Peter Athelstan, aged 70 years, much loved and sadly missed by his mother, sister and brothers and by dear friend Derek. Funeral service to be held at St. Andrew's Church, Grinton on Wednesday, July 5 at 11.30 a.m., followed by private cremation. No flowers at his own request.

Friends please meet for service at Durham Crematorium on Wednesday July 5, at 11.00 a.m. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu if desired to, Cancer Research U.K. c/o, Stuart Wright Funeral Service, Gilesgate, Durham.


CHARLTON - Leonard Suddenly in hospital on June 23, after a long illness. Ben, aged 78 years, of Brotton. Dearly loved husband of Margaret, much loved dad of Beverley, Keith, Gillian, Vicki and Neil, dear father-in-law to Pete and Anne-Marie, loving grandad and devoted great-grandad. Funeral service and cremation to take place on Thursday June 29, in The Chapel of St. Bede. Teesside Crematorium at 2.00 p.m. Friends please meet at crematorium. No flowers by family request. Donations in lieu if so desired to, Cancer Research U.K.


CROFT - Lt. David Francis RN., Operations Officer HMS Enterprise, formerly of Thirsk and Richmond, died tragically on June 9, aged 30 years, beloved son of Eric and Barbara, dear brother of Joanne, loving uncle of Rebecca and a dear grandson. Funeral arrangements to follow later.


CURL - Sheila (nee Alderson). Died peacefully at home on June 23. Dearest wife of Brian, mam of Ashley, Andrew and Janet, also mother-in-law and nana, a dear sister of Joyce, Joan and Olive, also sister-in-law and auntie. Will be very sadly missed.


CURRAH - June 25, of East Croft, Stanhope. Carol Ann (nee Hodgson), aged 62 years, dearly loved wife of Clifford, loving mother of David and Brian and a dear mother-in-law and grandma. Cremation service private, to be followed by a Memorial Service in Stanhope Methodist Chapel on Thursday, June 29 at 12.45 p.m. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu to Cancer Charities, plate in chapel.


DAVIES - On June 22, in hospital, of Wylam Street, Bowburn and formerly of Sherburn Village. Dickie, aged 58 years, loving dad of Karen and Christopher and partner to Elizabeth. Friends please meet for service in Durham Crematorium on Thursday, June 29 at 11.00 a.m. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to The Foundation for Liver Research, c/o Stuart Wright Funeral Service, Gilesgate, Durham.


DENT - June 23, peacefully at Shafto House. Minnie, aged 87 years, of Newton Aycliffe, dear wife of the late Syd Dent, loving mother of Dorothy, dear mother-in-law of Claude, much loved grandma of Kim and Michelle and great-grandma of Michael and Samuel. Funeral service to take place on Thursday, June 29 at St. Clare's Church at 11.00 a.m., prior to interment in Stephenson Way Cemetery. Friends invited, please meet at the church.


DUNN - June 25, peacefully in hospital, of Oban Court, Darlington. Ethel Kathleen, aged 79 years, beloved wife of the late George William, dearly loved mother of Leslie, Colin and Lynda, also a much loved mother-in-law, grandma, great-grandma and a dear sister of Joan and Alice. Funeral Tuesday, July 4. Friends please meet for service in St. Andrew's Church, Haughton at 2.00 p.m., followed by cremation.


DZELME - June 25 (peacefully, in hospital). Peter, aged 85 years, of Shildon, a dearly loved husband of Elizabeth, also a loving dad. Funeral Monday, July 3. Would friends please meet 11.00 a.m. for service at Durham Crematorium. R.I.P


EARWAKER - June 13 (peacefully after a short illness). Kath, aged 92 years, beloved wife of the late Jim, a much missed mam of George, Beryl and mother-in-law to Betty and Eleanor also a dear grandma and great-grandma. Would friends please meet for service at Durham Crematorium on Monday, July 3 at 10.00 a.m.


FERNANDES - Rosa Pinto (Rosita), aged 74 years, of Darlington, formerly of Brompton-on-Swale, died peacefully in hospital on June 21. Beloved wife of the late John, a much loved mum, dear mother-in-law and loving grandma. Funeral service at St. Joseph and St. Francis Xavier R.C. Church, Richmond on Thursday, June 29 at 11.00 a.m., followed by interment in the cemetery. Friends please meet at the church. Rest in Peace


FOULGER - June 27 (in hospital), of Riverside View Care Home, Darlington, formerly of Gilpin Court and Greathead Crescent, Newton Aycliffe. Marjorie, aged 87 years, devoted wife of the late Norman, treasured mum/gran of Brenda, David and Jill and their families. Funeral service to take place at St. Andrew's Church, Aycliffe Village on Thursday at 1.45 p.m., followed by cremation at Darlington Crema torium. "Happily with Norman again as was her wish"


FOX - June 25, formerly of Woodhouse Lane, Bishop Auckland. Lilian, aged 86 years, beloved wife of the late Frederick Charles, devoted mother of Hazel and Frederick, a dear mother-in-law, also a much loved grandmother and great-grandmother. Cortege to leave her daughter's residence at 11.00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5 for service in Durham Crematorium at 11.30 a.m. Will friends please meet at the crematorium. Family flowers only. Donations may be left at the crematorium or with the family for the Residents' Fund at Langholme Home, Bishop Auckland.


GIBSON - June 24 (suddenly), of The Causeway, Wolsingham. Vera (nee Ingram, formerly Swinbank), aged 88 years, dearly loved mother of Ann, John and Robert and a dear mother-in-law and grandmother. Will friends please meet for service in Durham Crematorium on Friday, June 30 at 10.30 a.m. No flowers by request.


GRAHAM - (nee Thompson) Peacefully at home, following a short illness, on June 26. Brenda, aged 67 years, of Redworth Road, Shildon, devoted wife of Fred, dearly loved mother of Nicola, mother-in-law to Paul, also very dear grandmother of Emily. Will friends please meet for service in St. John's Church, Shildon at 12.00 noon on Friday, June 30, followed by cremation in Durham Crematorium at 1.00 p.m. Family flowers only. Donations may, if desired, be given for the North of England Cancer Research.


GRAY - June 25 (peacefully, in hospital), of Bedford Street, Darlington. Toni (formerly stewardess of Cummins and St. Augustine's Social Clubs, aged 80 years. Dearly loved wife of Albert, much loved mam of Edwin, Robin, Geoff and Peter, a loving mother-in-law, nana and great-grandma. Funeral Monday July 3. Friends please meet for service in St. Columbus Church, Park Crescent at 9.00 a.m. followed by cremation at Darlington Crematorium.


GREGG - Winnie (nee Knighton), formerly of Witton Park, died June 29, aged 72 years. Beloved wife of the late Ronnie, much loved mam of Margaret, Jennie and June, cherished mother-in-law to Roderick, Roy and Paul, a devoted nana to Caroline, Gary, Jacqueline and Jonathon, adored great-nana to Joshua and Emily, loving sister to Alan and Ronnie and the late John, Charlie and Butch, also loving sister-in-law and aunt. Will friends please meet for service in St. Paul's Church, Witton Park on Wednesday, July 5 at 10.15 a.m., followed by interment in Witton Park Cemetery. Cortege will leave her daughter's residence. After this service all are welcome to refreshment in Witton Park Community Centre. Any cards or flowers may be sent care of Gibson Funeral Services, Cockton Hill Road, Bishop Auckland. We were blessed with a wonderful mam and dad who were married for life, parted for a while and now they are re-united. God be with you till we meet again.
