HOLDERNESS - Irene Mary, aged 87 years, died peacefully at Rivermead Nursing Home, Norton, Malton on November 10, 2006. She was formerly of Marton, North York-shire. Mrs. Holderness, the widow of George Holderness, formerly Vicar of St. Cuthbert's Church, Darlington (1947-1955), Bishop of Burnley (1955-1970) and Dean of Lichfield (1970-1979), is survived by two daughters, Anne and Susan and by a son David, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren. The funeral will be held on Monday, November 20 at 12.00 noon at St. Gregory's Minster, Kirkdale, Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire.
