Alexander (Jock), aged 77 years, beloved husband of the late Theresa, devoted dad of Graham and Julie, a dear father-in-law, much loved and loving grandad of Anna, Sarah and Grace, also a dear brother, uncle and good friend. Will friends please meet for Requiem Mass in St. Mary's R.C. Church, Bishop Auckland at 10.00 a.m., on Saturday, February 2, followed by interment in Bishop Auckland Town Cemetery. R.I.P.


KELL - January 23 (suddenly, but peacefully), of Clifton Road, Darlington. Pamela Mary, aged 83 years, much loved wife of Raymond, also a loving mam to Malcolm. Funeral took place Wednesday January 30.


KENDALL - On January 28 (peacefully in hospital), formerly of Healaugh and Reeth. Betty, aged 84 years, dearly loved wife of the late James. Funeral service to be held at St. Andrew's Church, Grinton on Monday, February 4 at 12.00 noon, followed by interment at Grinton Cemetery. Family flowers only please, however donations in memory of Betty, if so desired, may be given at the service for Richmond House Residents' Fund and St. Andrew's Church. Will friends please meet at the church and accept this intimation.


KERSHAW - Suddenly on January 24, of The Bungalows, Esh Winning. Stephen (Steph) Clifford, aged 47 years, much loved daddy to Jack and Katie, beloved son of the late Walter and Jean and a dear brother, brother-in-law and uncle. Friends please meet for service and cremation at Durham Crematorium on Friday, February 1 at 1.30 p.m. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu may be given after the service for the Diabetic Association. Friends welcome for refreshments at The Dreadnought afterwards.


LAMB - June (nee Bell), aged 71 years, of High Etherley (formerly of Evenwood), peacefully in hospital on January 28. Dearly loved wife of Tot, much loved mam of Tracey and Richard, dear mother-in-law of Michelle and loving grandmother of Jamie and Holly. Funeral service in St. Paul's Church Evenwood on Monday, February 4 at 10.15 a.m., followed by private cremation. Friends please meet at the Church.


LISTER - On January 24, suddenly at home, of Trimdon Grange. James, aged 67 years, devoted husband of Pat, a much loved father of Kathy and Mark, Jim and Sarah, devoted grandad of Niall and a dear brother, brother-in-law and uncle. Funeral service to be held at Rose Street Methodist Church, Trimdon Grange Wednesday, January 30 at 10.30 a.m., followed by interment at Trimdon Grange Cemetery.


LYLE - January 25, of Crook. Nellie, beloved wife of Douglas, also a dear sister, sister-in-law, aunt and a good friend. Will friends please meet for service in Crook St. Andrew's United Methodist Church (Dawson Street) at 10.00 a.m. on Thursday, January 31, followed by cremation at Durham. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu may be left in church for West Lodge Home Residents' Fund.


MAHON - On Sunday, January 27, suddenly but peacefully in the Memorial Hospital, Darlington after a short illness. Eileen, aged 69 years, dearly beloved wife of Ron and much loved mother of Phil and Tracey. A special grandmother to Jessica and Megan and dearly missed by son-in-law Paul and daughter-in-law Lisa. Relatives and friends please meet for funeral service at St Patrick's R.C. Church, Fairfield, Stockton on Tuesday, February 5 at 10.30 a.m. followed by interment at Durham Road Cemetery, Stockton on Tees. Flowers will be welcomed and may be sent to Co-operative Funeralcare, 99-109 Norton Road, Stockton, TS18 2BG. Tel. 01642 674377. Any donations in lieu of flowers, if so desired, to The British Heart Foundation. Donation box will be available at church.


MASON - January 24, of Bishop Auckland. Charles (Charlie), aged 79 years, dearly beloved husband of the late Florence, much loved dad of Carol and Janet, a dear father-in-law, granda, great-granda, brother, brother-in-law and uncle. Will friends please meet for service in St. Andrew's Church at 9.15 a.m. on Friday, February 1, followed by cremation at Darlington. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu may be given to the Alzheimer's Society.


MATTHEWS - January 31, of Newton Aycliffe, after a long illness borne with great courage and humour. Matt, aged 77 years, dearly loved partner of Margaret, husband of the late Ann, much loved dad of Christine and Diane, a dear grandad of Susan, Vicky, Trudi, Karen, Carrera and Maddison, great-grandad of Beth and Isla, father-in-law of Eric and Barry and all his extended family. Will friends please meet at Darlington Crematorium at 10.45 a.m. on Thursday, February 7 in celebration of Matt's life. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu, in Matt's memory, can be left for the MARA Unit and Leukaemia Care, a plate is provided at the crematorium. No black to be worn by Matt's request.


