Carter
March 22, 2004
Funeral services for Steve Carter, 54, of Rye, were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2004, at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Byron Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Grove Cemetery. military honors were conducted by the VFW Post 8568 Honor Guard.
He was born August 16, 1949 in Palestine, the son of Charles Culberson Carter Jr. and Dorothy Emogene Richey Carter Jr., both of whom preceded him in death. He married Mona Lynn Carter on January 3, 1971 in Houston. He was a member of the Romayor VFW Post. He served in the Army during the Vietnam era, having attained the rank of SP5. He enlisted on June 20, 1969 in Houston and was discharged on November 13, 1971 at Fort Jackson,  South Carolina.
Mr. Carter died Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at his residence in Rye.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Mona Carter of Rye; daughter and son-in-law, April and Paul Gregory of Cleveland; sisters, Barbara Padgitt of Houston and Vera Rae Wilbanks of Pulaski, Tennessee; grandson and light of his life, Cameron Gregory of Cleveland; and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.
Pallbearers were Rusty Caufield Jr., Albert Crawford Jr., Brandon Coe, Robert Falcon, Ryan Claussen Sr. and Larry Anglin.

Goudeau
March 22, 2004
A mass of Christian burial was held Tuesday, March 9, 2004 for Martina Trahan Goudeau, 80, of Ames, at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Ames. Burial followed at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Raywood.
She was born November 24, 1923 in Liberty the daughter of Michael and Marie Caillie Trahan. She resided in the Ames area throughout her life. She was the owner and operator of Martina's Flowers and Gifts in Ames before retiring.
She was also a member of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of St. Peter Claver Court #33 and the Moon Glo Club. She was a graduate of Liberty Training School Class of 1941 and enjoyed ceramics, gardening, reading and dancing.
Mrs. Goudeau died Sunday, March 7, at Liberty-Dayton Community Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Marvin J. Goudeau Sr.; and brothers, James Trahan, Michael Trahan Jr. and Aaron Trahan.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, John Goudeau of Ames; sons, Malcolm Goudeau Sr. and wife, Debbie, of Ames, Milton Goudeau and wife, Penny, of Hardin; daughter-in-law, Alma Goudeau of Raywood; sisters, Theresa Mallett of Ames and Rita Bivens of California; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Hurtado
March 22, 2004
Funeral services for Frances Castillo Hurtado, 64, were held Monday, March 8, 2004, at Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Jeffries and Bro. Doug Loafman officiating. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery.
She was born October 22, 1939 in Carnes City, the daughter of Lucio and Antonia Ochoa Castillo.
Mrs. Hurtado died Friday, March 5, in Methodist Hospital in Houston. He was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Leonor Villa Franca.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Hurtado; daughter, Yolando Robledo of Livingston; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Norma Hurtado of Robstown, Larry Hurtado Jr. of Corpus Christi and Jerry and Rishana Hurtado of Corpus Christi; brother, Lucio Castillo of San Benito; sisters, Beatrice Ramirez of San Benito, Antonia Lopez of Los Fresnos and Aurora Moreno of Lozano; grandsons, Martin Robledo Jr. of Brownfield, David Hurtado Jr. of Robstown, Larry Hurtado III, Anthony Hurtado, Dylan Wade  Johnson and Alex Jerry Hurtado, all of Corpus Christi; and granddaughters, Lori Ann Hurtado of Corpus Christi, Amanda Robledo of Livingston, Stephanie Hurtado of Robstown, Krysten Alyssa Hurtado and Kathryn Marie Hurtado, both of McAllen.
Pallbearers were Martin Robledo Jr., David Hurtado Jr., Karry Hurtado III, Mark Anthony Hurtado and Jared Wayne Nettles.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Leasure
March 22, 2004
Joseph  Washington Leasure, 82, died Saturday, March 6, 2004, at his residence in Livingston.
He was born February 22, 1922 in Chaffee, Missouri, the son of Dan and Zora Duke Leasure, both of whom preceded him in death. Mr. Leasure was a member of the VFW Post in Houston. He served in the Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Violet Leasure of Livingston; sons, Robert Leasure of Devers and David Leasure of Katy; daughter, Ann Rogers of San Antonio; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is pending. Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, is in charge of arrangements.

