SMITH - (nee Reece) October 10, peacefully in hospital. Sheila, late of Chilton, aged 73 years, a dearly loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. At her own request, cremation took place on October 16 under closed ceremony. Sheila will be sadly missed by all.

SMITH - Gertrude Suddenly on October 11. Frankie, aged 90 years, beloved wife of the late Jack, former proprietors of the Station Hotel, Billingham until 1977. Will be sadly missed by son Barry, daughter-in-law Ann, grandsons Colin, Brett and his wife Kelly, great-grandchildren Debbie, Scott, Jackson and Ruby. Funeral service to take place on Thursday, October 18 at St. Edmund's Church, Sedgefield at 12.30 p.m., prior to burial at Billingham Cemetery at 1.30 p.m. All family and friends welcome.

Margaret (Peggy, nee Forbes), aged 80 years, devoted wife of the late Jack, beloved sister to Dorothy and the late Eva, treasured aunty of Gordon, Michael, Ann and Sheila, also a very special Aunt Peggy of Laura. Will friends please meet for service in Darlington Crematorium at 1.45 p.m. on Friday, October 19. Family flowers only. Donations may be given at the crematorium for the Butterwick Hospice.

STEPHENSON - Fred M.B.E., aged 87 years, formerly of Woolley Hill, Woodland and Raby Moor, Staindrop, died peacefully at Beaconsfield Court Nursing Home, Barnard Castle on October 9, after a long illness bravely borne. Beloved husband of the late Gladys (nee Sayer), much loved dad of Anthony and Paul, a dear father-in-law and brother-in-law and a loving grandad and great-grandad. Funeral service at Woodland Methodist Chapel on Wednesday, October 17 at 1.30 p.m., followed by private cremation. Friends please meet at the chapel. No flowers by request, donations if desired, may be given on the plate provided in the chapel for Beaconsfield Court Recreational Transport Fund.

STONEHOUSE - October 14 (peacefully in hospital), of Pickhill, Thirsk. Jean, aged 84 years, beloved wife of the late William (Tim), a loving mother of Tim and Alison, a dear gran and mother-in-law. THOMPSON - Mary, of Barnard Castle (formerly of Butter-knowle), died peacefully in the Beaconsfield on Saturday, October 13, 2007, dear sister of the late Robson and the late Ethel and Dorothy. Much loved aunty to Brenda and a great-aunty to Helen, Philip and John, also great-great-aunty to Rachel. She will be sadly missed by everyone. Would friends please meet for funeral service at Barnard Castle Methodist Church on Friday, October 19 at 12.15 p.m., followed by cremation at Darlington. Dearly loved husband of the late Nancie and loving father of Jacqueline and Peter, also a much loved grandad of Gail, Helen, Geoff and Paul and great-grandad of Eleanor, William and Thomas. WALTON - Dorothy, aged 92 years, of Jubilee Road, Shildon. It is with great sadness that the family of Dora announce her death on October 16, a much loved wife of the late Tommy, beloved mother of Pat, devoted grandma of David, Beverley, Gillian and Craig, also a great-grandmother to Christopher, Liam, Joshua and Kieron.
