Dot, aged 85 years, beloved wife of the late John, a much missed mam of John, Jean and Norman, mother-in-law of Elaine, Ian and Jackie, also a loving grandma to Andrea, Gillian, Shelley and Christopher and great-grandma to Megan Tiegan and Emily. Would friends please meet for service at St. Catherine's Church, Fishburn on Friday, January 12 at 2.00 p.m., followed by cremation at Durham Crematorium. SCURR - Donald, aged 74 years, originally from Darling-ton, died suddenly on December 30. A much loved husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be deeply missed. Will friends please meet for service in St. John's Church, Shildon at 10.20 a.m. on Wednesday January 17, followed by cremation at Darlington. God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put his arms around you and whispered 'Come to me'. With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away. And though we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

TAULBUT - Lorraine (Lori, nee Singlewood), passed away peacefully in the University Hospital of Durham, on January 8, after a long illness. Lori will be sadly missed by her family, husband Tony, son Asa, brother Tony and sister Ann, relatives, friends and the countless number of lives that she touched throughout her years. The family would like to sincerely thank everyone who has loved and supported Lori during her fight against cancer. All friends are welcome to celebrate her life at Carrville Methodist Church at 1.30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, followed by an interment in Willington Cemetery. Danny, aged 60 years, husband of Shirley, beloved dad of Andrew and Louise, a dear father-in-law, much loved granda, also a dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle and good friend. Will friends please meet for service in Howden-le-Wear Methodist Chapel at 12.30 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, followed by interment in Howden-le-Wear Cemetery. BALLAM - February 25, died peacefully in hospital. Roy, aged 86 years, of Front Street, Sowerby, Thirsk, a dearly loved husband of Clare and loving dad to Richard. Served in the R.A.F. during World War II and survived four years as a Japanese Prisoner of War, before becoming a Director at Wormald's and Walker's Mill, Thornhill Lees, Dewsbury and later Landlord of the Old Three Tuns in Thirsk. Worked with Clare for many years as a volunteer in successfully creating specialist provision for Autism and supporting people with learning disabilities within Thirsk and across Yorkshire. Funeral Tuesday, March 6, 2007. Would friends please meet at 11.00 a.m. for the service at St. Oswald's Church, Sowerby. Donations in lieu of flowers may be given at the service in support of Green Gables, Thirsk.