Mobley
March 22, 2004
Memorial services for Marilyn Avis Mobley, 77, of Coldspring, were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2004, in Coldspring Untied Methodist Church, with the Rev. Capri Grimes officiating.
Mrs. Mobley was born on October 27, 1926 in Shelbyville and died on March 4, 2004 in Livingston. She and her husband, John, were formerly of Beaumont, where they resided for over 29 years.
While living in Coldspring, they belonged to Coldspring United Methodist Church, where they were faithful members for many years and made many lasting friendships.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, John; their three sons, John E. Mobley III and wife, Suzanne, James Mobley and Jeese Mobley and his wife, Cathy; brother, Wayne Wood and wife, Anneice; grandsons, Micah Mobley and wife, Erica, Alex Mobley, Matthew Mobley and Jack Mobley; granddaughters, Jessica Childress and husband, Quincy, Elisabeth Mobley, Naomi Mobley, and Rebekah Mobley; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Golden Cross, % Coldspring United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1520, Coldspring,  Texas 77331.

Rushing
March 22, 2004
Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2004 for Mary Lesta Rushing, 56, of Marble Falls, at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Apple Springs with Bro. Merlin Swan officiating.
She was born June 15, 1947 in Harrison, Arkansas, the daughter of Willie Lester Thompson and Willia Hensley Thompson. She graduated from Mills High School in 1966. She married Johnny Rushing on July 4, 1984 in Porter. She was known as a loving mother and wife and a friend to numerous people with her volunteer work.
Mrs. Rushing died Monday, March 8, in Seton Medical Center in Austin. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Mitchell Thompson.
Survivors include her husband of 19 years, Johnny Rushing of Marble Falls; daughter and son-in-law, Christina and Aaron Holmes of Splendora; son and daughter-in-law, Edward 'Corey' and Karen Collins III of Splendora; step-sons, John Carol Rushing of Houston and Douglas Ray Rushing; step-daughter, Carol Ann of Midway; granddaughters, Veronica Ann Holmes and Victoria Marie Holmes, both of Splendora; grandsons, Chase Donovan and Lane Benton Vailes, both of Splendora; sister, Pauline Lewis of Yakima,  Washington; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles H. and Lou Thompson of Searcy, Arkansas, Dorwin and Mary Thompson of Harrison, Arkansas and Harold and Barbara Thompson of Huntsville; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Burlie and Dan Norton of Green Forest, Arkansas and Shirley and Don Henson of Berryville, Arkansas.

Wilson
March 22, 2004
Funeral services for Ronnie Lee Wilson, 60, of Onalaska, were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2004, at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Frank Hood officiating. Burial followed in Peebles Cemetery.
He was born October 31, 1943 in San Antonio, the son of George W. and Doris Marie Buckley Wilson. He married Deborah Wilson on October 17, 1980 in Houston.
Mr. Wilson died Monday, March 8, in Methodist Hospital, Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Diann Heimann; and granddaughter, Samantha Michelle Powell.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Deborah R. Wilson of Onalaska; daughters, Aletha Kay Swanson of Lake  Jackson and Sherry Lee Green of Angleton; son, Brian Daniel  White of Ragley,  Louisiana; son and daughter-in-law, Matthew Leroy and Stephanie Wilson of Rye; daughters and sons-in-law, Stacey Diann and Steven Powell of Livingston and Cynthia Marie and Kris Kinder of Clovis, New Mexico; son, Joseph Lee Wilson of Onalaska; grandchildren, Nathan Swanson, Nicholas Swanson, Nicole Swanson, Josh Greek, Brandon Greek, Kristen Greek and Micah Anthony Wilson; brother, Gary Wilson of Onalaska; and sister, Janit Arnold of San Antonio.
Pallbearers were Steven Powell, David Powell, Chris West, Terry Coleman and Victor McBride. Honorary pallbearers were Matthew Wilson, Nathan Swanson and Brian Daniel  White.