METCALFE - January 25, died peacefully at Rosedale Nursing Home, formerly of Little Ings, Gayle Ada, aged 89 years, beloved wife of the late Harry, dearly loved mother of Elizabeth, Sheila, John, Harold and the late Irene and a much loved grandma and great-grandma. Funeral service at Gayle Chapel Monday, February 4 at 12.00 noon. Family flowers only. Donations if desired for Gayle Chapel and Rosedale Care Home.


METCALFE - January 25, of 7 Dales View, Little Ings. George Alan (Tim), aged 65 years, a much loved brother of Mary, Enid, Stan and the late James and a very dear uncle. Funeral service at Hawes Church Thursday, January 31 at 1.00 p.m. Family flowers only. Donations if desired for the R.N.I.B.


MITCHELL - February 1, of Bishop Auckland. Leonard (Lenny), aged 70 years, dearly beloved husband of Val, much loved dad of Stephen, father-in-law of Susan, brother of Raymond, Keith, Alan and the late Ronnie, also a dear brother-in-law and uncle. Will friends please meet for service in Durham Crematorium at 1.00 p.m. on Thursday, February 7. After the service all are welcome to the Bishop Auckland Golf Club for refreshment.


MOORE - On January 31, of Pity Me (formerly of Newton Aycliffe). Jean, dearly loved wife of Ted, a much loved mam of Keith and Karen, mother-in-law of Claire and Peter and a devoted nan of all her grandchildren. Would friends please meet for service and cremation at Durham Crematorium on Wednesday, February 6 at 11.30 a.m. Floral tributes, if desired, may be sent to N. Alderson Funeral Directors, Flass Terrace, Ushaw Moor, Durham.


MORRISON - (Haydon Bridge) January 26, peacefully, formerly of Warkworth. Margaret, wife of the late Ron. Will be missed by all family and friends. Service in St Peter's Church, Bishopton, Tuesday, February 5 at 10.15 a.m. prior to cremation at Darlington Crema-torium. Friends please meet at church. Family flowers only please. MYERS - January 28 (peacefully in hospital), of Edward Avenue, Bowburn. Theresa, aged 76 years, beloved wife of the late Joe, a much loved mother, nana and great-grandma. Friends please meet at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Coxhoe Monday, February 4 at 2.30 p.m., followed by private inter ment at Metal Bridge Cemetery. Bus provided, leaving Edward Avenue at 2.15 p.m.


NATTRASS - January 26, in Sunderland Hospital, of Eastlea, Sidefoot, Daddry Shield. John, aged 89 years, beloved husband of Minnie. Will friends please meet for service in All Saints' Church, Eastgate on Friday, February 1 at 1.00 p.m., followed by interment. No flowers by request. Donations in lieu, if desired, to the Renal Department, Bishop Auckland Hospital.


PALLISTER - January 25, peacefully in hospital, of Edge Court, Gilesgate. Sarah Jane, aged 87 years, a loving wife of the late Jim, much loved mother of June, Jimmy, Ann, Eddy, David, Marion, Mick, John and Billy, also a loving grandma and great-grandma. Will be sadly missed by all the family. Friends please meet for service at St. Giles' Church, Gilesgate on Thursday, January 31 at 2.00 p.m., prior to interment in South Road Cemetery.


PARKER - Chester-le-Street January 29, peacefully in hospital. Robert (Bob), aged 83 years, beloved husband of the late Doreen, devoted dad of Janet and Barbara, father-in-law of Jim and a much loved grandad of Ruth and Jonathan. Will be sadly missed by all his family and many friends. Friends please meet for service at Durham Crematorium on Tuesday, February 5 at 3.00 p.m.


PHILLIPS - January 28 (suddenly), of Eastbourne Road, Darlington. James (Jim), much loved brother of Ernest and Ada, also a dearly loved brother-in-law and uncle. Funeral Friday, February 8. Would friends please meet 1.15 p.m. for service at Darlington Crematorium. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu to the Leukaemia Research Fund.


PRIESTLEY - Jean, of Great Lumley and formerly of Wingate, died January 22 at St. Cuthbert's Hospice. Only daughter of the late Joseph and Alice Priestley and a dearly loved sister of the late Ronnie and Malcolm. 32 years a Midwife, 22 years in Community Service in Easington and Durham. Friends please meet for a Service of Thanksgiving at Chester-le-Street Methodist Church on Thursday, January 31 at 12.15 p.m., following a cremation at Durham Crematorium. Small sprays of flowers only please. Donations, if so desired, to Cancer Research or Church Funds.


RANSON - (Woodhall Spa) January 23, in Lincoln Hospital, late of South Hetton and Spennymoor. John, husband of Doris (nee Smith) and beloved brother of Bill and brother-in-law to Ellen, uncle to Kevin, Colin and Stephen. Cremation at Boston, Lincolnshire on Wednesday, February 6 at 12.30 p.m.
