LEWIS - Jeanne Jeanne, aged 83 years, of Northallerton, died peacefully in hospital on Monday, July 10 after a short illness, a loving and dearly loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. Her courage and sense of humour in dealing with her disabilities over the last seven years touched us all. Funeral service for family and close friends at Darlington Crematorium on Monday July 17 at 1.45 p.m. Family flowers only please, but donations may be made to the charity "Children with Leukemia". Thanks to the staff at the Friarage Hospital and especially to the District Nurses who looked after her so well.


LIGHTFOOT - July 10 (peacefully, at home), of Lambton Court, Peterlee. William (Bill), aged 78 years. Devoted husband of June, beloved dad of Judith, a sadly missed father-in-law of Alan, also a treasured grandad of Andrew and Richard. Would friends please meet for service and cremation at Durham Crematorium on Friday July 14, at 2.00 p.m. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers to, MacMillan Nurses Fund, plate provided at the crematorium.


LINTERN - July 7, of Aged Miners Homes, Willington. Hilda, beloved wife of the late Fred, loving daughter of Winnifred and the late Arthur Ashurst, much loved sister, sister-in-law and dearly loved aunty and great-aunt. Forever in our thoughts.

LITTLE - July 3, of Sunnybrow. Alice (nee Cox), aged 70 years, beloved mother of Billy, Steven, John and Graham, dear mother-in-law to Jackie, also a much loved and loving nana and great-gran. By her own instructions, a private family service will be held. Any donations in memory of Alice may be made to the P.D.S.A.


LITTLEWOOD - July 7 (peacefully, at home with his loving family), of Spennymoor. Alf, aged 75 years, darling husband of Connie, devoted dad of Sandra and Billy, Janice and Andrew, a loving granda of Mark, Scott and Carl, also a dear friend and neighbour to many. Would friends please meet at St. Paul's Church, Spennymoor on Thursday at 10.40 a.m. for a service, followed by committal at Durham Crematorium. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, may be left on the plate provided in the Church to be distributed to the appropriate charities.


MAKEPEACE - On July 7, peacefully at Greenwell House, Bedale, late of Thornborough Hall Gardens, Leyburn. Patricia Muriel, aged 93 years, a much loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Funeral service and committal at St. Matthew's Church, Leyburn on Friday, July 14 at 1.00 p.m. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to be shared between Church Funds and The Children's Society (plate in church). Friends please meet at the church.


MASON - July 10 (peacefully, in Church View Nursing Home), formerly of Coundon Grange. Florence Minnie, aged 99 years. Beloved wife of the late John, loving mother of Alan and Valerie, a dear mother-in-law of Joan and George, also a devoted nana and great-nana. Would friends please meet for service and cremation at Durham Crematorium on Monday July 17, at 12.00 noon.


McCUTCHEON - July 11, at peace, in hospital. Margaret (nee Thwaites), of Shildon, dearly loved wife of Denis, a much loved and loving mam and grandma. Will friends please meet for service in Shildon Methodist Church at 2.15 p.m. on Monday, July 17, followed by cremation at Darlington. R.I.P.

Eva May, aged 82 years, beloved wife of Ronnie, devoted mam of Yvonne, Steven, Gary, Joan, also the late Dawn and Ronnie, a dear mother-in-law, much loved and loving nana and great-nana, also a dear sister, sister-in-law and aunt. Will friends please meet for service in St. Helen's Church at 11.30 a.m. on Monday, July 17, followed by cremation at Durham. After this service all are welcome for refreshment in The Wheatsheaf.


MEAD - Barbara Peacefully, in hospital on July 8, aged 73 years of Eaglescliffe. Beloved wife of Bernard, dearly loved mother of Bev and Niki, loving grandmother of Luke, Dominic and Anna. Will be sadly missed. Funeral service to be held in St. Bede's Chapel Teesside Crematorium on Tuesday July 18, at 11.00 a.m. Friends please meet at the crematorium. Family flowers only. Beloved husband of the late Joan, much loved father of David, dear father-in-law to Chris, loving grandad of David and Elizabeth, dearest brother to Angus, brother-in-law to May and a dear uncle. Funeral service at St. Mary's Church, Richmond on Wednesday, July 19 at 1.30 p.m., followed by cremation at Darlington. Friends please meet at the church. Loving mother of Ben, Lauren and the late Rebecca and a dear sister of Cynthia, Dave, Jane and Edward. Cortege leaving residence on Monday, July 17 at 1.50 p.m. for a service in St James' Church, Coundon at 2.00 p.m., followed by cremation at Durham. Friends please meet at the Church. No flowers please, by request. Donations if desired can be left with a family member to go to the British Heart Found-ation.
