HENDERSON - Mary Jane, aged 91 years, of Garden View, Butterknowle, died peacefully in hospital on January 30. Dearly loved wife of Ossie and a dear sister, sister-in-law, aunt and great-aunt. Funeral service at Darlington Crematorium on Tuesday, February 7 at 2.15 p.m. Friends please meet at the crematorium chapel. Family flowers only please, if desired, donations may be given on the plate provided at the crematorium chapel for the Butterknowle Surgery Equipment Fund.


HODGSON - January 31 (peacefully, in Bishopgate Lodge Nursing Home) formerly of Brooklands, Bishop Auckland. Joyce, aged 75 years, dearly loved sister of Ken and loving sister-in-law to Margaret, also a dear aunt of Barbara, Julie and families. Cremation private.


HOLMES - January 24 (peacefully, at home), of Goodyear Crescent, Sherburn Road. Irene, aged 62 years. Beloved wife of the late Allan, a devoted mam of Linda and Sonya, a dear grandma to Cole, Ben and Danielle and mother-in-law to Dave and Bryan. Will friends please meet for service at St. Gile's Church, Gilesgate on Monday February 6, at 10.50 a.m. followed by cremation at Durham Crematorium. Family flowers only please with donations kindly accepted by Cancer Research.


HORNBY - Jeffrey (Jeff), aged 64 years, of East Layton, died suddenly in hospital on January 26. Dearly loved husband of Dot, much loved dad of Geoffrey and Ann, step-dad to David, a loving grandad and dearest brother to Margaret and Dennis and the late Ronnie and Marion and a dear uncle. Funeral service at Darlington Crematorium on Friday, February 3 at 11.15 a.m. Friends please meet at the Crematorium Chapel. Family flowers only please, if desired, donations may be given on the plate provided at the Crematorium Chapel for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.


HOYLAND - (Wingate) On January 28. John Barrie (Kidder), aged 60 years. To all his marra's, at home where he wanted to be with his family around him after a swift illness bravely fought with the very best of courage and with a great fighting spirit. 'My big strong lad is in no more pain.' Loved husband of Edie, dearest da of John Barrie Junior, Denise and Wayne, father-in-law to Tracey, Graham and Linda. Lots of kisses and nippy cheeks for Gan'da from all the grandbairns. Beloved son of Nancy and the late Jack and a much loved brother of six. Cortege leaving residence Friday at 10.20 a.m. Friends please meet at Holy Trinity Church for service at 10.30 a.m., followed by interment in the churchyard, afterwards to the Constitutional Club to share a glass or two. The family request that some may wish to wear a red tie to give our much loved 'teddy boy' a real rocking rebel rouser send off. Family flowers only. HUNTINGDON - Ada Ellen (nee Hedley) on February 2, of Jubilee Place, Shotton. Ada, aged 80 years. A loving mother of James, David, Jean, Lloyd, Christine and Sandra, a dear mother-in-law of Angela, Margaret, Billy, Ken and Lynsey, a devoted nana, great-nana and great-great-nana and also a much loved sister. Kitty, aged 92 years, of Beckside House, Thol-thorpe, formerly of Druids Meadow, Boroughbridge and Gilling House, Great Ouseburn. Loving wife of the late Herbert, dear mother to Maureen and Keith, a devoted nana and great-nana. Funeral service to be held at Stonefall Crematorium, Harrogate on Friday, February 3, 2006 at 12.20 p.m. Family flowers only please. Hilda (nee Wales), aged 69 years, a beloved wife of Robert, dearly loved mother of Pauline, Anthony and the late Christine, also a much loved mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Funeral Friday, February 3. Will friends please meet 1.10 p.m. for service in St. Michael's Church, followed by cremation at Durham. Family flowers only. JACKSON - January 30 (peacefully at home), of Coronation Terrace, West Cornforth. Albereda (Mot) nee Barras, aged 77 years, beloved wife of the late George Robert (Geordy), loving mother of Fred, Tom and Albereda, a dear mother-in-law and devoted granny of Robert, Victoria and Rebecca and great-granny of Andrew, Rebecca and Nataila, also a dear grandmother-in-law to Shaun and Andy. Cortege leaving above residence on Wednesday, February 8 at 1.00 p.m. for a service in St. Anne's Church, Bishop Auckland at 1.30 p.m., followed by interment in Bishop Auckland Cemetery.


KING - Doris, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2006, aged 93 years, beloved wife of the late Leslie, will be a sadly missed mum, grandmother and great-grandmother. Funeral service to take place at York Crematorium on Tuesday, February 7 at 2.30 p.m. Family flowers only please, but donations if desired may be left at the service for Merlin Medical Relief.

LYNE - On February 1, peace-fully, at Morris Grange Nursing Home. Edna, aged 87 years, of East Witton. A loving sister, aunt, great-aunt and partner of Syd. McGOWAN - Thomas Peacefully, after a long illness on January 26. Tommy, aged 73 years. Friends please meet for service in Bearpark Methodist Church on Thursday, February 2 at 9.00 a.m., followed by cremation at Durham. Friends welcome for refreshments in the Church Hall afterwards. Would friends please meet for service on Tuesday, February 7 at 3.30 p.m. at Durham Crematorium Chapel. All are welcome afterwards for refreshments at Dad's Old Pub, Metal Bridge.