Wolff
March 22, 2004
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 9, 2004 for Susan Wolff, 83, at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska, with the Rev. Don Wilkey officiating. Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery, Onalaska.
She was born October 6, 1920 in Alto, the daughter of Robert T. and Birdie Bradley Norvell.
Mrs. Wolff died Saturday, March 6, in Memorial Medical Center, Livingston. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Joseph Harvey McElroy; granddaughter, Destini Hiser; husband, Otho Wolff; sister, Beth Smith; and brother, Robert Turner Norvell.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Alice and David Reed of Onalaska; sons, Paul Wolff Sr. of Onalaska and J.R. 'Dick' Wolff of Tijeras, New Mexico; sister, June Ham of  Jefferson; grandsons, Sean Gilmore of Livingston, Paul Wolff Jr. of Onalaska, Joseph H. McElroy of Gainesville and Steven M. Wolff; granddaughters, Dr. Kelly Gilmore of Houston and Suzanne Wolff of Montgomery; five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Paul Wolff Jr., Steve Hiser, Patrick Gilmore, David Reed, Sean Gilmore and Keith Lynch.

Woods
March 22, 2004
Funeral services for Bobby Woods, 46, of Goodrich, were held Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at Pace Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Borden and Bro. Wayne Bland officiating. Interment followed in Restland Cemetery.
He was born on June 11, 1957 in Lincoln Park, Michigan to parents Lonnie and Charlotte Yearout Woods. He was a retired auto parts manager and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Livingston. He had been an area residence since 1987.
Mr.  Woods died Sunday, March 7, 2004 in Kingwood. He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte Woods; and a son, David Kinsela III.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; five children, Karen King of Goodrich, Sarah Torres of Katy, Steven Kinsela of Austin, B.J.  Woods of Katy and Karl Kinsela of Austin; his father, Lonnie Woods; brother, Danny  Woods of Huntsville; two sisters, Cheryl Sanders and Candy Rhodes, both of Spring; five grandchildren, Zachary, Matthew, Andrew, Nathan and Isabel; and several nieces and nephews, including Lonnie, Christopher, Daniel, Steven, Anthony and Branden.
Pallbearers were B.J. Woods, Lonnie Seek, Steven Sanders, Christopher Rhodes, Daniel Rhodes, Steven Kinsela, Zachary Snook, Matthew Deplois and Howard Lilly.
Pace Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Baucum
March 22, 2004
Funeral services for Clebern Earl Baucum, 56, of LaMarque, were held at Central Baptist Church in Daisetta on Friday, March 12, 2004, with the Revs. Jim Van Dorn and Harry McDaniel officiating. Interment followed in Hardin Chapel Cemetery in Hardin under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.
Mr. Baucum died Tuesday, March 9, 2004 in Houston after an extended illness.
Survivors include his wife, Toy Baucum of LaMarque; mother, Viola Baucum of Daisetta; daughters, Charlotte Myrow and husband, Kenneth, of Livingston, Dana Morley and husband, Stanley, of Georgia, Susan Ramera and husband, Gil, of Colorado, and Tina  Jones of Pasadena; brothers, Roy Baucum of Liberty, Vorice Baucum and wife, Wanda, of Daisetta, and Frank Baucum and wife, Brenda, of Hull; sisters, Violet Lawrence, Joyce Clark and husband, Ron, Jeanell McCann and husband, E.T., and Sharon Taylor, all of Daisetta; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mike Hays, Bo Cochran, Glen Foster, Curtis Corley, Scotty Baucum and Boyett Taylor. Honorary pallbearers were Roy Baucum, Vorice Baucum, Frank Baucum, Jimmy Noble, Jim Henry and Robin Frazier.
Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton, was in charge of arrangements.

Brown
March 22, 2004
A memorial service was held Saturday, February 21, 2004, for Charles Monroe Brown, formerly of Banning, California, at Magnolia Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Brackin officiating at the graveside service.
Mr. Brown was born in Beaumont on July 7, 1954, the son of the late Albert Hugh Brown Sr. and Mary Evelyn Cain Brown of Beaumont. He was the grandson of the late Rev. J.M. and Lesta Kay Cain of Livingston. He was known as a humorous, kind man who dedicated his life in helping others and who was loved by everyone, especially his family.
Survivors include his wife, Mayda Alyea Brown; two sons, Charles Monroe Brown II and Joshua T. Brown; and daughter, Siobhan Lopez, all of Banning, California; one sister, Charlotte Bosch of New Orleans,  Louisiana; and four brothers, Albert F. Brown of Baytown, L.J. Strickland of Warwick, Rhode Island, Albert H. Brown of New Orleans,  Louisiana and Clifford M. Chick Brown of Coldspring.
