WHITBREAD - On April 4, peacefully but suddenly in hospital. Ella, aged 86 years, of Darlington, dearly beloved wife of the late Alf, much loved mum of John and David, dear mother-in-law of Hilary and Kathryn, adored nana of Thomas, also a special sister to Elsie. Funeral Friday, April 7. Would friends please meet for service in St. Columba's Church, Darlington at 11.00 a.m., prior to private cremation. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu if so desired to the Stain Glass Window Appeal (cheques payable to St. Columba's Church) c/o Seaton Leng and Son Ltd., Bondgate, Darlington DL3 7JR.


WIGGANS - June (nee Lowes), aged 66 years, of Oak Tree Avenue, Scotton, formerly of Ravensworth, died peacefully at home on April 3, after an illness borne with great courage and dignity. Much loved wife of Bill, loving mother of Mike, mother-in-law to Sue, darling grandma of Jake and Evan (her two little treasures), dearest daughter of Kathleen and the late Douglas, loving sister of Geoff and Jenny and loving auntie of Sarah, Andrew and John. Funeral service at St. Peter and St. Felix Church, Kirby Hill on Wednesday, April 12 at 12.00 noon, followed by private cremation. Friends please meet at the Church. At June's own request, please wear bright clothing. Family flowers only please, if desired donations may be given on the plate provided in the Church for Herriot Hospice Homecare.


WINTER - April 2, of Middleton-in-Teesdale. Rita, aged 87 years, beloved wife of the late Les, devoted mother of Ian and Ailsa, also a much loved and loving grandmother to Garry and the late Paul. Will friends please meet for service in St. Mary's Church, Middleton-in-Teesdale at 1.45 p.m. on Monday, April 10, followed by private cremation.


WOLPERT - On April 4, peacefully in hospital. June, aged 73 years, of Darlington, dearly beloved wife of the late Derek, loving sister of Doreen and Edna and a dear sister-in-law of Ken. Funeral Wednesday, April 12. Would friends please meet for service in the West Cemetery Chapel, Darlington at 10.30 a.m., prior to interment. Flowers may be sent c/o Seaton Leng and Son Ltd., Bondgate, Darlington DL3 7JR.


WOOD - Violet, aged 89 years. Peacefully in hospital on April 3, of Moor Road, Melsonby. Beloved wife of the late Tom, much loved mother of Brian, Sandra and Graham, dear mother-in-law of Norma, David and Maureen, loving grannie and great-grannie and a dear sister of Betty, Bob and the late Harry and Fred. Funeral Tuesday April 11. Would friends please meet for service in Barton Methodist Chapel at 12.30 p.m. followed by cremation. WOODHOUSE - Elizabeth Anne (Betty), aged 79 years, formerly of Priory Villas, Richmond, died peacefully in her sleep at Benkhill Lodge, Bedale on March 29 after a long illness. Dearly loved wife of Bill, much loved mum to Jill and son-in-law Bill, devoted and loving granny to David (and Cara), Wendy (and Dave). Funeral service at Richmond Methodist Church on Wednesday, April 5 at 2.00 p.m., followed by private cremation. Friends please meet at the Church. Family flowers only please, if desired, donations may be given on the plate provided in the Church for the British Heart Foundation and Richmond Methodist Church Funds.

Beloved husband of Barbara, dearly loved dad of Michael and Julie, dear father-in-law of Carli and Steve and devoted grandad of Sam and Lynda, Daniel, Thomas, Michaela, Laura, Zoe and Bethany. BAILEY - (Newton Hall) Peacefully on March 26, aged 69 years. Patricia (Pat), the devoted wife of Derek, much loved mum of Wayne, Craig and Phil, a dear mother-in-law and also a loving grandma. Pat will be sadly missed by all her loving family and friends. Friends please meet at Durham Crematorium on Monday April 3, at 1.00 p.m. for service prior to cremation.

BRANSBY - Joan Way (nee Cook, formerly Ritchie), peacefully at home on March 26. Joan, aged 81 years, dearly beloved wife of the late Christopher (Kit), much loved mother of Christine and Christopher. Joan will also be sadly missed by all the family and friends. Service to take place in St. Andrew's Church, Ingleby Greenhow on Monday, April 3 at 12.45 p.m., followed by cremation in the Chapel of St. Hilda, Teesside Crematorium at 1.45 p.m. Will friends please meet at the Church. CHAFFIN - Mickie, died peacefully in her sleep on the morning of her 75th Birthday, March 20, 2006. A sudden and great loss to Christine's family and to Sharon's family. Mickie is deeply missed. CHEEK - Sherburn Village, (formerly of Langley Park). Peacefully in hospital on March 26, aged 86 years. James (Jim), a devoted husband of Jenny, a much loved dad of Kelvin and John, a dear father-in-law of Jacqui and Ann, also loving grandad of Gary, Jason and Stevie. Jim will be sadly missed by all his loving family and friends. Friends please meet at Durham Crematorium on Friday March 31 at 9.30 a.m. for service prior to cremation.
