ALDER - January 3, of Wear View, Byers Green. Catherine, (nee Sherwood), aged 90 years. Beloved wife of the late Arthur, a dearly loved mam of Maurice and Barbara, a dear mother-in-law of Sheila and Bryan and a much loved nana and great-nana. Would friends please meet in Byers Green Methodist Chapel Wednesday for service at 2.30 p.m. followed by committal at Durham Crematorium.

ALDERSON - Cliff aged 81 years, unexpectedly on December 31, of Malvern Crescent, Darlington. Beloved husband of the late Nell, much loved dad of Jon, Janet and the late Stephen and a loving father-in-law, grandad and great grandad. Funeral Wednesday, January 9. Would friends please meet for service in St Mary's Church, Cockerton at 10.00 a.m., followed by cremation. BALFOUR - December 30, (in hospital), of Stack Garth, Brandon. Raymond, aged 63 years. Dearly beloved husband of Diane and a much loved father, father-in-law and grandad. Service and cremation Durham Crematorium on Tuesday, January 8, at 1.30 p.m. Friends please meet at the crematorium. Family flowers only please, but donations may be given for The Chemotherapy Day Unit, University Hospital of North Durham.

BELL - December 28, of Westmorland Close, Spennymoor. Ainer, aged 86 years, beloved wife of the late Jack, dearly loved mam of Thomas, also a much loved grandma of Andrea and Lee. Ainer will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all family and friends. Would friends please meet for service at Durham Crematorium Chapel on Tuesday, January 8 at 3.00 p.m. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu for the British Heart Foundation, a plate will be provided at the crematorium.

Beloved wife of the late Gordon, dear mother of Gordon (Don), Elizabeth and Dorothy and a much loved grandmother and great-grandmother. Winifred Mary, aged 89 years, dear wife of the late John George (Jack), loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to all the family. Friends please meet for service in St. Thomas' Church, Stanhope on Thursday, January 3 at 2.00 p.m., prior to interment in Cross Hill Cemetery, Stanhope.

BRADLEY - December 30, (peacefully, in hospital), of Sycamore Square, Shildon. Thomas William, (Tot), aged 75 years. Loving husband of Molly, dearly loved son of Susan, devoted dad of Peter, Susan and the late Terry and David, also a much loved granda and great-granda. Would friends please meet for service in St. John's Church, Shildon on Wednesday January 9, at 1.50 p.m. followed by cremation at Darlington Crematorium

CASTLE - Mary Elizabeth (Dolly), of Northallerton, died peacefully on December 28, 2007, aged 94 years, a loving wife of the late Jack, a dearly loved mother of Doreen, mother-in-law of Bert, nana to Lesley, Tim and wife Linda and great-grandma of Kaye, Rory, Jack and Maisie. Funeral service to be held at All Saints' Parish Church, Northallerton on Thursday, January 10, 2008 at 2.15 p.m. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu to Cancer Research.

CHAPMAN - John (Family Butcher) on December 29, peacefully after a short illness aged 73 years, of Blackhall, a much loved husband of Norma, a dearly loved dad of Anthony, Paul and Joanne, a dear father-in-law of Ann, Tracey and David also a devoted and loving grandad. CHISHOLM - Alexander Gordon M.B., Ch.B., D.P.M., F.R.C. Psych. Sandy, formerly a Consultant Child Psychiatrist at the University Hospital of North Tees, husband of Margaret and father of Fiona and the late David, died at home on Saturday December 22, 2007. In accordance with his wishes there will be a very private funeral, but please raise a glass to his memory and perhaps make a donation either to R.N.L.I. or an animal charity. Thank You

Beloved wife of Gary and devoted mother to David and Stephen, a treasured daughter of Maureen and the late Kenny, a dearest sister of Lee and sister-in-law to Julie, Andrew and Sarah, a much loved daughter-in-law of Allan and Ena, also a dear niece, aunt, cousin, friend and colleague. Cremation Friday January 11, at Darlington. Cortege leaving residence at 10.30 a.m. for a service in St. Andrew's Church, South Church at 10.45 a.m. Friends please meet at church.
