, both of Jonesborough, Tenn.; three sons, Edward Hubbard, Virginia Beach, Va., Hurl "Peck" Hubbard, Neon, Ky., and Huilet Hubbard, Roanoke, Va.; three sisters, Susie Cox, Pound, Barbara Anderson, Orange, Calif., and Anna Browning, Jonesborough; one brother, Robert Riner, Wise; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Edna L. Canter Kelsey, 74, of 940 Barker St., Bristol, Tenn., died Thursday, Jan. 29, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Bristol and retired from L.C. King Mfg. Company.
She was a member of Belle Meadows Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, John Kelsey; one daughter, Patricia Fleenor, Bristol, Virginia; one step-son, John C. Kelsey, Bluff City; four sisters, Mary Faith and Peggy Hickman, both of Bristol, Tennessee, Linda Canter and Nancy Canter, both of Bristol, Virginia; one brother, Jay Dean Canter, Glenn St. Mary, Fla.; one granddaughter; three step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

BLUFF CITY -- Pat Myers, 62, of 174 Elm Lane, died Friday, Jan. 30, 1998, in Wellmont Hospice House.
She was a native of Garrison, Mo., had lived in Bluff City since 1968, and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

JONESVILLE -- Mrs. Louvenia J. Perkins, 86, of Everetts, Ky., formerly of Jonesville, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998, in Knox County General Hospital, Barbourville, Ky.
She was a native of Lee County, where she lived before moving to Kentucky in 1968.
She was a graduate of Jonesville High School, was a member of First United Methodist Church, Jonesville, for many years and was the widow of Dillard Perkins.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Hushel Stradley, Oak Ridge, Tenn.; three brothers, C.L. Jennings, Roanoke, H.P. Jennings, Jonesboro, Ark., and B.G. Jennings, Wise; and several nieces and nephews.

Fred Powers
BEE, Va. -- Fred Powers, 90, of HC-4, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998, at his home.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Dickenson County and Bee, Va., was a graduate of Dickenson Memorial High School and Hiwassee College.
He was a retired educator, carpenter and merchant, and attended the Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Zora I. Edwards Powers; three daughters, Fairy Sells, Elizabethtown, Ky., Carol Clark, Danville, Ky., and Zay Viers, Council, Va.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
