Will friends please meet for service in St. Thomas' R.C. Church, Shildon at 12.30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, followed by cremation at Durham. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu may be given for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.


WALKER - January 21, after a long illness, died at The Hawthorns Nursing Home. John Guy (Jack), aged 71 years of Wingate dearly loved husband of June, a loving father of Ann and John, a dear father-in-law of John and Janet also a devoted granda of Alex, Mark and Amy. Funeral service on Wednesday, January 30 at Holy Trinity Church, Wingate 12.00 noon, prior to cremation at Durham Crema-torium. Family flowers only. Donations, if so desired, to Macmillan Nurses c/o Speckmans Funeral Service, 25 Front Street, Wingate.

James (Jim) J.P., aged 75 years, beloved husband of Mavis much loved father of Ashley and Alison, a dearly loved father-in-law of Dawn and loving grandpa of Christopher, Kate, Charlie and Francesca. Funeral Tuesday January 29. Friends please meet for service in St Edmund's Church, Sedgefield at 1.30 p.m., followed by cremation. No flowers please. Donations if desired may be given for St Edmund's Church Funds.


WHITE - January 19, of Crook. Margaret, aged 91 years, beloved wife of the late Jim, devoted mam of Chris, dear mother-in-law to the late Doreen, much loved gran of David and Clare, John and Andrea, loving gran gran to James and Daniel, also a very good friend of Dorothy. Will friends please meet for service in Crook St. Andrew's United Methodist Church at 1.00 p.m. on Monday, January 28, followed by cremation at Durham. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu may be left in church for Church Funds.


WHITFIELD - Tony of Northallerton, died suddenly at home on January 18, 2008. Aged 76 years. A loving husband of the late Pauline Elizabeth and a very dear father of Lynne and Tracey, a much loved grandad of Christopher, Sarah, Oliver and Rachael. Funeral service will be held at Romanby Meth-odist Chapel on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 1.00 p.m. followed by a family cremation at Darlington. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu to The Alzheimers Society.


WILD - Ernest (Ernie) Peacefully at Brierton Lodge Nursing Home on January 17. Ernie, aged 92 years. Formerly of Trimdon. Dearest brother of Dennis and the late Sam, brother-in-law of Chrissie and a much loved uncle of Joy, Rita, Lynne and their families. Service and cremation to take place on Thursday January 24, at 11.40 a.m. in Stranton Grange Crematorium, Hartlepool All are welcome, please meet at the crematorium


WILKS - January 18. James Douglas, aged 88 years, formerly garage proprietor of Howden-le-Wear. Devoted husband of the late Emily, beloved father of Margaret, Philip and Dorothy, a dear father-in-law, much loved and loving grandfather and great-grandfather, also a dear brother, brother-in-law and uncle. Will friends please meet for service in St. Philip and St. James' Church, Witton-le-Wear at 11.30 a.m. on Friday, January 25, followed by cremation at Durham. By his own request, family flowers only. Donations in lieu may be sent to the Air Ambulance, British Legion or Macmillan Nurses or given care of the family.


WINTER - January 23, of Eldon Lane. Ethel (nee Bowman), aged 83 years, beloved wife of the late Stan, devoted mam of David and Janice, a dear mother-in-law, much loved and loving gran, dear sister of May, also a sister-in-law and aunt. Will friends please meet for service in Durham Crematorium at 10.30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 29. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu may be left at the crematorium for the R.A.F. Benevolent Fund or the Air Ambulance.


ALDERSON - January 10, (peacefully, in hospital, after a short illness). Doreen, (nee Brown), aged 81 years. Of Aged Miners Homes, Shildon. Much loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Friends please meet for funeral service at St. Mark's Church, Eldon on Tuesday January 22, at 12.00 noon, to be followed by cremation at Durham at 1.00 p.m.


ALLEN - January 14, died peacefully at Horrabank House Farm, Askrigg, formerly of Mill Fosse, Hawes. Clifford, aged 58 years, a dearly loved brother of John, Maurice, Ronnie, Eric and half brother of Raymond and a dear uncle. Funeral service at Hawes Methodist Chapel Thursday, January 17 at 12.00 noon. Family flowers only. Donations if desired to be shared between Herriot Hospice, Marie Curie Nurses, Macmillan Nurses and Windsor Care. Friends please meet at the Chapel.


ALLINSON - January 11, peacefully at home, of Darlington. Ted, aged 68 years, loving son of Mary and the late Ted, also a much loved dad, brother, grandad and great-grandad. Funeral Monday January 21. Would friends please meet at 10.45 a.m. for service at Darlington Crema-torium.


BALL - January 12, in hospital, of Nevilledale Terrace, Durham. Peter, aged 72 years, dearly beloved husband of Rita and a much loved brother, brother-in-law and uncle. Would friends please meet for service in St. John's Church, Meadowfield on Monday, January 21 at 2.15 p.m. Cremation to follow at Durham Crematorium. Family flowers only please but donations in lieu may be given for Cancer Research.


BAXTER - John Robert (Roy), aged 98 years, formerly of Wheatley Hill, died peacefully in hospital on January 16. Re-united with Betty, a loving and much loved dad, grandad and great-grandad. Service and cremation to take place on Thursday, January 24 at St Bede's Chapel, Teesside Crematorium at 11.00 a.m. No flowers by request. Donations in lieu of flowers if so desired to Haswell and District Mencap. Donation box available at the Crema-torium.


BELL - Eva, aged 73 years, of Hamsterley peacefully in hospital on January 14. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Bell much loved mam of Maureen and Adrian, dear mother-in-law of Dave and Jennifer and treasured grandma to Jasmine, Evie-Mae and Benjamin. Funeral service at Hamsterley Methodist Chapel on Friday, January 18 at 11.30 a.m., followed by private burial. Family flowers only please. BINDOFF - Reverend Stan (Parish Priest of Castleford Team Ministry) died peacefully in hospital on January 15, 2008, aged 53 years. A loving father and brother, a dear son, much loved uncle, also a good friend to many people. Father Stan will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He will be received into Castleford Parish Church on Wednesday, January 23 at 5.00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, January 24 at 11.00 a.m., prior to interment in Thirsk Cemetery at 2.30 p.m. Family flowers only please. Loving wife of the late Allan, much loved mum of Nigel, in-law of Jean, a loving sister, grandma and great-grandma.
