William E. Jones
KNOXVILLE - William Elbert Jones, CLU, 67, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, in University of Tennessee Hospital.
He was a member and elder of New Hope Presbyterian Church, was retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee, and was a veteran of the Korean War.
He served as a Knox County Commissioner, patron of the arts and had a special love and talent for art.
Survivors include his wife, Agatha "Aggie" Jones; one son, Staff Sgt. Daniel E. Jones, United States Air Force, Charleston, S.C.; and one daughter, Deborah
Jones Knapp, Knoxville.
Funeral services will be held Sunday in Knoxville.

Mabel Joyce
RICHLANDS -- Mrs. Mabel Joyce, 64, of the Kents Ridge Road section, died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, in a Richlands hospital.
She was a native of Tazewell County, the widow of James Perry Joyce, and a member of Miracle Valley Church, Richlands.
Survivors include one daughter, Karen Sue Rumley, Cedar Bluff; two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Weaver, Boissevain, Va., and Mrs. Mary Ann Adkins, Cedar Bluff; one granddaughter, Kathy Gilbert; one grandson, John Combs; and two great-grandchildren.

George V. Roberts
WISE -- George V. Roberts, 73, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, in St. Mary's Hospital, Norton.
He was of the Pentecostal faith and was a retired coal miner.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Roberts, Wise, and Randall Roberts, Florida; two sisters, Alberta Muncy, Wise, and Casby Hagerman, Glascoe, Ky.; two brothers, Arthur Roberts, Wise, and Emmitt Roberts, Pound; and four grandchildren.

Eva M. Seal
Eva M. Lamb Seal, 90, of Bristol, Tennessee, formerly of Sneedville, died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a member of Sandy Springs Baptist Church and the widow of Hugh Seal.
Survivors include three sons, Hugh E. Seal and William G. Seal, both of Providence, R.I., and Alf M. Seal, Franklin, Va.; four daughters, Dolly M. Harrell, Ahoskie, N.C., Betty Brooks, Providence, Judy Seal, Bristol, Tennessee, and Sue Johnson, Four Oaks, N.C.; 37 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and burial will be held Tuesday in Sneedville.

Rufus Webb
CLINTWOOD -- Rufus Webb, 88, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, in Dickenson County Medical Center.
He was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County and a member of Valley View Freewill Baptist Church.
He was retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Survivors include his wife, Carrie Webb, Clintwood; three daughters, Rose Sykes, Chesapeake, Va., Roma Bryant and Linia Mullins, both of Clintwood; two sons, Billy Webb, Detroit, and Franklin Dee Webb, Clintwood; one sister, Westina Dingus, Castlewood; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Garland F. Anderson
VANSANT -- Garland Fred Anderson, 53, of Leemaster area, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, in Princeton Community Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Buchanan County, a graduate of Grundy High School Class of 1962, a charter member of Buchanan County Wild Turkey Federation and a member of Dismal River Hunt Club.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and an employee of Jewell Smokeless Coal Corporation for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nila Day Anderson; one daughter, Mrs. Jim (Susan Renee) Anderson Lyles, Vansant; one son, James Lee Anderson, Spartanburg, S.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Leland (Margaret) Looney and Mrs. Paul (Iris) Hays, both of Vansant; one brother, Ralph Anderson, Greenville, S.C.; and two grandchildren.

Johnson CITY -- Edward Arlie Blevins, 61, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center,
Johnson City, Tenn.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include two sons, both of West Virginia; one daughter, West Virginia; one brother, Curtis Blevins, Saltville; five sisters, Eva Goodpasture and Ovella Smith, both of Bristol, Virginia, Christine Chandler, Bunnievel, N.C., Phyllis DeBord, Orlando, Fla., and Jean Warren, Saltville; and several nieces and nephews.

Omer C. Boyd
Omer Clyde Boyd, 81, of 1413 Sugar Hollow Drive, Bristol, Tenn., died Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County and retired from Imperial Reading Company.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Zillah Smithson Boyd in l973, and was a member of River Bend Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Charlotte Boyd, Bristol, Tennessee; one son, Clyde Boyd, Bristol, Virginia; two brothers, R.C. Boyd and Joseph Theo Boyd, both of Bristol, Tennessee; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Randy D. Damron
RICHLANDS -- Mr. Randy Darrell Damron, 49, of 229 Burnette Street, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, at his home.
He was a lifelong resident of the Richlands area, a 1967 graduate of Richlands High School and was a mine foreman for A&N Coal Company, Keen Mountain.
He was a member of Soul's Harbor Church, Rosedale, and a U.S. Army veteran serving in Germany.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Donna McKinney Damron; two daughters, Miss Neyia Damron and Miss Miana Damron, both of the home; one sister, Mrs. Rita Houchins, Paintlick, Va.; three brothers, Gary Damron, Wardell, Va., Oley J. Damron Jr., Richlands, and Rodney Damron, Shortt Gap, Va.
