SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- Mary Ellen Dather, 69, died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at her home.
She was a native of Ceres, Va., and was a member of Washington Heights Chapel, Sioux City.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth H. Dather Sr.; three sons, David Dather, Milford, Iowa, Kenneth H. Dather Jr., Sioux City, and Kelli Ford, Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; three daughters, Sheila G. Ford and Linda Larsen, both of Sioux City, and Pamela Proffitt, Des Moines; four sisters, Catherine Atwell, Saltville, Hazel Hubble, Nebo, Olivene Hall, Marion, and Margaret Warner, Rockville, Md.; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial will be held Wednesday in Sioux City.

CERES, Va. -- David G. Hubble Jr., 72, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha Hubble; two daughters, Gail Hawk and Darlene Turley, both of Ceres; one son, David Hubble, Lebanon; his mother, Janie Hubble McGuire, Bluefield, W.Va.; two sisters, Marie Altizer, Tazewell, and Dorthy Whitehead, Bluefield, W.Va; one brother, Bailey Hubble, Pulaski; and seven grandchildren.

Willis James
Willis James, 75, of 400 Randolph Street, Bristol, Va., died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, at his home.
He was a native of Bristol, Virginia and a retired Captain of the Bristol, Virginia Fire Department with 31 years of service.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of VFW Patton-Crosswhite Post 6975.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Methodist Men's Club.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Eden James; one daughter, Veda Parks, Chattanooga, Tenn.; one son, Gary Michael James, Kingsport; one sister, Lucille Dunlap, Tucson, Ariz.; one brother, Billy Joe James, Camp, Va.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

ROWE -- Guyda Lynn Stacy Lester, 25, formerly of Vansant, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, in Bluefield Regional Hospital, Bluefield, W.Va., from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was a native of Tazewell County, a 1991 graduate of Grundy Senior High School, and was most recently a student in Grundy Beauty Academy, Grundy.
She was of the Holiness faith.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Lester; her parents, Harrial Stacy and Linda Hawks Stacy, Vansant; one brother, Harrial Stacy Jr.; her paternal grandmother, Josephine Stacy, Richlands, her maternal grandmother, Guyda Canterbury, Ridgeway; and several aunts and uncles.

Orville Lester
DORAN -- Orville Lester, 77, of the Baker Hollow section, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998, at his home.
He was a native of Tazewell County, a lifelong resident of the Doran area and was a retired miner with Westbury Coal Company, Cedar Bluff, serving 44 years before his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. June Marie Asbury Lester.
Survivors include three daughters, Jay (Shirly) Cordle and Mrs. Paul (Judy) Shelton, both of Doran, and Linda Keen, Richlands; one son, Orville (Steve) Lester, Doran; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Lester Shelton, Doran; one brother, Homer Lester, Cedar Bluff; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was a member of Glade Spring Fire Department.
Survivors include his parents, Ronald and Connie McGlochlin, Glade Spring; his maternal grandmother, Katherine Faust, Bristol, Virginia; two sisters, Rebecca Kestner, Saltville, and Tina Hamm, Glade Spring; one niece; and several uncles and aunts.

MARION -- Roy L. Moore, 76, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, in Smyth County Community Hospital.
He was a native of Glade Spring and had lived in the Chester, Pa., area for most of his life.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include one daughter, Virginia Anne Bateman, Glen Rock, Pa.; five sisters, Helen Wagner, Harve de Grace, Md., Loraine Eisner, Glen Burnie, Md., Mary Lou Wilson, Cockeysville, Md., Dot Dalton, Hertford, N.C., and Sue Burchett, Baltimore; five brothers, James Moore, Millers, Md., Harry Lee Moore, Elkton, Md., William Moore, McConnellsburg, Pa., Robert Moore, Eddystone, Pa., and Roger Moore, Sugar Grove; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mavis M. Stephenson
MORGANTON, N.C. -- Mavis Matthews Stephenson, 96, formerly of Lenoir Road, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, in Autumn Care.
She was a native of Harnett County, N.C., and was a retired grocery store owner in Wilmington, N.C.
She was the widow of William S. Stephenson.
Survivors include two daughters, Elender S. Blackburn, Wilmington, and Ann S. Greer, Morganton; four sons, Loyd Stephenson, Wilmington, Lynwood Stepehenson, Fayetteville, Terry Stephenson, Spartanburg, S.C., and Phillip Stephenson,
Johnson City; 21 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Monday in Morganton, with burial Tuesday in Harnett County, N.C.

Veronica S. Willhite
AUSTELL, Ga. -- Veronica Sue Willhite, 28, of 4228 Floyd Road, Apartment B, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998, in Cartersville Medical Center, Cartersville, Ga.
She had lived most of her life in the Bristol area, was a graduate of John S. Battle High School, where she was a cheerleader for four years, and was a former Miss John S. Battle.
She was an employee of Home Depot and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include one son, Brandon Chase Willhite, Austell; her mother, Judy Hensley, Bristol, Virginia; and one brother, Kenny Hensley, Bristol, Virginia.
