Will friends please meet for service in Durham Crematorium at 12.00 noon on Thursday, June 29.


RHODES - May, aged 83 years, of Danesmoor Crescent, Darlington. Beloved wife of Denis, dearly loved mother of Martin and Lindsey and a loving gran of Simon, Timothy and Michael. Died on June 21, peacefully, after a long illness. Funeral Thursday, June 29. Would friends please meet for service in Elm Ridge Methodist Church at 12.30 p.m., followed by private interment. David Adamson, aged 88 years, beloved husband of the late Lydia, devoted dad of Keith, John and Neil, a dear father-in-law, also a much loved and loving grandad, great-grandad and great-great-grandad. Cortege to leave his son John's residence in Fir Tree at 1.35 p.m. tomorrow Thursday, June 29, for service in St. Mary's Church, Howden-le-Wear at 1.45 p.m., followed by interment in Howden-le-Wear Cemetery. Will friends please meet at church. By his request, no flowers. Any donations may be made to the St. John's Ambulance.

Caroline Emma, aged 92 years, beloved wife of the late John William, greatly loved mother of Keith and Kay, dear mother-in-law of Pam and Tom, a much loved grandmother of Kevin and Veronica, David and Gillian, Paul and Jane, Samantha and Fatorma and a loving great-grandmother to her eight great-grandchildren. Friends please meet for service in the Murray Independent Methodist Church on Tuesday, July 4 at 2.30 p.m., followed by cremation at Durham. Friends welcome for refreshments at The Orchards afterwards. Donations in lieu of flowers for Haswell and District Mencap may be given after the service. Dearly loved and sadly missed by all her family.


VASEY - June 25, unexpectedly, in James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, four weeks and three days before his 91st Birthday. Frederick Sylvester, of Billingham (formerly of Shildon), devoted husband of the late Doris (nee Brass), dear dad of Pamela and Christine, father-in-law of Les and Robert and a much loved grandad and great-grandad. In accordance with his wishes his body has been transported in a coffin made by himself to the University of Newcastle for donation to medical science. There will therefore be no funeral for this remarkable man. "Je suis seul ce soir mais j'attendrai."
VASEY - We will miss your quirky habits and the mints you gave in quarters. We will never forget you Grandad. From your five loving granddaughters Claire, Vicky, Elisabeth, Catherine and Sarah "with puckered lips xxxxx"
VASEY - Wooly hat on head in your big red chair, is how we remember our great-grandad resting there. Love from Ashley, Rebecca, Jessica and Ethan.
