MARION -- Jacob Scott Kelly, infant son of Chad Everett Kelly and Melissa Woods Kelly, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1998.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his paternal grandmother, Kathryn Kelly, Marion; his paternal grandfather, John Franklin Kelly, Ohio; his maternal grandfather, Blain Woods, Sugar Grove; his great-grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Claude Woods, Sugar Grove, Mr. & Mrs. Lavern Blevins, Marion, and Mr. & Mrs. James R. Kelly, Georgia; one aunt; and several great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.

Charlie R. Musick
LEBANON -- Charlie Robert Musick, 53, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1998, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
He was a lifelong resident of Russell County, a disabled employee of Clinchfield Coal Company and a member of UMWA Local 2274.
He was of the Baptist faith and was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Patty Cook Musick; two daughters, Robin Musick, Lebanon, and Mrs. Mark (Annissa Dawn) Boardwine, Pounding Mill; one son, Robert Christopher Musick, Lebanon; two brothers, Ronnie Musick, Castlewood, and Larry Musick, Bristol, Tennessee.

Leo V. Patterson
WYTHEVILLE -- Leo V. Patterson, 92, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1997, in Wythe County Community Hospital.
He was a native of Durham, N.C., and was owner//operator of Betterway Laundry and Dry Cleaning.
He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church where he served as superintendent of Sunday school, vestryman and choir member for many years.
He was the oldest member of Wytheville Rotary Club, was a Paul Harris Fellow, an avid golfer and superior musician, and a member of American Contract Bridge League for more than 20 years.
Survivors include his wife, Clarice W. Patterson; three sons, Dr. James E. Patterson and John Avey Patterson, both of Marion, and Fredrick Bruce Patterson, Bristol; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Rhoda T. Shuey
MOUNTAIN CITY -- Rhoda Tucker Shuey, 91, of 919 Medical Park Drive, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998, in
Johnson County Hospital.
She was a native of Avery County, N.C., a graduate of Watauga Academy, Butler, Tenn., and Howard-Henderson School of Nursing.
She was a retired State of California employee from San Bernardino County Hospital and had lived in California for 45 years before moving to Bristol House in 1990.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include four brothers, Troy, Elbert, Warren and Ellis Tucker; and two sisters, Louise T. Pleasant and Florence Tucker.

James Van Deventer
ABINGDON -- James A. "Vandy" Van Deventer, 90, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
He was a native of Lee County, Va., lived most of his life in Abingdon, and was a retired bookkeeper with Washington Motor Company.
He was a member of Lone Branch Baptist Church, Lee County, and was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Lucille Virginia Berry Van Deventer.
Survivors include one sister-in-law, Mabel Berry, Long Boat Key, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Rachel K. Walden
CLEVELAND, Va. -- Rachel "Na Na" Kiser Walden, 71, of Carbo Community, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998, in Wellmont Hospice House.
She was the widow of James R. Walden Sr., and attended Stallard Memorial Church, St. Paul.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ted (Linda) Lampkin, Mrs. David (Karen) Sutherland and Cathy Talbert, all of Carbo, Va.; one son, James R. Walden Jr., Carbo; three sisters, Inez Jessee, Dandridge, Tenn., Moeretta Roberts, Oak Ridge, and Phyllis Boone, Hampton, Va.; four brothers, B.J. Kiser and Marvin Kiser, both of Carbo, Ortin Kiser, Roanoke, and Wayne Kiser, Gary, Inc.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Harvey Wallace
CASTLEWOOD -- Harvey Wallace, 58, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998, in Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon.
He was a native of Hopewell, Va., a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietname War and a resident of Graystone Manor, St. Paul, for the past four years.
Survivors include one aunt, Gerry Mifka, Chester, Va.

Mary W. Widner
Mary Whitlow Widner, 90, of 2485 King Mill Pike, Bristol, Va., died Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998, in NHC Health Care.
She was the widow of Samuel F. Widner and a member of Shakesville Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sisters, Ennis Miller and Jeanette Whitlow, both of Bristol, Virginia; one brother, D.M. (Morton) Whitlow, Abingdon; nine step-children; several step-grandchildren; and six nieces.

Harry S. Williams
MARION -- Harry Sanders Williams, 67, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998, in Smyth County Community Hospital.
He was a native of Smyth County, a graduate of Chilhowie High School, attended Emory & Henry College and graduated from Virginia Tech's School of Engineering.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart.
In 1962, he founded and was president of H.S.
Williams Company, Inc., Marion, achieving the distinction of having the largest metal building contracting company in the world.
He was a charter member of Systems Buildings Association and served on the Board of Directors as well as being in the Association's Hall of Fame.
He served as president of the Board of Visitors of Emory & Henry College, was a member of the Board of Directors of United Inter-Mountain Telephone Company and was a member of Smyth County Board of Supervisors.
Mr.
Williams was instrumental in establishing scholarships at Virginia Tech, Emory & Henry College, Wytheville Community College, Oak Hill Academy and North Dakota State College.
He served on the Executive Committee for Student Aid at Virginia Tech and was a member of the UT PROSIM Society at the University.
He served on the Citizens Advisory Committee on the Executive Mansion of the State of Virginia, was chairman of the Mountain Empire Industrial Park and was a member of the Chamber of Commerce Industrial Committee.
Mr.
Williams was a member of the VFW and American Legion, was a former member of the Marion Volunteer Fire Department and helped start the Little League Football Program in Marion.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Marion.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Berry Williams; one brother, Captain William G. "Bill" Williams, USMC retired; and several nieces and nephews.
