Cortege leaving residence at 12.05 p.m. on Thursday, January 12 for service in St. Luke's Church at 12.15 p.m., followed by interment in Duncombe Cemetery. Will friends please meet for refreshments at The Manor House after-wards.


PEDEN - Matthew Ross Peden, aged 86 years, of Darlington, died January 12, dearly loved husband of Dorothy. Dorothy and Barbara invite all who loved Ross to join with them in a Service of Thanksgiving at Eastbourne Methodist Church on Friday, January 20 at 2.15 p.m. No flowers please. Donations in lieu for St. Teresa's Hospice c/o Seaton Leng and Son Ltd. 59a Bondgate, Darlington DL3 7JR.


PHILLIPS - January 9, peacefully in hospital, of Dean Bank Grange, Ferryhill. Hilda (nee Blair), aged 78 years, dearly loved wife of Albert (Phil), loving mam of Bob and the late Tony, dearest mother-in-law of Laura and Judith, dear sister of Bob, sister-in-law of Margaret and a much loved grandma and great-grandma. Would friends please meet for service at Durham Crematorium Chapel on Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at 10.00 a.m. Family flowers only. Donations if desired to the Butterwick Hospice. A plate will be provided at the Crematorium.


RAILTON - January 5, of Eastwood Hall, Barningham. Jeremy, aged 72 years, beloved husband of Rosemary and also a much loved father and grandfather. A Thanksgiving Service following a private cremation will take place in St Michael and All Angels Church, Barningham on Tuesday, January 17 at 2.30 p.m.

Frances, aged 91 years, of Stanton Hall, Darlington, wife of the late William, dear mother of Jim, David and the late Alan, step-mother of Dorothy and the late Herbert, also mother-in-law, grandma and great-grandma. Funeral Wednesday January 18. Would friends please meet 11.45 a.m. for service at Darlington Crematorium. Family flowers only please.


READSHAW - January 10, of Mill Street, Willington. Emma, aged 89 years, beloved wife of the late Percy, loving mother of Brian and Michael, dear mother-in-law of Carole and Wendy, devoted gran of Julie, Lesley, Simon, Lisa, Lindsay and Katie and great-gran of Lauren, Tom, Lucy, Nathan and Daniel and sister-in-law of Jeffrey and Joyce. Friends please meet for service at St. Stephen's Church, Willington on Wednesday, January 18 at 10.30 a.m., followed by cremation at Durham. All are welcome afterwards for refreshments at the Kensington Hall Hotel.

Jean, dearly loved wife of the late Bill, dear mother of the late Mavis and a much loved sister, sister-in-law, special aunt, great-aunt and friend. ROBINSON - Ethel, aged 85 years, of Gainford, died peacefully in hospital on January 10. Beloved daughter of the late Elizabeth and Anthony Oliver Robinson, dearest sister to the late Len, Harry and Lizzie, a dear aunt and great-aunt to Stuart. Funeral service at St. Mary's Church, Gainford on Thursday, January 19 at 11.00 a.m., followed by interment in the cemetery. Friends please meet at the church. RUDD - Died January 6, peacefully in hospital, of Aiskew, formerly of Exelby. Kathleen Margaret (Kay), aged 77 years, dearly loved wife of the late Allen, dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Martin and Kathryn and dear sister of Betty and Christine. Funeral service to be held at Darlington Crematorium on Friday, January 13 at 1.15 p.m. Family flowers only. Stanley, aged 85 years, dearly loved husband of Edna, loving father of Linda and Derek, dearest grandad to Graham, Helen, Robin, Christopher and Amy. Would friends please meet for service at St. Paul's Church, Haswell on Thursday, January 19 at 12.00 noon, prior to cremation at Durham Crematorium.


SMITH - Eric John, aged 74 years, of Catterick Village (formerly of Langley Slough), died peacefully in hospital on January 6, 2006. A dearly loved husband and father. Funeral service at Darlington Crematorium on Monday, January 16, 2006 at 1.45 p.m. Friends please meet at the Crematorium. No flowers by request. Donations if desired may be given at the Crematorium for the Children's Trust Fund, Friarage Hospital, Northallerton.

Irene, of Letchworth, aged 56 years, loving wife of Richard, much loved mother of Richard, treasured sister of Tom and John, loved sister-in-law of Theresa and Mandy, loved aunty of Paul, Tracey, Clare, Thomas, Emma and Richard and their children. Daughter of the late Tot and Ena Hinton, of Hesleden. Cremation at Harwood Park, Stevenage, Monday, January 16 at 3.30 p.m.

Dulcie, aged 74 years, cherished wife of the late Jim, loving mother of the late John and Stuart, devoted grandma of Angela, Lee and Andrew, great-grandma to Jamie, Ben, Rebecca and Hayley, sadly missed mother-in-law to Ann and auntie of Cynthia.
