BALLAM - February 25, died peacefully in hospital. Roy, aged 86 years, of Front Street, Sowerby, Thirsk, a dearly loved husband of Clare and loving dad to Richard. Served in the R.A.F. during World War II and survived four years as a Japanese Prisoner of War, before becoming a Director at Wormald's and Walker's Mill, Thornhill Lees, Dewsbury and later Landlord of the Old Three Tuns in Thirsk. Worked with Clare for many years as a volunteer in successfully creating specialist provision for Autism and supporting people with learning disabilities within Thirsk and across Yorkshire. Funeral Tuesday, March 6, 2007. Would friends please meet at 11.00 a.m. for the service at St. Oswald's Church, Sowerby.
