Would friends please meet for service at St. Oswald's Church, Durham Friday, December 21 at 2.00 p.m., followed by interment in South Road Cemetery.

LAIRD - December 17, (suddenly), of Hopelands Court, Heighington. Jean, aged 76 years. Much loved sister to Donald and David, also a dearly loved sister-in-law to Olwen and Sandra. Funeral Friday December 28. Would friends please meet 2.45 p.m. for service at Darlington Crematorium.

LAKE - Brian FRCPsych. in his 86th year. Formerly Consultant Psychotherapist St. James University Hospital, Leeds. Beloved husband of Dorothy and stepfather to Helen, Priscilla and Lesley. The funeral - Grinton Church, Swaledale, 11.30 a.m. Thursday, December 20. No flowers please, but if desired, donations for The Guntrip Trust may be sent c/o Simon Barningham, Manor Farm, Grinton, Richmond, North Yorkshire, DL11 6HL. Tel. (01748) 884327.

Hilda, aged 95 years, devoted wife of the late John (Jack), beloved mam of Chrissie, Vivien and the late John (Jackie), a sadly missed mother-in-law of Norman, also a treasured nanna of Ian, Vicky, Lee, Linda, Janet, Brenda, Geof and Jacqueline, also a loving great-nanna. Will friends please meet for service at St. Cuthbert's Church, North Road, Durham City on Thursday, December 27 at 10.30 a.m., prior to interment in churchyard.

LEWIS - December 17, peacefully at home in Bishop Auckland. Harry, aged 73 years, dearly beloved husband of the late Pearl, much loved dad of Mick, Brendan, Harry, Shaun and Pearl, a dear grandad, brother and uncle, also friend and partner of Kathleen. Will friends please meet for service in St. Wilfrid's R.C. Church, Bishop Auckland at 11.00 a.m. on Monday, December 24, followed by interment in Bishop Auckland Cemetery.

LIDDEMENT - December 14 (peacefully) of Ferryhill. Ruby Isabel, aged 83 years, beloved wife of the late George Richard, dearly loved mam of Peter and Jan, a much loved nana of Helen and Paul, great-nana to Ben and Auntie Ruby to many. Will friends please meet for service at All Saints' R.C. Church Ferryhill on Friday, December 21 at 10.30 a.m., followed by interment at Chilton Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome for refreshments at the Church Hall.

LLOYD - December 16, passed away peacefully in hospital after a long illness bravely borne, of Ferryhill. Hubert (Bert), aged 82 years, much loved husband of Marjorie, a cherished father of Janet and Linda and a dear father-in-law of Richard and Andrew, also a devoted grandad of Elizabeth, Andrew, Gareth and Craig. Would friends please meet for service at Durham Crematorium on Monday, December 24 at 1.30 p.m.

LOCAL - On December 15, suddenly in hospital. Muriel, aged 72 years, of Peterlee, loving wife of William, a dear mother of Andrew and Allyson, late leader of the W.R.V.S. of Peterlee and retired magistrate. Friends please meet for service at Durham Crematorium on Thursday, December 20 at 1.00 p.m. Family flowers only. Donations to Great North Air Ambulance, if desired.

LUKE - On December 12. John Arthur, aged 59 years, of Trimdon Colliery. Beloved son of the late George and Mary, very dear brother of George, Mary and Chris, also a dear uncle and great-uncle. Cortege to leave the residence Wednesday, December 19, 2.30 p.m. for service at Durham Crematorium at 3.00 p.m. Your pain has gone now, God Bless.

MACLEOD - Sean We had loads of brilliant times together. Those memories wouldn't be what they are without you. Always there for each other. Miss you so much. Love, Emma, Hayley, Amy, Becci, Amy, Kelly, Faye and Gemma. Sit on the banks and drink for hours.

MARSHALL - Harold, of Morton on Swale, died peacefully at home on December 15, 2007, aged 95 years. A loving husband of Joan, a dear father of Alan and Val, a dear grandad of Sam, George, Kate and David. Funeral service will be held at Darlington Crematorium on Thursday, December 20 at 10.15 a.m.

MAUGHAN - On December 18, of Hall Avenue, Ushaw Moor. Joyce (nee Johnson), aged 77 years, beloved wife of the late Raymond and a much loved mam, mother-in-law, grandma, great-grandma and sister. Friends please meet for service in St. Joseph's R.C. Church on Saturday, December 22 at 11.00 a.m., followed by interment in the churchyard. Friends welcome for refreshments in the Parish Centre afterwards. On whose soul sweet Jesus have mercy. R.I.P.

McDONALD - On December 17, suddenly at home in Canada. Elsie (nee Parkin), formerly of Bearpark, much loved sister of Mary, Emma, Jean, Anne, Moira, Dorothy, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews. Re-united with Mam, Dad, Tom and Betty. Will be sadly missed

Gladys Annie, aged 93 years, beloved wife of the late George Plews McKeown, dearly loved mother of Alan Melvyn McKeown, a much loved grandmother of Robert, Iain and Julie and great-grandmother of Stephanie, Jade, Thomas and Anna. Funeral Friday, December 28. Friends please meet for service at Darlington Crematorium at 2.15 p.m.

METCALFE - Linda, aged 65 years, of Catterick Village on December 8. Dearly loved wife of Hugh, much loved mam of Martin, Wendy, Wayne, Scott, Gemma and Sally and a devoted nana. Funeral service at St. Anne's Church, Catterick Village on Wednesday, December 19 at 12.00 noon, followed by cremation. Friends please meet at the Church.
